Week 8: (10) Ohio State def. Purdue, 49-0

  • Leonardo
Purdue is coming off wins over Northwestern and Minnesota, while Ohio State looks to recover from the road loss to Wisconsin.

Purdue upset Ohio State last year in West Lafayette, 26-18.

Ohio State will be down after losing to Wisky, but will pull this one out late

    Purdue 21

I will be there...yippie(not nearly as excited since they decided to take yesterday off). Anyhow, I look for this to be 3 touchdown win for the Bucks...Purdue is pretty bad again and it is a home game.

OSU rebounds, albeit with some nervous moments at time.
    35-14 or something like that.

Sneaky game for the Buckeyes. If they come out flat then its a 4 quarter game for them, if not then they put Purdue away early. Going with the second option 34-16

Jesus Christ.....when you pick OSU to lose or struggle every week, you are going to be right every once in awhile; but do you really think OSU is going to struggle with Purdue this week? I think they are going to take out a lot of frustration on Purdue.

    Ohio State- 44
    Purdue- 14

It's going to take me a while to get emotionally invested in Ohio State again. We see the same crap every year. They play it close to chest in the early going, lose a game they shouldn't, and then Tress takes the training wheels off, gets more aggressive, and they sweep the rest of the Big 10 slate convincingly, and then play their bowl game.

I mean, yesterday's loss is a lot on the players. They didn't have their heads in the game and were blown out. Tressel couldn't be on the field and make the tackles that many OSU defenders were not making.

Wisky won the battle in the trenches, which is why OSU lost the game.

Coaches need to adjust. Coaches need to hire a special teams coach. They need to hire somebody to call plays (vanilla play calling and settling for FGs and punts isn't getting it done)

You are right though, the loss is largely on the players. The d-line was garbage, but let's not act like Tress and the staff pitched a perfect game either.

Game fact: Purdue's starting safety, Logan Link, is a West Liberty-Salem graduate. Grew up less than an hour from OSU.

    OSU by 4 TD's.

You mean 9 field goals correct?...it is tressel ball

I agree completely, Tressel needs to hire a ST coach and an O-coordinator. And I do blame the coaches somewhat for the loss, but the players played like shit ultimately and the line (both sides) looked like little kids against adults.

It's gonna be interesting to see what the Bucks do on defense w/ Homan and Bryant being out. I'm guessing Oliver will be the Star and Sweat will start in Homan's position??

I'd love to see Sabino, but I think he banged Tress' wife... er I mean he's being redshirted

Purdue has 2 freshmen from Daytona Beach starting. OJ Ross and Ricardo Allen. I hope they don't get hurt while the Buckeyes win by 28

There is a different Special Teams coach this year as opposed to the past 9 years?

Did I say that? Think and read before you post. I said he needs to hire a ST coach, not that there is a different one. I don't even understand why you are asking the question. He needs an o-coordinator and a ST coach.

So what is the deal with student tickets?? This is my first time with student tickets. I have heard several different things...

I've heard that as long as you have someone's Buck ID, you're good. I've even heard of people passing the ID's back through the gates for their buddies.

But then I have also heard that you have to have YOUR Buck ID to get in.
