Navy vs. Army version 111
-
ptown_trojans_1Holy shit. What a backbreaker.
Army QB goes in for the score and the ball is simply taken from him and a 97 yard fumble return for Navy.
23, 24 pending the kick-7. -
brutus161That just happened!

Con_AlmaYikes. Ugly sloppy game.
Army really looked like they were pressing ...very early on.
Navy looked very un-Navy like. Looking to take advantage of the single coverage in the secondary and not forcing the issue with the triple option.
They had problems with the mesh point all night and I still don't think Ricky Dobbs is 100% healthy. He didn't look the same.
At the end of the day it's 9 in a row.
On to San Diego which will be very ugly if the Midshipmen play like they did yesterday. -
FootwedgeOne play ruined a true classic. It should have gone down to the wire.

No, CBS's coverage ruined a true classic. Why they needed to go to commercial before the Alma Mater's were played/sung is beyond me (they occur right after the game), but they never came back on the air after the audio difficulties and went on to the evening news (or at least it was like that on the Columbus broadcast.) Even with no ties to any branch of the US Armed Forces, I look forward to the respect shown between the two teams, and it pissed me off. -

I got to see both alma maters. Maybe it was just the Columbus broadcast. -
Con_AlmaOne of the best ever from this rivalry had the following to say.
"Those guys are good," said senior linebacker Stephen Anderson, who will never know what it's like to beat Navy. "Those guys are going to be my future brothers-in-arms, so as much as I hate to say it, I've got nothing but respect for those guys." -
Con_AlmaThis was the difference in the game in my opinion.
"...Second-year head coach Rich Ellerson has installed a Double-Eagle Flex defense that is susceptible to the pass and the Midshipmen were confident they could exploit that weakness.
"In Coach Ellerson's package they play a lot of man-to-man. They have a high-pressure defense that crowds the line of scrimmage and we tried to take advantage of that," Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo said. "We knew they would be one-on-one outside and felt we had some matchups we could take advantage of."..."
