If that's the case, shouldn't Bauserman be suspended for launching missiles into the crowd?

These guys can't take a dump without being interrogated about what they ate--they're under a frickin' microscope, and it sucks

I just don't understand how a student with no record is charged with a misdemeanor and not just charged by the school itself with a code of conduct violation and sent in front of the judiciary board

In the atmosphere that now exists surrounding Ohio State, anything that even gave a whiff of favoritism would cause howls from the NATIONAL media, let alone locals. This is overkill, and the kid is being sacrificed at the altar of public perception, in part because of the guys before him who got themselves and the program on the front pages of ESPN every day for months.

Isn't this the same type of "offense" that David Lighty was charged with in Cleveland right before he left to come to OSU -- I'm guessing that would have been, what, 12 years ago? :D

He deserves it. What a fucking moron for doing that.

It's stupid, but if they stopped when told, and it didn't hit anyone or cause any damage, why does it deserve criminal charges when discipline can be handled differently?

BTW, it was Big Cris Carter's airsoft, where is his discipline?

Hmmm, when I heard this on the news last night I assumed he was shooting people and I thought "what a dumb ass." Now that I know he wasn't targeting people I can't believe he was charged with anything. That's fucking retarded.

Yes, but Lighty was shooting people. He also seemed to learn from his mistake and didn't get in trouble again for the last 12 years he was at OSU.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did some community service in lieu of a conviction. Just a dumb mistake, can't believe he was actually charged with a criminal offense.

This suspension and the actions by the university appear to be coming out of a "zero tolerance" policy.

You know: the policies that don't require anyone to actually THINK. You don't consider the situation, the people or the circumstances...you simply deal out some punishment.

One of the dumbest and most unAmerican concepts we've come up with in our lifetime.

    Agreed.

OSU wins tomorrow. I wore Buckeye gear every Friday up to this point, but wore orange today as a way to jinks Illinois. I think it'll work.

Biggest game of OSU's season is TODAY -- Buckeyes win, they are "likely" bowl bound. Buckeyes lose, no chance at a postseason. Win today, and somehow shock the world and beat Wisconsin, and all of a sudden this season becomes a lot more interesting.

Can we beat Wisconsin? Hell no haha ... but in theory, it all starts with a good performance today. Can you tell I am trying to get excited for today's game???
  • ricola
can't believe the majority calling for an OSU win here. A big Buckeye fan, but this is the weekest team we've had in years, we have no coach, Illinois has one of their stronger teams in years, it's AT IL, ---don't see it happening AT ALL.

Hoping he won't fumble the ball after returning an INT ...

PS, flipped between the Michigan-MSU game and Penn State- Purdue. Penn State is NOT a good football team, OSU should beat them in Columbus. Long story short, win this Illinois game, I really think this team is bowl bound. Besides the Wisconsin game, I think we have a shot in every game. I predict 7-5 ...
