Sure it would, but it's not and that's the point. Everyone in the world thought OSU was gonna bend over and take it from the NCAA, and that's not what happened. The fact that it's our rival is even sweeter. Now that recruits have a general idea what to expect, Brady won't be able to play the "they're-gonna-get-hit-hard" card. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few of the guys who were swayed by this bull shite are going to think twice before signing day rolls around. Even with a worse case scenario, OSU would've been heavily favorited in "The Game" this year. In other words, Bichigan still sucks monkey balls.

And this is why I cant stand many OSU fans.

Thats not to say all of you are this bad, or that all teams dont have fans like this btw

Ah hell, don't get your panties in a bunch. I got the "Bichigan" from a T-Shirt I have. One that says - "Once Again..." (On the front) "Michigan, is our Bitchigan" (On the back). Then the years that we've beaten them, and a big ol' X on the '03 that says who cares? I'm sure the guy that designed the shirt was clearly an OSU fan. Meh.

I wonder if Michigan fans feel as sick and angry as us OSU fans did when all this came about. For the last 4-5 years, our third string could've tapped that arse.

Am I disappointed that they didnt get the shaft? Sure. But its not the end of the world. And at least TP and Tress are gone as a result of it, so its not all bad from my point of view lol

Understandable. I'd say above all else, Tress bein' gone is the best thing to happen to Michigan since the '97 1/2 National Championship. Besides, who better to talk shite to than your rival? Right?

First off it's hard to say this is good in terms of recruiting because no one knows who the coach will be next year. I do think the decision by the NCAA favors Fickell though.

Secondly, I won't ever believe a word Tressel says. He claims to have went to Sarniak because he was worried about Pryor's safety. Yet he didn't reach out to Posey's parents? Then he said he didn't know if they were involved criminally, yet never discussed it with anyone else? Doesn't make sense to me.

With that said, this was great news for OSU.

to be fair, i'm an OSU fan and was kind of hoping TP would be gone anyway. With all this drama, I'm really glad he's gone. It'd been way worse for me for him to be a 4 year starter and have beaten UM 4 times and gotten all the praise that comes with being that guy, then this comes out later and OSU fans would have been way more ridiculed.

If the SI article is even partly true, this whole ordeal may serve to make the new Buckeyes aware of how fucked up the seemingly smallest things can get. Maybe (if this was part of the OSU culture) this will change the way some of the players behave.

I think TP leaving made things easier. Once he left, he didn't have to talk. And Sarniak doesn't have to talk at all. So that trail got shut down.

No Sir. This is exactly why I don't post all that often though, you guys get all bent out of shape over other people's opinions. I took a lot of crap from Michigan fans during the Cooper era and now that OSU is beating Michigan on a consistent basis, they can't stand it when OSU fans point that out. When all this drama started in Columbus, Michigan fans were basking in our misery - photoshopping pictures, t-shirts, billboards, etc. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just not here on the OC.

While TP's behavior drove me crazy, you take the bad with the good -- he has been a bowl MVP two years in a row, and led OSU to conference championships.

Don't think for one second his talent won't be missed.

Losing Tressel is huge and completely changes OSU. It's a far worse penalty than a bowl ban or losing scholarships -- except the idiots in the media don't see it that way because they're so focused on hating him for what he believes in, and thinking he's a hypocrite.

Losing Pryor is another big loss, for the reasons stated above.

OSU won't be able to just put Braxton Miller on the field and suddenly get Pryor-like performances out of him, or Pryor-like results right away. There may be a year or two learning curve here.

I hope not. I hope he steps in and OSU doesn't miss a beat -- but that's very, very unlikely to happen.

IMO, the worst part of all of this is the fact that we believed Tressel to be something he wasn't. Pryor leaving is absolutely a blessing for a few reasons - 1) The kid was an ego maniac and thought he was above the program, 2) When he decided to leave OSU, the drama surrounding the school tampered off and 3) Like you said if the SI article was partly true, it was definitely a good thing because the NCAA can't get Pryor to talk. I hate that Tressel's reputation took a critical blow because liar or not, he gave his heart and soul to Ohio State. What he did with team will give Buckeye Nation something to remember for a long time. Eventually all the talk about how horrible Tressel was at the end of his tenure at Ohio State will fade. He is, without a doubt, one of the best coaches to ever roam the sidelines in Ohio Stadium.

Very nice to hear. The storm is almost over, then it's time to truly focus on football season.

Good point. This is why I think OSU will utilize their stable of running backs a lot this year, and with Miller's speed can add in the elements of the option and zone read as well. Given Miller's learning curve (or Bauserman's lack of ability) as well as the receiver situation, I don't really see another direction for this offense

OSU's only hope of repeating this year is if the defense carries them. If the D plays as good or better than last season, they have a decent chance of winning the conference. If the D is down a notch, there will be anywhere from 1-3 losses (not including the bowl game), and possibly more if the Braxton doesn't take care of the football -- remember, JT isn't coaching, anymore, so we'll see if fundamentals stay as sound as they've been.

It's about time good news comes to Buckeye Nation. I can see a loss of a few scholarships, but that is minute compared to what could have been. Hopefully after Aug 12th we can get back to some kind of normalcy.

I, also, believe we will be pleasantly surprised by Miller's play this year.

After seeing the public outcry from media people about Ohio State it only strengthens my belief that for whatever reason Ohio State is the most hated school in the country. If you've got the time, Dennis Dodd is going NUTS about this. It's honestly sad that a grown man is going off like that.

Might not even get a post-season ban now. Probably will lose some schollies but that is survivable. ND and scUM fans are shittin themselves this morning..You're still nos. 4 & 5 in the Midwest fellas!

Loss of 7 starters on D still a bigger obstacle than losing either Tress or TP. RB stable is maybe best in the nation and will have to carry a huge load this season. Freshmen QBs are very unpredictable week to week and

With this news, I have to believe that a high profile coach will be coming to OSU this off season.

No major sanctions will not push recruits away especially if you land a Meyer type coach.
