2011 Michigan Recruiting

Apparently Brandon did no interviews according to Michigan spokesman Dave Ablauf. Of course, when asked if Brandon was in Dallas, he said he was on a need to know basis.

It has been a pretty quiet day. I'm thinking we will all know something tomorrow morning/early afternoon.

It's time for Les to leave Louisiana. They don't appreciate him there despite the fact he brought them National Championship.

CB cleared this up. There was a midunderstanding. What Ablauf meant was no interviews to the media today. Actually, no interviews to the media until it's done. Today was business as usual.

I agree with this. Miles is very underrated IMO.

And Tate Forcier is longer a student at the University of Michigan.

^^^Is that supposed to be *No longer?

That is correct. He is currently not listed as a UM student.

Well, that didn't take long as many of us UM and OSU fans alike predicted.

This is what the LSU Rivals mods have to say...
Based on phone calls today and discussions via text with multiple sources, it appears that it's probable that Les Miles is staying at LSU, but it's not done yet.

There are still some details to be worked out as Miles is certainly wanting some new things to be a part of these new negotiations.

Michigan is making a run at Miles, but if LSU officials stay on their current path of working with Miles, Michigan's athletics director Dave Brandon is going to have to start working hard on his third option.

I'm told that there is a time frame that everyone is working with and it's hoped that all of this back and forth will be done by Tuesday morning.

if UM doesnt get Miles...who the hell can they get? they'd essentially failed at two people who played there...I mean, if you played there, and its a great job...yeeeesh
  • mallymal614
This is starting to remind me of Notre Dame in 2005. Remember after they let Willingham go, about 10 guys were possible replacements and one by one, each guy would decline the job. I hope this ain't the same scenario.

Brady Hoke is the fallback and he would undoubtedly take the job.

Did he get the extension they were talking about?? If so, wonder what the buyout is.

I'm not aware of any extensions but I can guarantee that money would not be an issue with Hoke.

LSU fans are sweating because the UM plane is still in Baton Rouge and appears to be staying overnight. If it was over and Miles was staying at LSU, there would be no reason to stay.

Damn it Webbie, where do you get all of this information from?!? LOL

    Are you Dave Brandon?? haha

So maybe I'm not following this as clearly as I'd like, but who are the alumni blaming? Carr or Brandon?

    I assume Brandon?

and by blaming, I mean the apparent lack of interest in the job particularly if it falls to Hoke who could be had for a 12 pack and a box of porno mags.

I would say more Carr and his buddies.

Interesting tidbit from the Rivals chat session tonight...
BTW, I have talked with several coaches and parents of recruits and they are furious with David Brandon. They feel he does not understand their circumstances and put them in a tough position.

Talked with Dee Hart's coach after the game and he pretty much said "What is that AD thinking?" Had this change taken place last month, there is a good chance Hart, Frost, Crawford and several other big names would be in this class.
This is what we have all feared.

CB's nightly report says it could be Tuesday or Wednesday before Miles is announced, IF he is the one. Ugh.

I really do not understand what takes these guys so long. Hey Les, do you want to come back to AA, if so money and everything else will be taken care of if not see you later.

Although Wednesday at the Mich/OSU game would be a good time to announce it.
