Week 12: (8) Ohio State def. (21) Iowa, 20-17

LeonardoBig game taking place in Iowa City
3:30 PM kickoff on ABC -
believerWhy do I have visions of another Wisconsin game flashing through my head?
Iowa can regain a measure of respect and position themselves for a better bowl game by beating the Buckeyes.
If the Buckeyes play a full 4 quarters like they did against Penn State then no problem. But if Iowa comes out and makes the Buckeyes look as inept as they did in the first half against Penn State, this will be loss number two. -
darbypitcher22Bucks need a 1st drive similar to what they had last week that results in a TOUCHDOWN this time and then work from there
-
vball10setfeeling pretty confident about this one...both teams have played enough games that they pretty much know what each other has, and the Buckeyes just have a little bit more. IMO, OSU has finally found their identity (run the ball to set up the pass), something that was severely missing until the second half of the Wisky game.

Your are one of the more negative OSU fans on the site. It seems like every game so far this season you have a "bad feeling" about the game.
Also, you state that OSU played a full 4 quarters against PSU but then later say they looked inept in the first half? Seems a bit contradictory. -
Y-Town SteelhoundNovember is Ohio State's month. Let's hope they can continue building off of the 2nd half of the Penn State game. The Buckeyes have had this one circled on the schedule for a while so the hope is that they'll be more focused coming out of the gate.
-
thedynasty1998I can't see OSU losing this game, however the thing that makes me more nervous than anything is that Iowa is coming off of a lose. Best case scenario would have been they spanked Northwestern. Now they might come in refocused and pissed off.
Look at what they did after the Wisconsin loss, they played their best game of the year. -
j_crazyI like the buckeyes here. but it is a big game on the road so we should all stifle our victory cheers just yet...
-
ptown_trojans_1I'm nervous, but not as nervous as I was for the Wisconsin game.
It all depends on which OSU teams and which Pryor shows up.
If we get the OSU team that played like they did in the 1st half against Penn St, it will be a long night.
But, if OSU establishes the run with Boom and Pryor makes smart decisions, I could see OSU pulling away late. -

I'm guessing he meant they need to play like they played in the 2nd half for the full four quarters.
I was a little surprised that Northwestern beat Iowa last week. Gives me more hope for us. It is at Iowa, but I have a feeling the Bucks will pull this one out. -
OneBuckeyeIowa has looked like a pile of crap vs Indiana and Northwestern. OSU plays like crap on the road. I think OSU wins it, but it will be close, the thing that gives me confidence is that Stanzi is the one throwing the ball for Iowa he has been terrible of late. OSU needs to pass to win that seems to have been Iowa's weakness of late.

0311sdpHaving watched most of Iowa's games this season, they are not very good, just an average team. If the Bucks show up and play they should have no trouble winning this game. Michigan because of their offense is more scary than Iowa. I think the Woverines could give Wisconsin a rough way to go Saturday and with NW's Persa being injured are the best hope for the Bucks of Wisconsin losing a game to send OSU to the Rose Bowl.

ytownfootballJim Tressel jumped on the Bucks at half time during the PSU game...coming out of the gate sloppy, uninspired. Very much out of his norm. He opened their eyes to what they were potentially throwing away by their lack of effort. As long as JT has been at OSU, I don't recall him blowing a gasket, at least not that has been reported. I think this team needed to see a little fire from JT and know that he is capable of being pissed off, especially in regards to their performance/effort.
I think he'll remind them of the commitment they've made to play at Ohio State and their responsibilities...I don't think they come out of the gate looking as badly as they did the first half against Penn State the rest of the season. -

Lets hope not. OSU has had a tendency to come out in games uninspired (Wisconsin). I think the guys try and take on the unemotional form of tressel sometimes and it hurts them, I would love to see more intensity at times. Last years rose bowl was the most intense I have seen our defense play in the past 5 years.ytownfootball;559124 wrote:Jim Tressel jumped on the Bucks at half time during the PSU game...coming out of the gate sloppy, uninspired. ytownfootballIt's the only fault other than some goal line play calling, that I have with Trressel, is that he seems not to recognize that his players take on his business like persona. They need fired up once in awhile, hopefully this was it. Unfortunately, it needed to happen prior to entering Camp Randall.
-
sjmvsfscs08I'd take Ohio State in this one. But Ohio State hasn't played anyone as of late, and if Iowa comes out quickly and punches them right in the jaw, it could be Wisconsin part deux. Sometimes it's tough to match the intensity and toughness of a team who's been losing/playing close games and it can be a bit of a trap. In that respect, I think the Penn State scare is the best thing that could have happened to the Buckeyes.
Ohio State, 31-20. -

agree 100% Play calling/execution in the opening drives games is an issue to me too. I just haven't figured out which one it is. -
bo shemmy3337I think It is going to be a close game because Iowa plays good defense and OSU has very predictable play calling. JT is going to realize that his team is not bigger and faster than every team they encounter. JT is a great coach don't get me wrong but he needs some help with his play calling IMO.

You're not the only one. -
jordo212000I'm not 100% confident about this one, Iowa City is a tough place to play
-
hoops23The one thing that worries me is Iowa is coming off a loss and to this point, a disappointing season. This will be their "National Championship" in my eyes.
Ohio State has to come out MUCH better than they did against PSU. Point blank. -

Produce a link where I aid the Buckeyes played a full 4 quarters against PSU. You can't because I never said it. You want to hammer on my Buckeye skepticism...fine. But at least have your facts straight.Fly4Fun;558988 wrote:Your are one of the more negative OSU fans on the site. It seems like every game so far this season you have a "bad feeling" about the game.

Done....its not a link...but its just as effective.
Just kidding, I get what you are saying..... -
gerb131Bucks will get it done by 17 or more if Boom carries it 23 or more times.
