UC's Brian Kelly to interview with Notre Dame on Tuesday
-
cbus4lifeWelcome to ND, Mr. Kelly.
-
Scarlet_BuckeyeCan you say, "Bye, bye Cincy."
-
TiernanWith those flushed cheeks and roseola nose he ought to fit in well with the Irish.
-
devil1197He is leaving UC imo. Without the shot at the NC, why should he stay? Cincinnati could make him the highest paid coach and ND could double it in a heartbeat. I am not a fan of ND, but I always thought Kelly would be the next coach.
Please don't even say Kelly's name with Woody/Bo/Bear. Not even close and never will be close. -
thedynasty1998If Notre Dame wants him, he's gone. I just think Notre Dame is trying to explore all options. No need for them to rush the decision right now. If they determine that Stoops and Meyer are no's, then they talk to Kelly.
-
jpake1Kelly is going to interview for the job tomorrow.
-
devil1197Kelly is going to pull a Rich Rod and not coach in the Sugar Bowl. I could see him staying if UC made the NCG but not the Sugar Bowl. He will see the huge money laid out in front of him and ND is the spot for him. If he is truly the coach that can change every team into a winner, he has a project laid out in front of him with ND.
-
jpake1No doubt.

Lets see first off $$$$$$ccrunner609 wrote: Lets see, Kelly has what may be the best offense in the country coming back and all of his D. Why would he go to ND and win 3 games?
Secondly he just coached his team to an undefeated season in a BCS confrence and didn't get a chance to win a NC. If his team had worn Blue and Gold uiforms in an ND on it and he coached them to a 12-0 record this season the BCS would implode and all hell would be breaking loose. -

i about jizzed in my pants if this is true. -

I'd never jizz in my pants over a dude, but I'd certainly be excited to hear Kelly's name interviewing. From day one I said Kelly would be ND's guy, didn't need sources to prove it. When you are an upcoming coach that is winning, you will get the best jobs available. I am sorry UC, but giving Kelly a raise and building a practice field won't help at all. ND can double the raise and build a 2nd practice facility if Kelly wanted it.rocket31 wrote: link to this new information...

jpake1ND- I think you have your man. But I'm still expecting that announcement with Mr. Stoops I've been hearing about...
-
Tiernanrocket...you can be damn sure Kelly jizzed in HIS pants when they finally called. After beng turned down behind closed doors by St. Urban (again) & Cardinal Bob, they dialed up their 3rd pick (again) and the little leprechan said "How fast can I get there?"

devil1197
He may be the 3rd choice, but he is right up there with Stoops currently. This isn't like previous years, Kelly will be a good choice for them.Tiernan wrote: rocket...you can be damn sure Kelly jizzed in HIS pants when they finally called. vball10setdid anyone else hear today when Colin Cowherd insinuated that Kelly being hired as coach may not be in the best interest of Notre Dame's integrity? he kept playing the sound effect of a bottle of beer being poured while he was saying "now,I don't want to say anything, but Brian Kelly may not....."

You may be right, but we heard the same crap about Weis.devil1197 wrote:

I do think they've been turned down by Meyer and Stoops, and this is their third choice. Of course, we probably won't know for certain because coaches don't want to air dirty laundry for another university (admitting they turned them down becomes dirty laundry). -

Kelly has proven he can win in college football, Weis isn't comparable to Kelly imo.Writerbuckeye wrote:

The EqualizerESPN is saying Harbaugh will be talked to as well.

I agree. The Irish could do alot worse than Brian Kelly.devil1197 wrote:

3reppomThe only way Kelly doesn't get the offer is if he is an unrelenting asshole, which is possible but far from likely.

krazie45Here's why I don't think Kelly will stay and be the Woody/Bo type at UC.....Rich Rodriguez. Rich Rodriguez was at an even better situation than Kelly at UC. He pretty much dominated the Big East and even had a big BCS win. Not to mention that WVU is a better program historically than UC, has better facilities, and has a better stadium. He had the chance to be WVU's Bo or Woody and he still took the Michigan job. I see no reason that Kelly doesn't do the same unless he sees the pattern of Big East coaches struggling when they leave the Big East (Rodriguez at UM, Dantonio at MSU, John L. Smith at MSU, Petrino at Arkansas). Maybe it would just be easier to stay in the Big East and be guaranteed a BCS bowl bid pretty much every year. I'm not sure Kelly is up to the challenge of being the next Notre Dame coach.

kellys twitter page (i think) not sure of the authenticity of this page, however, it is linked to the UC official website, therefore, i believe it is legitimate.
looks like kelly has laid the groundwork to leave cincy -

you seem like an intelligent guy, more so than the folks from the new york times, maybe you should inform them of your assertion, because they seem to be fooled as well...ccrunner609 wrote: I call fake on that link
