Week 11: Notre Dame def. (15) Utah, 28-3
-
karen lotzWell so much for that theory. Another uninspiring 3 and out.
-
karen lotzDammit Brain Smith. Should have been been a pick 6. Defense is looking very good so far
THERE WE GO ROBERT BLANTON!!!!!! -
grodtAlthough it was largely Jonas Grey, the offense looked a lot better that drive.
-
karen lotzYeah Jonas Gray gave them a huge spark there. Great job by Floyd peeling back to get Gray to the corner and then Kumara was doing a good job downfield as well. Couldn't really ask for a better response after the first 3 drives.
-
sherm03Utah is killing themselves with penalties so far.
But I'm ok with that. I will take a win any possible way we can get it this week! -
karen lotzNice. Notre Dame is now using the cards similar to what Oregon does. Rex Ryan on the first one.
-
cbus4lifeImpressed, overall, with Notre Dame today.

Offense is shaky. If it wasn't for one long run by Jonas Grey...we'd be looking at 7-3 right now.
Overall, though, I'm happy. I'll take an ugly win. -
karen lotzUtah looks like shit. I think they had 10 penalties and at least 5 of them were false starts. I do agree that the defense has played well so far. They are getting after Wynn and he looks like he wants no part of any contact. Gotta keep it up as I'm sure Utah will come out and play a better half.
-
sherm03GREAT WAY TO START THE SECOND HALF!!!!!!!
-
karen lotzWOW. ND finally getting some breaks and taking advantage of them. Utah fumbles second half kick off and Rees hits a streaking Duval Kumara on the next play for a TD.
-
karen lotzRees to Kamara again. Great drive mixing in run and pass. 28-3.
-
sherm03Gary Gray blows the tackle and allows Utah to convert on 4th and 4.
I guess not all of the ND players can play lights out at the same time. -
sherm03Just had to call him out...LOL.
Gray makes two good defensive plays on third and goal and fourth and goal to force the turnover. Irish ball deep in their own territory. -
karen lotzOh yeah? How about 2 good plays of pass defense by Gray on 3rd and 4th down??
-
karen lotzJINX
-
karen lotzGreat run and cutback by Wood there. Irish take a 28-3 lead into the 4th quarter.

Good game for the recruits to see. -
vball10setThe Irish are looking awesome--and people thought I was nuts hyping them up during the week...keep your foot on their throat, BK!!!
-
sherm03I honestly never dreamed this game would be turning out like this. It has been complete domination by ND today. I just wanted them to keep it close...but these young guys look great!
The future is bright at ND...and the future started today! -
killer_ewokIt figures.....I missed the last several minutes of the 1st half and the first several minutes of the 2nd half due to family event and ND is actually beating a ranked team. Incredible. I listened to the 2 2nd half TD's on the radio in my car on the way home.
You've GOT to feel good for all of these ND players but ESPECIALLY the Seniors. They get to go out winners in their last home game. Winners against a ranked team. I didn't think ND could stop Utah's offense today. Boy was I wrong. At the risk of getting ahead of myself......ND certainly can make a bowl game now with a win next week and I don't think USC is a sure loss anymore either. The next couple weeks will be interesting. I'm going to savor this win. We haven't seen this in a while. -
Fly4FunGood win for Notre Dame...
But the question is does Utah completely drop out of the top 25 now? If so, this really doesn't help the argument for the non-AQ schools. -
killer_ewokI'm also amazed at HOW ND won today. They absolutely out-physicaled Utah. What a rush our D-Line got today. Outstanding job by them. Is Tommy Rees the answer? I don't know. He did well with the few opportunities that he was given to make plays. I guess we'll find out in due time.
