Terrelle Pryor not returning to OSU

I know what you're saying, jordo, but I also have a hard time believing that this could go on this long without someone above Tressel getting wind of it...it's just doesn't add up.

You have to hope and pray that it doesn't. Not sure why anyone would want to be right about that?

I never said I wanted to be right

so am i . where was pryor parking all these different vehicles ? nobody noticed this kid was in the car of month club? i find that hard to believe

Just the fact that this business with the cars was going on, as well as the tattoo parlor involvement going back several years, without someone blowing the whistle long ago reinforces my opinion. This is bigger than just the head coach.

Again, all the cars were approved by the OSU compliance department, which the NCAA has used as an example of the best compliance department in the country.

Which doesn't mean shit. Tressel was the symbol of honesty and integrity, until he was busted lying. Just sayin'

Tressel is no different than any other big time D1 coach, he just isn't a scumbag off the field. Hence why he gets the honest and full of integrity tag on him.

I doubt most of the guys called "scumbags" are really that either. Anyway, the point is that Bigdogg said the OSU compliance department has been used as an example of "the best"...whatever else, as though that means they can do no wrong. If we never knew it before, the last few months should have been a lesson that reputation or public image isn't always correct. Just like with Tressel, people refused to believe what was being reported because of the pedestal he had been put on. Until he was caught, people had a perception of him as being the most honest person in the world. He isn't, that's all.

I've said it on here before. I've seen players driving dealer plated cars for years while working at the Blackwell. I thought was a normal and allowed thing. The majority of the coaches also rolled in dealer rides.

So no car lending is allowed? I was always under the impression that the dealers were partnered up with the university.....lend out cars in exchange for tickets and other perks.

The players can not receive a deal that a normal student would not be able to get.

Then why do it so out in the open? I don't get it.

I always thought they were just "using" the cars, not in their name and actually purchasing them. I'm under the impression that this is what the whole car ordeal is about.....special deals for purchase?

    False.

I mean, how is it false? Tressel made a mistake. EVERY one of his players respects him, and EVERY one who has known him respects him. One mistake doesn't change a man's integrity, and if that was the case then Brian Kelly is the biggest jackass of them all. In fact, his one mistake killed someone. Tressell is only taking this much heat, because OSU is hated by everyone but OSU supporters. Plain and simple.

What is false? That Tressel isn't a scumbag?

Tobias probably had Tressel want too many Iced Teas while he was being his servant and that pissed him off

Oh yeah, that's right, everyone hates Ohio State. Cry me a river. Here's what's plain and simple: Tressel has a history of not knowing what his players are doing at crucial moments, and he intentionally kept secret the fact that four of his best players should have been ruled ineligible. That is one mistake, lying about it is another. It constitutes a grave set of errors full of cheating, lying, and overall hypocrisy.

Funny you should bring up Brian Kelly. In the fall, it was told that omniscient Tressel had the decency to know to look out for everyone on the team--including the video crew, and that Brian Kelly knowingly endangered kids after he saw 55-mph weather reports. Now we know that Tressel apparently cared more about what his video guys were doing than his NFL-bound QB, WR, RB, and OL....and that even OSHA agreed the Declan Sullivan tragedy blame shouldn't be placed on Brian Kelly because the weather reports they had on hand weren't dangerous.

It's sorta silly, the guy knows every facet of the program but can't dare to look in the parking lot to see all of the cars Terrelle is cruising around in. He can't get informed that is license is suspended and shouldn't be driving? Don't you all get it? It's a systemic approach to only giving a shit when it behooves Ohio State. It's why we see guys like Chris Wells saying if you don't defend your kids no matter what you're a bad parent--they expect to have Tressel cover up for them. How do you not see the only difference between Ohio State's football program and much of the SEC is that we don't grey-shirt players.

The nation hates the Buckeyes? Yea that makes sense.

I went to New Orleans last year for OU's bowl game...every bar I went to, we would hear "Bring on the Bobcat fans, at least they're not Buckeye fans!"

Went to Vegas last Thanksgiving, when I would tell locals I'm from Ohio U, they would say "oh god I hate the Buckeyes"

There's currently a thread on my KU premium bball board that is 200+ replies about the KU/OSU game next year...lotsssss of hate for the Buckeyes from random KU fans who literally have zero reason to hate OSU.

I'm not one of those people who go around crying 'wahhhh the nation/media hates us!!' (cough cough, writerbuckeye, cough cough)...but to think that the nation does not have some sort of personal hate towards OSU is a bit ignorant

Hopefully that works. Rank the teams, submit, and see who is #1 and has the most first place votes.

OSU is the biggest University in the country. Everywhere you go you will find fans and those who dislike. Doesn't make OSU the most hated in the country. Just makes them very significant.

ND is #1 although OSU has the most first place votes. Congrats?

That link just shows prestige, nothing about hated. My link which had over 100,000 votes had OSU as the most hated(barely over ND) and had the most first place votes by a lot. I don't think its an open and shut case, but id say any poll you find like that will have Ohio State first, maybe second.
