Let me put it this way. Continue to beat around my question, or just answer the damn thing.

Can you name 5 better bowl matchups than #2 defense versus #10 offense?

And Arkansas' competition >> ND's competition this year. So while ND's defense was mediocre, Arkansas' was pretty good.

You guys win. I give up.

The Ohio State/Arkansas game will be the best game I've ever seen. You all know way more about college football than I do. The game will probably go down as the greatest college football game ever. And it's all because Arkansas' offense is great, and Ohio State's defense is amazing. I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat through the whole game!

Statistics and rankings don't always show the whole story.

In terms of BCS matchups, I think the Championship game will be a better game. And I think the Stanford/VaTech game will be a better game.

By better game, I mean closer...therefore, more interesting to people who aren't fans of the teams included.

The 2 games you mentioned opened with the same point spread as the OSO-Arkansas game. The odds makers disagree.

any way you slice it , the sugar bowl is still a meaningless bowl. they need both tteams at full strength to get any ratings

either way, if notre dame was taking their #2 defense against the 10 ranked offense of a school they were playing in the bcs( now obviously this is hypothetical because notre dame won't be in a bcs bowl for years) then I can almost garuntee you would be using those stats as a way to back up that the game is going to be a good, close game. Now is it going to be the best out of the bowl games? IMO no, but it's still going to be a close game and should be entertaining to watch.

That's where you're wrong...because honestly I wouldn't give a fuck if someone that wasn't a fan of either team thought the game was going to be close or a blowout. I guess you just can't win with some people. I'm sorry that I think Ohio State is going to beat the shit out of Arkansas. If it makes all you feel better...I'll tell you that I think it's going to be a close game, and come down to a last second score and it will go down as the greatest Sugar Bowl in the history of the NCAA. Does that make you feel better than me saying that I think...and many people that I talk to think...that Ohio State is going to blow out Arkansas and the game will be a snoozer?

I guess if you can't have the best team...having the distinction of the most entertaining bowl game is the next best thing in some of your minds?!

I really dont know why the Big Ten would be considered a favorite over the SEC ....The SEC IMO is the dirtiest confrence with shady things like the Newton thing going on all the time ...You mean to tell me that that guy didnt know anything about what went down with his father? LOL We people with a little bit of street smarts sure know that deal and I wager that guys family got some cash from Auburn ...Look at the dudes track record ..from Florida to Miss St to Auburn .......Right now I really dont care what the school or the NCAA does to Pryor and others ...They sold theyre own stuff a 5 game suspension is way too much penalty They disrespected Ohio state and the Big Ten confrence for selling the rings and the Michigan pants... thanks Pryor you probably ruined our shot at a national title next year and we are surely going to lose the Sugar Bowl and to another small state that carries the SEC banner ...totally disgusting .. sure Arkansas will use words like Mark May 's and make themselves out to be the poor little discriminated confrance for cannon fodder ..like they need extra..... I HOPE ALL YOU BUCKEYE FANS LIKE HEARING THE LETTERS SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC!!!!!!!! OVER AND OVER AGAIN! because that is what we are going to have to hear at the end of the Sugar bowl....

'Bout time you wised your ND lovin' ass up...OSU suspends the Six Prix and plays the entire game with back-ups and with 3 sec remaining Guiton scrambles and throws a 57 yd strike to Tuarean Washington for the go ahead TD and the story is used for decades afterwrds by coaches everywhere motivating their players to do the right thing and if you are a second teamer always be ready to step up and execute to the best of your ability. Tress becomes more of a legend than he already is and they rename Woody Hayes Dr to Tressel's Way (get it?).

Mark May...what does he know? He looks like an inverted ass hole that somehow manages to speak. peep peep
  • killer_ewok
Well, unless there's a big turnaround in this game.......I think somebody owes sherm an apology.
  • killer_ewok
Nevermind, Sherm. I don't think you'll be getting that apology as there has been a huge turnaround in this game.

Who cares a lick about Mark May. He's a piece of shit - literally.

The penalty the NCAA handed to the OSU players seems heavy handed when compared to some other violations. Just my opinion. But I will add that the investigation of Auburn/ Cam Newton is not closed. I think the NCAA has to find Cam Newton guilty of wrong doing. Otherwise the will have opened up a can of worms for the future in that athletes can simply say that they had no knowledge of anyone commiting a violation on thier behalf like Cam did.I think the NCAA will ultimately find him guilty and strip him of his awards and such, but not until all the money has stopped flowing into their coffers. Follow the MONEY,ALWAYS follow the MONEY.

During the postgame show last night, Reece Davis, Lou Holtz and Mark May were sitting at the desk with Jim Tressel and 5 OSU players standing behind them, interviewing all of them. The whole time they were interviewing them, I kind of wished Cameron Heyward would have just murdered Mark May right there on ESPN.

Haha that would work too, but I'm not sure there's really any more brain damage you can do lol.

Browning is a big MF and he was an imposing presence standing behind him at the desk

I used to think May just talked shit about OSU to get a rise out of Lou, but now I think he just HATES Ohio State--what an idiot!!!
  • krambman
I thought it was hilarious after the game when Tressel and the captains were in the stage with Reece, Lou, and Mark, and the Buckeye fans still in the stadium were chanting "Mark May sucks!" and were booing him so loudly anytime he spoke that you could barely hear him. It was awesome!
  • bigkahuna
I wish I could have seen that.
  • vball10set
me too- I went to bed to damn early!!!

    From the OSU Scout board;

I was at the game and near the ESPN set following the game. While I understand your concerns about Ohio State fans chanting "Mark May Sucks" (to the point where six mounted police were brought over to try to calm them down), I shall share with you something Coach Tressel did once the televised interview was over: he smiled and gave a "thumbs up" to the Ohio State contingent leading the chant!

He then went over to Mark May and spoke with him privately. As Coach Tressel approached, May extended his hand but Coach Tressel did not reciprocate. Whether he was simply clowning around with May I have no idea, but Coach Tressel was doing most of the talking while May sat there and listened. This is pure conjecture on my part but I suspect Coach Tressel was trying to provide May with some insights as to why he is so reviled by Ohio State fans.

Lol...can't imagine what a "Fuck you Mark May, you suck" in Tressel speak sounds like, apparently Mark May does however.
