Michigan vs. Mississippi State in Gator Bowl

RichRod said the coaches and the playres did not cheat the University of Michigan out of anything. The players and the coaches worked as hard as they possibly could each and every day. DAMN, imagine how much more ugly the past 3 years would have been if they weren't working their asses off on every play in every practice and every game.

I felt that if Rich Rod wanted to make a statement that he wanted to keep his job, he should have asked Robinson to resigh after the OSU game or fired him. Ifanything it would have at least shown those in charge that he was willing to make the changes necessary to put a winning team on the field.

if you can't get Harbaugh, who'd be your second choice?

If Harbaugh does not come I want RR to come back and to have a new Defensive coordinator.

^^^I think that'd be a prudent move, especially since the offensive personnel seems to be in place

Well I figure they won 7 games with the worst defense I have ever saw so if they get a good coordinator they will at least improve on defense since most the guys are coming back. Any improvement will get Michigan 8 or 9 wins next year IMO.

This. I don't think there is anybody else that would be an upgrade. Hoke is intriguing, but I don't think he is ready yet.

I don't think he's going anywhere right now.

The best D-coordinator in the country couldn't coach up the defensive players RichRod has recruited.

I don't think RRod does much recruiting on the D side. A good DC running his own non-3-3-5 system and being able to recruit his players would be a huge improvement.

This. Yes, the head coach recruits, but it's the assistances and position coaches that get the kids there. If you were a defensive recruit would you want to play for Greg Robinson? This is off topic, but I remember kids in high school not playing because they didn't like the head coach. My response was "You're a (something besides QB/RB), you would only really see him on game day." That's how it is at any level. You're closest to your position coach, then the other position coaches on your own side of the ball, the coordinator you play for, the the coaches on the other side of the ball/head coach.

Well good news for UM fans as Carolina is apparently Hell-bent on finding an NFL assistant to take over for Fox. So Harbaugh to Carolina seems out.

Robinson should be the first person cut loose come Monday. Then if you can't get Harbaugh, keep Rodriguez and do a thorough search for a D coordinator that actually has a clue.

No wonder Michigan has problems, they don't have a head coach. ALL top head coaches are at least the deal closer. You think Tressel doesn't recruit defensive players??

It's not that uncommon for the head coach to favor offense or defense. He relies on his defensive staff to recruit the defensive players. That doesn't mean he isn't involved at all. The problem(s) is they are running the wrong defense with young kids and not so good defensive coaching.

The HC is the bait that attracts the fish in the first place. Asst Position Coaches only reel 'em in once they bite.

No trophy fish were swimming anywhere near DickRod's little bait.

I agree the system that is inplace would work if they had some experienced kids but another new system and younger kids this year was not the answer IMO.
