And the only reason those stats above happened, was because Sully got in foul trouble early. He only played 27 min that game.

uh huh, those 4 minutes less than his average caused a 10 rebound and 16 point disparity?

Green, Roe, and Nix are all capable post players, and when Michigan State plays well they do most of their work in the paint. They also guard the rim inside. Sullinger is showing right now why I wouldn't take him with the top pick of the NBA draft. He isn't athletic enough to get good shots off against tough interior defense at postseason intensity, which is what he would see if they play the Spartans. If MSU gets by Penn State they could very well beat Ohio State tomorrow.

    Points in the paint....
    Green 1-1, 2 points
    Nix 2-2, 4 points
    Sherman 3-3, 6 points
    Payne 3-4, 6 points

Green had a couple 3's and they went combined 5-6 from the line.

    Lauderdale 1-1, 2 points
    Sullinger 2-3, 4 points

Probably not the best shot chart but only one I could find.

Belein is finally getting UM straightened out. If their big man keeps improving (No. 52, whose name escapes me) and TH Jr. doesn't think he;s ready for the pros yet - and a few more athletic types - I see em near the top of the little 11 next season.

Thanks, that proves even more of a disparity than just posting the post players points. MSU had 1.5x more rebounds and 3x more points in the paint that game.

So you're basing your opinion on their ability to 'outskill' OSU in the post on 1 game? That's asinine. I'm not even arguing that OSU has a good post game, because outside of Sully they have pretty much nothing. I'm saying that lack of an offensive post presence is definitely one of, if not the weakest, points of the MSU team.

Are you a Michigan State fan? Because that is the only way I could possibly see anybody trying to classify Derrick Nix as a capable post player.

Yes, I am basing it on 1 game, because they did it in one game against OSU. They only game between the 2. They did it once, they can do it again. The stats do not lie.

Speaking of stats not lying, OSU won that game by 10 points with Sully having one of his least effective games of the season. If you are going to base your entire opinion on that game, then there is no reason you should be worried about having to 'bang with them' again anyway, because it was a double digit W.

    Awful logic.

you're usually a knowledgeable and consistent poster, but to say that OSU should be worried more about MSU's post game than they have with anyone else's? you're talkin' jibberish, my friend

Assuming MSU wins as they should, tomorrow will be a war. Sparty is playing more like everyone expected them too -- which means it will be a tough game. MSU can bring bigger guys in waves to nullify Sullinger. To win, OSU will have to be "on" from the outside, something they haven't really shown yet in this tournament. Today was close, but not how OSU has typically been shooting.

Also, OSU will have to make their damn free throws.

OSU has not been shooting very well lately. And that was a 5 point game with 2:20 left.

MSU dominated OSU in the paint. Why shouldn't they be worried about it. I mean MSU absolutely made OSU look like they had NOTHING in the paint.
  • LJ
    MSU 29 rebounds
    OSU 19

MSU 18 points in the paint
    OSU 6

Tell me why they shouldn't worry?

Didn't they just go 14-15 from 3's recently?

yeah, 3 and 4 games ago. Didn't know 2 games over a week ago were "lately" when OSU just played 2 games.
