Pryor ineligible for supplemental draft?

PrescottMaybe, he can sell cars for Auto Direct.

ts1227There was some talk about this before, but not much since most people seemed to think the NFL would let him in.
The only thing that changed between the regular draft and when he left the university was that there was a coaching change. Since he left on his own and wasn't kicked out, it makes a little hairy. But at the same time, he did not INTENTIONALLY bypass the first draft. Who knows, we'll see how the NFL feels after they iron out the CBA this week. -

dwccrewNow that Pryor is no longer a Buckeye, I couldn't care less what he does. I wish him no ill-will, I just don't care whether he succeeds in football or not.

TiernanKarma is a fickle bitch! ....or would that be Fickell bitch?

vball10setIf he's ruled ineligible for the supplemental draft, would he then be considered a free agent? Since he's been out of high school the requisite three years, he can't be kept out of the NFL, can he?
-
karen lotzI don't think he'd be a free agent. It would set a bad precedent if he were allowed to sign with any team he wanted.

Prescott
He probably knows more about their inventory than the sales manager and he has personal experience with 1/2 of that inventory. He also knows what a "Good Deal" is.Stick to your day job -
imex99crazy... Let some team draft him and let him play!

Pretty sure you can only be a free agent if you clear the draft process. He would basically have to play elsewhere, then declare for the draft next year. Could be completely wrong though.vball10set;840481 wrote:If he's ruled ineligible for the supplemental draft, would he then be considered a free agent? Correct. He would have to wait until the draft next April.
Between the time of the draft and the time Pryor left his head coach resigned and he was put under a new investigation by the NCAA. Look, there are probably several teams interested in him in the 4-5 round slot, so the NFL is going to clear him. There's no set guidelines as to what does and doesn't make a player eligible for the supplemental draft. It's a case-by-case basis and it's up to the NFL who to declare eligible. They will declare him eligible. -
dat dudeI'd be shocked if he were declared ineligible. He'll get drafted.
-
wkfanI heard this morning that, if declared ineligible for the Supplemental draft, Pryor may file suit against the NFL.
Shades of Maurice Clarett..... -
ernest_t_bassWhy couldn't they just put him on waivers?

krambmanernest_t_bass;841453 wrote:Why couldn't they just put him on waivers?
Because no one is eligible to play in the NFL unless they have gone through the draft process. If he hasn't gone through the draft or the supplemental draft then he's ineligible to be put on waivers. He would have to wait until the draft in April. -
sportchamppsI would think Pryor being banned from OSU today should only help his case.
-
JerseyBuckPryor has been banned from Ohio State for 5 years which now lets him become eligible for the supplemental draft.
-
karen lotzlol. did that just happen or did it just get reported?
-
WriterbuckeyeI'm guessing his agent probably asked for something to be released so he can be eligible for the draft.
-
jordo212000What a shame. Hopefully he is pumping gas until next season

The sad part is OSU playing along...if it's actually true. -

Yeah that's what I was wondering. I saw that the letter was dated today, and that makes it look even worse. Like they are trying to pull a fast one over on the NFL. When Pryor left, there was no mention of him not being allowed to return. He said himself he left so the attention on the team could start to go away, never said anything about him being declared ineligible by OSU or the NCAA. Smith could not have handled the whole situation much worse than he has. -

Agreed. This is weird.WebFire;842229 wrote:The sad part is OSU playing along...if it's actually true. -
sleeper^ LOL @ the haters. Pryor was never going to play another down at OSU, Smith was just making it clear to the NCAA and the NFL. Get a life, and enjoy your mediocre teams.
