That's all that needs to be said. I'm not saying this exclusively to ND. If you should have won, you have no business losing. -

Im not sure youd find a single ND fan on here (since Rock is gone lol) that actually thinks ND has been much of anything the last 20 years. We have had some good runs and some good teams. But it isnt as if we have been saying National Title or Bust. We know we got a long way to go. The comparison is ridiculous.
But I'll be the king optimist. I just don't expect Notre Dame to have five turnovers every game.
I thought the first three games were going to be the toughest stretch and after that it'll clear up. After this performance I think the Michigan game is a push, and the Michigan State game slides into Notre Dame's favor.
After that, the stretch of Pittsburgh, Purdue, Air Force. So they will be 4-2/5-1 heading into the bye week and then USC game. Another stretch of Navy, Wake Forest, Maryland, and Boston College. All are very winnable; then Stanford.
Simply saying....the season isn't lost. They were HORRIBLE on offense and put up 508 yards. I mean, who does that? -

As gay as that thread turned, lhs was correct in that battle lol. COA got pretty much owned on the "thats not you" bs he was spewing. I think its the Mick Vick Got Paid thread.SportsAndLady;882559 wrote:I missed this shirtless pic lol
and lep, ND had no business losing to USF? Not sure I agree with that. Yes they should have won, but USF is a good team. -
killer_ewokOkay, so here's my take....
Defense.....played very good. Kept ND in it. Can't fault them a bit tonight.
Special teams....Turk stunk. The coverage wasn't great either. Ruffer missed what amounts to a chippy for him.
Offense....Wood looks great but they're gonna have to monitor his workload more closely. They were wearing him out IMO. Gray's fumble was a killer obviously. Crist looked like dog shit. The offense looked much better with Rees at the helm. Tai-ler Jones and Theo Riddick...catch the fucking ball.
Rees better be the starter for the UM game. Call me crazy....but I think we win that game. Just take care of the ball and contain Denard (easier said than done). -

All very good points. Season isnt over, but damn does it always seem like it is when you lose the opener.Tobias Fünke;882565 wrote:+1

lhslep134Since I'm going to be seen as a major troll, I'll say this about the game.
ND more than shot themselves in the foot. Against an inferior team (which USF was, despite being a pretty decent team), turnovers are the ultimate equalizer. Also, the delays hurt ND, as I think they developed a lot more flow in terms of just working the field with the football. ND will be fine, but as I said on page 1 of this thread, I expected ND to win.
A lot of time left in the season to improve.
ND fans, thought on the QB situation: do you want Rees or Crist? -

Rees. -
Hamp89It's got to be Rees, no question. It's unfortunate because Crist has all the tools but he just isn't a gamer.
-
Tobias FünkeRees. Not because he's more athletic (he isn't), and not because Crist threw a terrible interception, but because the offense moved at a faster pace with him.
And that was a nice, and true post. Not trolling. -
like_thatThis thread would have been a lot more entertaining if rock still posted here.

I agree with that too. They weren't going undefeated and winning a national title anyways to be honest. They can still win 8, 9 or 10 games and have a very nice season. An EXTREMELY disappointing loss but there's a lot of football left this year. Learn from this loss and move on. That's all you can do.Laley23;882573 wrote:All very good points. Rees. He commands the game better and is a proven winner. The team doesn't seem to respond to Crist as well. He just doesn't have "it" or meet "the eyeball test". Best of luck to him though...lhslep134;882578 wrote:Since I'm going to be seen as a major troll, I'll say this about the game.

grodtRees. The offense just moves better when he's under/behind center.
-
Laley23Rees. We looked a lot better with him in there. More crisp, faster paced. Just better as a unit.

dat dudeI'm not sure BK did himself any favors with future recruits tonight. His sideline antics went a bit overboard.
-
Hamp89BK made a nice point in his post game comments regarding Rees as well - he didn't have the luxury of using the running game to open up the passing game. Rees was put in a situation where the defense knew he was throwing on every down and still moved the ball well.

dat dudeI understand ND fans would take a defensive position, but that didn't look good. Coaches rarely do those type of things anymore. Pelini got ripped last year for something similar.
