One that comes right to mind, is a guy named Hank Gathers, who happened to die right on the court from heart failure. His team played on and made a run to the elite 8, 12 days after his death! So yes, overcoming adversity, does happen quite often.

I'm not saying there haven't been worse tragedies...all I'm saying is JUST FOR THAT UT GAME ALONE, KU lost because of what they had to go through the NIGHT BEFORE the game. I'm not talking about losses in march or losses next year, i'm talking about that UT game.

I'm also not saying overcoming adversity doesn't happen quite often...i'm not retarded I know that there are worse tragedies in the sports world and there have been players whom have overcome said tragedies. But when the entire team is up all night crying with someone they call family because his MOM just died two weeks after his grandma and grandpa just died, no they are not going to win a damn basketball because they are not mentally or physically ready to play the game. Don't agree with me...fine, I don't care...but you cannot tell me that the excuse is not valid.

    Whatever man...

When I'm talking about extending their 69 game home win streak and you say you don't think it's that ridiculous to think UT could've/would've beaten KU even without her death, common sense will say you were talking about @ lawrence.

OSU/MSU...u mean they are playing a game against eachother? ;) I must be in the wrong thread again!

I keep saying with MSU "they gotta turn it around eventually, I think it'll be this game" but it just hasn't happened this year for Izzo. We haven't seen what this team (OSU) will do after a loss, but I think they have plenty of experience where they won't miss a beat and beat MSU by 15'ish.

If MSU wants a shot of the NCAA's, they better come to play...it's getting to the point where people are sick of defending their tourney chances.

I hope it's not this game, but like you said, with an Izzo coached team-- you never know.

They still have I think 3 loses left....and as crazy as I may be or you may think I am, I think IU has a chance to upset them. They travel to IU 3 days before their rematch with OSU. But they wont win the BTT, they wont beat OSU and I doubt they beat Purdue. Thats 8 loses...could be a 3, but more likely a 4 and if they stumble at IU it will be a 5. The OSU win could go pretty damn far though, so you do have to take that into their seeding. A 3 isnt unlikely, but its as high as they can go without a slip up. The odds would probably say a 4.

I hope OSU doesn't have a letdown tonight. Too important to keep that 2 game cushion by protecting your home court. Let's not forget that Izzo actually has won more games against Matta in Columbus than he has in E. Lansing.

Michigan State still has talent. All they have to do is wake up and play like they did last year and they could definitely win tonight. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they did.

You don't just wake up overnite after not being awake for most of the season, and even more asleep the past month. Crazier things have happened. And MSU could certainly win tonite. On any given nite, something could happen.
That being said, I would be surprised to see MSU win tonite. Not shocked, but surprised. OSU plays pretty well at home. And it is still MSU. So they won't be taking them lightly at all. I think they understand the importance of this game, especially considering their next game is @ Purdue. This is a HUGE home game.

I really see this game as a MUST WIN for the Buckeyes.

I'm interested to see how the Buckeyes react on the court to the loss. I fully expect a showing like the Purdue game.
  • Tiger2003
I don't know if this has been posted yet but Dicky Vitale will be doing the game tonight.
  • ytownfootball
I put the over/under the number of times Dookie V. mentions Dook at 6.5...

I think the Bucks come out pretty intense.

Uh oh..back to back games with Dickie V.!! Hope w have better luck than we did when he did the game on Sat.!! ;) Glad I'll be there and don't have to listen to him!

Hoping they come out angry and trounce Mich St. I think you get Mich St down by 15 and they collapse they don't have the guts/guys like Wisc. did to come back. I say we roll by 22+. Whats the biggest margin of victory for Oh St over Mich St?
