I doubt that. This Auburn team isn't half as good as the 2006 Gators.

The offense is better....defense is a tad bit worse

I agree with this. The SEC is down....lots of parity.

Florida's defense was nasty in 2006. Auburn's defense this year is putrid.

    BCS National Championship-Updated
    #1 Auburn Vs #2 TCU

    Rose Bowl
    Wisconsin vs Oregon

    Fiesta Bowl
    Nebraska vs Boise State

    Orange Bowl
    Pitt vs VT

    Sugar Bowl
    LSU vs Stanford

Do you have OSU beating Iowa to get Wisc. to Rose Bowl? If Iowa, MSU, and Wisc win out, MSU goes to Rose Bowl because of tiebreakers.

No....I have Iowa beating OSu and Michigan State losing to someone else

That arguement is what's wrong with CFB

It's the truth though. The BCS is about $ not football.

I agree, but it is a fact of life. CFB is a bigtime business.

Do you have them losing to Purdue or Penn State?

An epic game similar to Texas-USC? That was the 2006 BCS National Title game

    NC Oregon v. Auburn
    Orange: VT v. Pitt
    Sugar: LSU v. OSU
    Rose: Wisconsin v. TCU
    Fiesta: Stanford v. Nebraska

Boise's consolation prize would be either the Kraft Hunger Bowl or the possibly the New Mexico Bowl. That's a huge drop off in both money and prestige for a team that has gone undefeated.

Honestly this is a possibility. There are 10 BCS spots available, and there are six automatic bids. That leaves room for four at-large teams. The way the system is set up is a team from a non-AQ conference finishes in the top six they automatically get in, but only one gets an auto-bid if more than one non-AQ finish that high, so in the current system TCU would automatically get in. If Oregon is in the championship game then the Rose Bowl has to select them. That leave three at-large bids available. Only two teams from any conference can get into the BCS. It's possible that the BCS bowls could select teams from the SEC, Big Ten, and Pac-10 to fill those final three spots and leave Boise out in the cold. The bowls can choose any eligible team (top 16) to fill the empty spots. The bowl want to maximize viewership and revenue, so they'll choose the teams they think will do that.
believer;549037 wrote:While I understand the conference tie-in on the bowl games, a Pitt vs. VT Orange Bowl will only serve to prove once again what a sham the BCS system is. If Boise goes undefeated and doesn't get a BCS bowl invitation it would be bullshit of the highest quality.

That's because you don't understand the BCS system. The BCS is not designed to give you the five best possible match ups in it's bowl games. It is designed to do two things. 1. Match the top two teams in the country in the National Championship game. 2. Provide a pool of eligible teams for the BCS bowls to selects from as their participants. In the old system, before the BCS, there would have been no chance of Boise, TCU, or anyone else from another conference possibly being selected by one of the major bowls. At least now they have a chance to get in. Before 1998 they could have won 100 games in a row in never played in a major bowl game (see BYU c. 1994).

I like the matchup they are showing of OSU/LSU.

Boise State will not be left out of the BCS if they are undefeated....it just won't happen. If they try that, they will get alot of shit not just from Boise, but from alot of bigger schools too

LSU would beat OSU by atleast a TD

Nah, it seems to be a consensus around the country. I still think it is the best conference top to bottom...just not as dominant.

Coming from the guy who said, "Nobody will come within 2 TDs of Bama," I think thats a good sign for OSU fans.

I'm a huge OSU fan, but it is would be wrong to have OSU ahead of Boise in the at-large bids. Boise going unbeaten and not in a BCS bowl game at all is messed up.

7 ranked teams doesnt sound dominant to me either...................................seriously!
Every year this stuff is posted. I think everyone from Ohio wants this conference to fail. As Ive said many times, no one will dethrone the SEC as the top conference. No cycles and no parity.

That's what Big 10 fans once believed.
