Who would you rather have: Denard Robinson or Taylor Martinez?

Im embarrassing myself because im saying at the same point in their careers one player is putting up better numbers then the other?

Kinda like all those OSU fans must of been "embarrassing themselves" during the off season threads where they were saying Pryor is on pace to be better than Vince?

why would I think that? where in the hell did that come from??

So what about the crystal balls that say Denard will get hurt in the Big 10? Please, that was a terrible argument. Football is full of predictions and comparisons. How many games do you think Michigan loses this year?

Because I said TP was still trying to find his upswing, and you asked why.

    I think they'll go 8-4

please define his "upswing"? this should be good.....

OMG. Really? Do you know what upswing is?

Yes or no. Denard's upswing is more than TP's?

So where did you get that? You have a crystal ball or something.

See how that works? It has nothing to do with UM losing.

What numbers are you talking about? Wins and losses? ;) Completely different systems, coaching philosophies...no way can you compare numbers of these two players.

I know what the definiton of "upswing" is, I just found it hilarious that you used it in reference to Pryor in your post. I'd like to hear what YOUR definition is, and why you feel he's still "trying to find it".....women

Maybe not the rushing, but hes right on pace with passing as well :P

I think they are comparable in their development. But again, this was the first decent defense that Robinson went against today. He threw 3 picks against it. Last year, Pryor struggled at times against good defenses as well. This year, Pryor is leaps and bounds from where he was last year. He has control of the offense, is able to read defenses and spreads the ball all over the field. He still has his moments on a couple passes a game. But overall, his improvement is very impressive IMO. He will never have the rushing numbers that Robinson has had...thats not the OSU system. But last week, Pryor had 100yds rushing and Tressel said he called on 2 rushing calls for Pryor to run. That tells you what he would be capable of doing if he has been in a RichRod system. When their careers are over...Robinson will have many more rushing yards and Pryor will have many more passing yards IMO. Its just the difference in the systems. Currently, there is no question that Pryor is a much more polished QB. But he has a year on Robinson as well.
  • WebFire
Why? Because you think Pryor has no upswing? You think he's as good as he gets?

You seem really dense tonight. Did you dye your hair blonde?

    Pryor >>>>>>>> DR.

QBing is more than scrambling against bad defenses.

Also, of course Michigan fans would take DR over Taylor. If Taylor were in Maize and Blue, they'd be slobbing all over him.

I agree that the rushing numbers are obviously gonna be in DR's favor because of the system and the amount of carries that DR gets in the Rich Rod offense. But the passing, honestly this year i see DR equaling that of TP's sohompre year or coming very very close to doing so.

Next year though DRs jr year compared to TP this year I think the total yards will be close to even but TP will have a significant advantage in the passing yards, OSU seems to be trusting TP to drop back and pas thsi year and hes not disappointing

This post makes you look real ignorant if you think thats all DR does.

Maybe so. But like today...UM could be playing from behind MUCH more then OSU/Pryo did. So UM will be forced to open it up and throw the ball quite a bit. And just like today..OSU was up big at half. Pryor had almost 300yds passing already. Tressel shut it down in the second half.
Thats why its tough to compare just numbers.

Holy hell, this thread had NOTHING to do with TP. Another case of trolling derailing a discussion between 2 QB'S not named Terrelle Pryor.
  • Fly4Fun
Eh, let's face it. It's an Ohio based board. Almost every discussion is going to somehow turn into involving OSU.

I get annoyed when people constantly act surprised that on an Ohio based message board the majority of discussion of college football tends to come back to Ohio State when Ohio state football is easily the biggest sport team in a HUGE football crazy sport state.
  • ts1227
It's an Ohio based board, but look how it got inserted into the conversation here... it didn't just work it's way in gently over time (which happens a lot due to the demographics, obviously) and the conversation continues rationally, it was shoehorned in by a troll and it made the conversation start to fall apart and turn into a pissing match. Those are two completely different things.

Just because there are more people who root for one team over the other doesn't equate to free reign to ravage every thread not involving it.

Hey ...OSU and UM FANS were rationally discussing, on a civil bases DR and TP. Not just OSU fans.
