With that logic, why don't you have Pitt #1? They beat Texas and have 1 fewer loss than Texas. -

I don't know, telegraph Seth Davis.Sport&Lady wrote:With that logic, why don't you have Pitt #1? They beat Texas and have 1 fewer loss than Texas.
But that doesn't change my opinion. The Texas win at Kansas is an additional reason for Texas moving to No. 1, not the sole reason, as per my original post in discussion. I said I had reasons, and those reasons consist of Texas winning 10 in a row (all against Big XII opponents), with an average winning margin of 17 points per game. No team is playing better, IMO.
Besides, Pitt has lost twice since beating Texas on November 19 of last year. The Longhorns are a completely different team now and playing at a much higher level. So that's not relevant. -

This isn't a power ranking, you can't just vote based on how good they are right now. It's a poll to determine who is the best over the entire course of the season. You simply cannot ignore the fact UT lost by double digits to USC, a bad team. Yes, they are a changed team but that doesn't mean the beginning to the season should be overlooked. -

Then OSU should be #1 and your point is moot. Jesus -

How? How is OSU's resume' better than Kansas'? They have literally the exact same resume's. -
SportsAndLadyKU is #1 in RPI, OSU is #3.
KU is #12 in SOS, OSU is #31.
They each have one loss, in conference, to a top 15 team. -

Sorry if I hurt your feelings...Kansas is #1, should have been all season...here's an idea....START A FUCKING THREAD -

I didn't overlook the Longhorns' slow November and December start, which you should have deduced when I said, "Texas is playing at a much higher level."This isn't a power ranking, you can't just vote based on how good they are right now. I'm not voting simply on "how good they are right now." I'm voting on how good the Longhorns have been over the last 69 days since losing to USC. And those 69, almost 70 (like Phog's streak) days since that December 6 loss to USC show me 16 of 17 wins for UT and 10 straight. They are MY most impressive team in the country right now. I'm not really sure what else you want me to add, to be honest. -

Dude seriously? We're arguing about sports...it's a fucking message board. Sorry that it's going to ruin your day that a thread about OSU-MSU has a separate debate going on inside of it. -

Hey I'm just bored and want to spice this college bball forum up a little bit. A little debate here and there is what this place needs.
You're not wrong in thinking UT is #1, I just happen to disagree and am arguing you on it. I dont want you to add anything else lol -
reclegend22Basically, what all of our arguments on this thread are proving is that Ohio State, Texas and Kansas are at this point virtual coin flips for the No. 1 spot in the country.
In other words, your team is very good. Haha.
But, yeah, it is nice to have good debate here. I agree. -

You wanna drone on and on about something that literally has near zero relevance, be my guest. The fact of the matter is, that if it didn't involve Kansas, you wouldn't be shitting at the mouth about it. You're becoming a little fucking pest, and you're annoying the natives. Lol -

I've already had many discussions about topics that do not involve Kansas. Yes, this topic happens to involve Kansas, pure coincidence. All I'm doing is talking college basketball on a college basketball forum...if that means I'm annoying the natives, the natives need to acquire thicker skin. -
Midstate01Difference is KU lost at home. Osu lost on road. Edge osu.

Kansas lost at home...OSU lost on the road in arguably the toughest place to win in the country. Other than that, I don't disagree. Flip a coin. -

Here is a NEWS FLASH for you and your 4th grade "LOL"...although this was a very tragic situation, there have been WORSE. One that comes right to mind, is a guy named Hank Gathers, who happened to die right on the court from heart failure. His team played on and made a run to the elite 8, 12 days after his death! So yes, overcoming adversity, does happen quite often.SportsAndLady;677175 wrote:LOL
a) when has a team ever had one of their player's mom die the night before a game?
b) If KU would have won, they would have overcome huge adversity..that's a fact. How would that be twisting?
c) The motivation lasted for a while, as KU got off to a 16-2 start to the game. Then the adrenaline wore off due to getting an hour of sleep and staying up all night crying with a teammate who they consider family. -

I happen to agree, the OSU loss was a "better" loss.centralbucksfan;677795 wrote:Kansas lost at home...OSU lost on the road in arguably the toughest place to win in the country. Other than that, I don't disagree. Flip a coin.
But you cant ignore than Kansas loss is to another #1 seed, and OSUs is to a likely 4 or 5 seed. -
