Ohio State 2011 Off-Season Discussion

stroupsWith Sabino temporarily out Shazier saw time at the sam in the base defense. I look for him to get a decent amout of playing time this year. Barring any injuries I would imagine curtis grant gets redshirted. He is not going to push anybody for the starting job and I don't think the staff wants to make the same mistake they did with Sabino.
-
stroupsFreshman Michael bennett also received time with the ones today at dt which should provide great depth. Another kid who is being raved about and I think will end up being a stud.
-
jordo212000They were saying that Bauserman is pretty much a shoe-in for the starting QB job on Common Torg and the Torg. Both he and Miller have played well, but apparently Bauserman has been much more consistent.
-
WriterbuckeyeI don't think there's an OSU fan alive who will be shocked if Bauserman starts against Akron. However, if Miller doesn't get significant playing time in the game, there's probably going to be a lot of very pissed OSU fans.

Bo who was in for the Common Man, said that Bauserman has actually looked pretty solid and that he was pretty good QB while in HS. Said he would have been a solid prospect coming out of HS if he would have played football right away instead of baseball. He also said that he thinks getting 1st team snaps will only help Bauserman.
Torg wasnt nearly as upbeat -
jpake1Whoever earns it should play. First team reps will only help them out. Don't stunt growth by sharing 1st reps when it matters in the season.

Troy Smith threw for 896 yards his sophomore year, 2282 his junior year and 2542 his senior year. If Miller throws for 2300 yards his freshman year we will be much much better off than I expect.OneBuckeye;873392 wrote:Passing Yds: Miller 2300 yds

Also, just to add a little more, Pryor threw for 1311 his freshman year, 2094 his sophomore year and 2772 his junior year.FatHobbit;873438 wrote:Troy Smith threw for 896 yards his sophomore year, 2282 his junior year and 2542 his senior year. Yeah but you got to count the BIG champ game. So 13 vs 12 .FatHobbit;873441 wrote:Also, just to add a little more, Pryor threw for 1311 his freshman year, 2094 his sophomore year and 2772 his junior year. -

Troy and Pryor were also not full time starters their first year. (and it appears that Braxton won't be either) But I hope you're right!OneBuckeye;873443 wrote:Yeah but you got to count the BIG champ game. So 13 vs 12 . -

I LIKE Barnett. I think he's really good. But I also think he's lucky if he gets two. I'll say two (only because I think he's good).OneBuckeye;873658 wrote:Just a prediction. Thought a whole 2 minutes about it. Post yours. -

Apparently bucknuts is retarted (who knew?) and he has not commited. Although they still have it on their front page.OneBuckeye;873681 wrote:Adolphus Washington is a buckeye!!!! Hopefully Dwayne Stafford has a commitable offer and joins him asap. -
