Week 8: (10) Ohio State def. Purdue, 49-0

  • jordo212000
Bittersweet win today. I mean it was an impressive victory, but today's game just showed me the level at which they are capable of playing. They do this every single season. They sandbag through the first few weeks, move up in the polls, lose to somebody they shouldn't, and then they come out and finish the season strong. It's like clockwork. They have no swagger or aggression until after they get beat.

Yep. It looks like Wisconsin might for real though. If they are able to hold on and beat Iowa they win the Big Ten imo.

I have no question that Wisky is pretty good. But still not excuse for OSU to show up as they did last week. Getting beat is one thing, to show up as OSU did...is another. As Jordo said..OSU did as I expected them to do today. Still doesn't take away the sting from last week though. Going to take winning out to do that.

I agree with that. They looked flat and unprepared to play that game. I'm actually surprised to see Wisconsin play this well today, I didnt think they were this good.

Wisconsin is a very good team. Not saying they aren't. My point is that Ohio State is the more talented team. You line up 22 guys on a sideline between the two teams and Ohio State has better players pound for pound IMO. However none of that matters because they got outcoached and were out"manned" by Wisconsin. Wisconsin came at us with men and boys football and we wanted no part of it.

    Definitely out played anyway.

Point is moot. All the Buckeyes can hope for at this point is a share of the Big 10 title and a BCS bowl bid. They pissed their NC hopes down the crapper at Wisconsin.

The Buckeyes were definitely outmanned against Wisconsin. Outmanned in the most important place, the offensive and defensive lines. That and Tolzien can complete a pass when they really need it. Our QB can not.

As for today's game, I was unimpressed with everything except Boom Herron. The second half of the last game and the first half of this one he finally looks like he wants to play, even breaking a tackle here and there. Otherwise, it was Purdue. Pryor should put up some numbers against Purdue. He shouldn't throw 2 picks though. The defense should shut down a freshman QB, and they did. Doesn't change the fact that they got bent over like bitches a week ago.

Coach Little Game was back where he usually does his best work.

The only thing you were impressed with was Boom?? I thought their defense did OK. First team defense not letting Purdue across midfield all game was a little impressive, don't you think? I realize Purdue sucks but to do that against ANYBODY is quite an accomplishment.

Ya, i agree. I htink ClevBuck, like most of us, is still pissed about Wisky. But that first half yesterday was a clinic on both sides of the ball. Second half...who cares. Game was over at that point so that second half didn't mean anything to met. But I was impressed that OSU came out and did what they did. Coming off that Wisky loss...they could have easily come out very flat. If this team doesn't win out the regular season, I'll be extremely disappointed.

Only impressed with Boom lol jesus christ dude they won 49-0
  • Cleveland Buck
The defense played very well, but we know that if Purdue had an offensive line they would have blown our guys off the ball and run at will.

    I can't disagree.

Little disapointed in TP telling the press "if we play Wisconson 10 times we beat 'em 9" after yesterday's game. Really makes you look stupid to say shat like that.

you dont think the Buckeyes played easily their worst game of the year against them? I would say they would probably win 7 of 10.

I don't give a shit how many they would win out of 10....I wanted ONE W last week.

I couldn't even get up for the game yesterday. Sure....happy with the win, but still salty about last week. Same shit different year. Illinois, Purdue, now Wisky.

Yeah...by the tune of 31-18 in front of a national TV audience. I highly doubt anyone outside the state of Ohio would agree that Ohio State is the better team.

I think talent wise....OSU is better, obviously. They came out flat and got smacked in the mouth. Talent doesn't mean shit when you play with no heart.

Wow. It really shows how spoiled we are as fans when, in a game where we are up 42-0 at half time, only one person impresses you.

Jeez. We got dominated ONE time and now you act like our defensive line is terrible. By this logic, Drew Brees must be a horrible QB because he is getting owned by the Browns.

...and if my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle----that's like saying that "if we had a Dline last week we would have stopped Wisky at will"
