How Much Trouble Is OSU and Tressel in Now?!

    The confidentiality is only on the part of the attorney, and he's allowed to forward information with the clients permission.

    Nothing that Tressel received required him, by law, to keep it confidential.

    Tressel told Smith about what? He didn't bring up the emails to OSU. OSU found the emails while looking into another matter. In December, when asked by OSU if he knew anything about it, Tressel said he had a tip from someone but it wasn't very clear. You are wrong.

    Ohio State didn't make the decision on what would be dedacted, the FBI would make that call.

    The FBI has not yet concluded their investigation into the tattoo parlor drug trafficing case. There are always layer upon layer of culprits involved in drug trafficing. The FBI won't be happy until they get the boys at the top of the pyramid. ANY POSSIBLE compromising information and names were blacked out so as not to compromise their investigation. There also could be people in the investigation that will flip and give up information to further their quest to get the big players. Their identities can't be revealed.

    The ONLY reason the FBI allowed the press conference and some information to be released is because there was a leak at the University to the "journalista" who broke the story. The FBI was not pleased with the leak. The NCAA punishment of the 5 who traded their stuff for tatoos and Jim Tressel and the confidential e-mails are SMALL SMALL potatoes. The FBI is after dozens of MAJOR drug trafficing criminals.

    Think about. What is more important, punishing athletes and coaches for NCAA transgressions, OR nailing some big time criminals?

    Didn't say otherwise, The FBI and the incomplete drug trafficing investitgation are the big players. Ohio State, the five football player and Tressel are insignificant in the big scheme of things.

    What's the big scheme? A federal investigation? Well no shit. No one is saying Tressel is going to jail.

    The only thing OSU fans are concerned with is the NCAA, and that's what is significant on this thread titled "How much trouble is OSU and Tressel in now?!"

    Go start another thread if you want to discuss the drug dealer.

    Surely you aren't so silly to think the FBI wasn't told about the press conference and they weren't involved in what could or could not be seen on the e-mails. THERE IS AN ON GOING FBI DRUG TRAFFICING INVESTIGATION and the attorney who asked for confidentiality on the e-mails and his client may or may not be involved.

    You can't separate the two. The FBI, investigating the tattoo parlor's involvement in their drug trafficing investigaion were the ones who told Ohio State about the players stuff found at the tattoo parlor. At a point in the investigation the FBI thought student athletes were involved in the drug trafficing.

    All this fucker managed to do was consistently fail to deliver on the field because of bad decision making on the field, and drive tOSU into the ground with his supid decisions off it.

    I'm not going to condone any sort of cover up, but the fact that they felt they had to do anything to cover for him is criminal.

    OSU deserves whatever's coming, but it'd be nice if these players would have never put them in this position.

    This is the biggest reason why I said to let all the players involved go if you want to keep JT. MOVE ON.

    Does Federal Investigation automatically mean FBI? I haven't read once where the FBI is involved.

    And the FBI isn't investigating OSU or it's players. Why would they have to consult the FBI?

    The FBI is the Federal Government's investigative arm in crimes which cross state borders. The DEA is also involved in Federal Drug trafficing investigations.

    Again, Ohio State found out above the "tattoos for player's stuff" from those investigating drug trafficing AND at one time they thought the players were involved in the drug trafficing.

    Bob Knight sounded like a moron on Mike and Mike this morning. The more I hear him speak the more I dislike him (this coming from someone who loved him as a coach).

    The investigation continues and my cousins girlfriend that works at the franklin county courthouse said this is just the beginning and look for one of the asst coaches to be indicted with the Rife case and then implicate one of the star players as being part of the bigger picture.I hate to tell you but this is going to get real ugly before it is over.

    My sister lives in Florida and I don't think she even knows who Tressel is.She hates football and thinks that tennis and swimming are the only sport that matters.
