Suspended players all coming back next season
-
WebFireThis is just just tOSU and Tressel making themselves look like good guys after a bad media event. What will be interesting is if they all honor that word and come back.

How does this make OSU look good at all? -
FatHobbitI'm ok with this. If they want to take the punishments next year and they promise to come back to serve it then let them play in the bowl game as the NCAA said they could. (even though I do think the only reason they get to play is for the bowls to make more money) If they want to go back on their word and bolt to the NFL, then I'll never cheer for them again. For whatever that's worth.

j_crazyi'm skeptical of this.

By making them make a "promise" to come back and serve their punishment. -
vball10setLOL--like your "wishful thinking" avatar (that is Harbaugh, right?), but as a Buckeye fan, I hope that's all it is

I don't know if it really makes them look god per se' but I would spin it this way...
It says, "For whatever reason, the NCAA felt you should be allowed to play in the bowl game, we however as a team, coaching staff, and team feel otherwise, we are prepared to enter the bowl game without your services and intend on doing so. What you did warrants a bowl game suspension. Should you wish to use the bowl game to showcase your abilities and bolt for the league, we'll not allow you to do that. It is important to the program that some sort of punishment be served for your transgressions, if you leave, then no penalty results and OSU along with you gets off scot free. This is unacceptable as a program whose base has been built on compliance and integrity."
"We'll allow you to play in the game if you commit to return and serve your suspension. This is of course non-binding and is only dependent on your word, it serves two purposes, it allows Ohio State to emerge as taking the infractions seriously, and it allows you to begin to regain credibility. Your word means more than you think it does."
I'm willing to bet that the thought process in this situation traveled this path. -
JU-ICESo they all come back, what happens if the suspensions stand, and the Bucks are 5-0 and rolling along? Do they jump right in and play or become 2nd teamers?
-
Tiernan
Absolutely not. Only Toilet Paper (TP) will really be missed. The others have replacements that might already be better.JU-ICE;618314 wrote:So they all come back, what happens if the suspensions stand, and the Bucks are 5-0 and rolling along? Do they jump right in and play or become 2nd teamers? -

Pryor, Adams & Posey play...Boom & Thomas not so much -
AutomatikThis sounds crazy....but a friend told me he read this on another forum/blog. I'll try to find a link...total hearsay.
He said its a possibility that they start Braxton Miller from day one and it stays that way. Pryor comes in after the 5th game as a wideout/H-back player to help his draft stock. Reasoning is....from what they already know, no one wants Pryor as a QB and they don't think he will progress enough in a year especially after sitting 5 games to change their mind.
What say you? I think its total BS....but you never know. -

this....but it makes for good conversationAutomatik;618341 wrote: What say you? I think its total BS....but you never know. -
AutomatikI just don't see Pryor accepting a position change next season, or even in the future.

Then he will never play in the NFL -

Increased draft stock and signing bonuses might open his eyes a little, given the current circumstances. -
UncleYoderSo what's to stop these guys from lying to the Vest so they can play, then saying I had to turn pro, my family needs the money?

mike's right. he will never be a star. but he will definitely get a look at the next level. -

Yeah you're probably right. I think he has the physical tools to get paid, but I'm not too sure in the brains department.ytownfootball;618358 wrote:Increased draft stock and signing bonuses might open his eyes a little, given the current circumstances. -
Ty WebbTerrelle Pryor will NEVER play QB in the NFL

He has to seriously consider the possibility that being drafted as a QB might be unrealistic, given the situation. What your plan was coming to OSU has now been compromised by your own actions. Do what you can to best help the team and increase your draft stock the best you can given 7 games. Money might be the only thing the dude can comprehend. -

Your .08% rate at being right about anything lends most to bet otherwise, but being right about this might bump you to 1.37% -

I'm surprised blanket is on here agreeing with him.
