Wow, thats fucking impressive! I say he BCS overlooks the loss and puts them in the title game for winning the freaking WAC! lol Come on man, I am not sure what your argueing about here. Boise is what they are...and what many of us have said.

BTW, I hope your comment about BCS passing up OSU (if they win today) was sarcasm. You know as well as I do...that will NEVER happen. So NO, its really not possible in reality.
After this loss, Boise should drop below every one loss team IMO. Which would then put them out of the top 10 btw.

I didnt say the deserved to be in the title game? have you started drinking a bit early this morning? I said I thought they should get picked for a better bowl then the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl if anything.

And after losing on the road to a top 25 team, I dont think they should drop behind EVERY 1 loss team. Because I highly doubt losing to #19 is the worst loss among 1 loss teams. And where did i say the BCS was gonna pass up on OSU? lol are you seeing things im not

I realize you didn't, that was MY sarcasm! ;) And its not that the loss to Nevada was a bad loss, it wasn't. Although when your FAVORED to win by 14pts....
Its the rest of their resume', playing in the WAC that is the issue. I believe teams that play in the Big Ten, SEC and Big12, who have one loss...are more deserving of a higher ranking based on what I and others have stated about the week in and week out competition compared to what Boise plays.
And you didn't say the BCS was going to pass up OSU. You said its possible. Well, in LaLa land it is. In reality, its not. ;)

Exactly, this is a point that I said earlier in the season. It's not that teams like Boise State and TCU are bad teams. It's that we don't know how good they actually are because week in and week out they don't face the same level of competition. They aren't playing teams with the same level of athletes and guys big enough to seriously test them every week.

Yes, and when the game is over by halftime most weeks. Your team doesn't deal with that mental and physical beating part of the game as well. Thus, they are pretty damn fresh at seasons end.

Come on..I'll admit I thought Boise was legit. But they just lost to the freakin' Nevada Wolfpack..you know..the same Nevada team that lost to Hawaii LOL..lets not act like Nevada is really a legit team just because they are ranked. UCF was ranked a couple weeks ago..Northern Illinois will probably be ranked after this week, hell Ohio is even getting votes(even though they wont be anymore after that loss to kent state)..you know the same Ohio team that was spanked by OSU 40-something to 7. Just because you play in a weak conference and become ranked dont make you a legit team.

...and when you play the schedule they do, and you want to be considered for a title shot, you damn well better blow the doors off Nevada. Please don't give me the bullshit about an Illinois comparison the fuckin Ohio State, Ohio State didn't play a damn WAC schedule all season.

"And after losing on the road to a top 25 team, I dont think they should drop behind EVERY 1 loss team."

Who would you put them ahead of? If MSU beats Penn St. I think they should be ranked ahead of Boise, given that they just won the Big 10 (ditto with OSU and Wisky). Okie St. would win the Big 12 south if they beat Okie today. They'll definitely fall behind Stanford and LSU assuming they win.

How many 1 loss teams do you think there are?

Gee was right. Glad overrated Boise lost as well. That said, that was a fun game to watch, glad I stayed up to see it. Someone should keep the Boise kicker on suicide watch.
  • Fly4Fun
Should they be behind Nevada? I mean Nevada did just beat them in head to head competition ;)

Big Ten doesn't tiebreak their champions either, and I've always thought it was dumb. There is only tiebreakers to determine which co-champion goes to the BCS games.

Thank god that gets remedied next year by virtue of a Championship game.

I said at the beginning of the season that Boise State would fall to Fresno or Nevada. By this point I didn't think it would happen.

When was the last time a team who had a shot at the National Championship Game are now not even conference winners and looking at the Humanitarian Bowl? Damn, thats harsh.

Great game, but Boise showed why it doesn't belong.

Disagree, if you have the same record you should share the title. Just because a team might win a head to head competition, by not sharing the title you're telling the entire league that the other game (the loss) doesn't count. Every game should count.

That's especially true with basketball where you can lose two games head to head - and that would mean the "co-champion" would have two games not count.

I'm shocked that Boise lost this game but I really don't understand how people are now saying that Boise=terrible. They lost to a top 20 football team on the road. Some of you guys get locked in 1994 sometimes. Just because Nevada doesn't have black and white footage at the Rose Bowl doesn't mean they don't have a good team/good program.

Boise is still a great team, they just blew it in this game. Now they will likely be resigned to some bowl game before Christmas, which is a shame. But hey, that's the cards their dealt and they didn't make the best of them.

This was Nevadas first win over a top 10 team......EVER.

You telling me that losing to Nevada is the same as losing to Wisky, or Bama, or something like that? Or that had Boise beat Nevada, it would have been a better win than Arizona or Iowa?

ya, and ohio state lost to purdue last year.... people have bad games and nevada is a good team

And that took them out of the title game picture.

    What's your point?
  • athlete37
My point was it's not an awful loss. No they shouldn't be in consideration for the NC Game, but they're not complete fakes. If you do wanna go that route tho, the Illinois team OSU lost to at home in November of 2007 was unranked. OSU still went to the title. Different year, but still
