Brutus and the Ohio mascot.

Curly JIt was the OC where the OG's would hang out, in the days prior to the dreaded day of the Certified Letter. BAAAHHH
Freehuddle was the first name of Ohio Chatter, but had to change it's name for legal reasons.
And I mentioned it in thie earlier post due to krazie mentioning huddle, then later Freehuddle, in his Capitol one thread. -
Fly4Fungcate;492637 wrote:OK I'm new to the forum, what is Freehuddle? Google search came up empty.
Freehuddle is a defunct forum.
JJHuddle was a site that we all posted on until it went to pay, then no pay, then 1 time lifetime fee, then no pay... then monthly payments. At that point we all said screw it and left and started this site to be run by the miscreants that made JJhuddle what it was. FreeHuddle was what this site was originally called, but we changed the name to differentiate our site from theirs. -
gcateThanks for clearing that up, hate that I have been missing out on everything, a Buckeye lost down in Volunteer land.

Down in Volunteer Land...I lived out side of Knoxville myself back in the late 70's. Welcome to OC !!! -
IliketurtlesHaha I was in Knoxville for the Oregon game... And Fly that was the best explaination.
Krazie's when I first heard about this I seriously thought of you and was like it'd be hilarious if it was him in the brutus outfit. -

Uhh, I would say its pretty feasible. It's not that hard to check student records when they are trying out for something. -

I'm not saying it's hard..I'm saying it never happens. -

To be fair, he was a student when he began as the mascot (last year).
OU Athletics (actually I think Rufus falls under Marketing's umbrella) did goof up by not catching that he was no longer a student. I will give them some benefit of the doubt, as the quarter was still only 1-2 weeks old, and often times people aren't technically "enrolled" due to financial bullshit holding things up for a week or two. Class enrollments are still wide open for the first 2 weeks of the quarter, and student status is very much in flux at the time. -
Big GainSounds like a good way for a terrorist to blow up a football stadium.

Oh I understand....this stuff hasn't changed since the dinosaurs and I roamed South Green in the early 80's.ts1227;493025 wrote:To be fair, he was a student when he began as the mascot (last year).

All I'm saying is someone in Cutler Hall didn't do their homework on this one and it blew up on them. -

I'm sure a PM to Krazie would work. Hope web redemption and a large appearance fee for Krazie is nighJeffatTheBBC;492556 wrote:Sorry if this isn't the time or place for this....
I got an email from a staffer with the Comedy Central show "Tosh 2.0", and they are looking for Brutus, presumably for a Web Redemption. I am not interested in stalking krazie, I'm just trying to pass along info....I also informed the staffer that Ohio State rules will most likely forbid Brutus from appearing without consent of the school.
I'll be happy to provide Rachel's info so she can be contacted regarding Tosh 2.0, but I obviously don't want to do that in a public forum. "]Email me at the link and I'll set you up with the right info.
Sorry, thank you, and GO BUCKS! -

This makes a lot of sense. If he was a student all last year and since classes just started, it is very possible that he was still in the system. I was also my college's mascot, and at my school I was an athletic department employee. I had to clock in and clock off on a computer before and after every event. I know that at a lot of schools being the mascot is a paid job and at some it's a scholarship position. Either way, you'd have to be a current student with a valid ID number and an active student account to clock in and off or to have your scholarship applied to your account. However, like you said, nothing is really set usually until the second week of the quarter, so it's possible that no one had realized yet that he wasn't a current student since he was a student when he got the job. -

First, the show is called Tosh.0, not Tosh 2.0.
Second, why and how did they contact you? -

And where did I say anything about Krazie suing anyone? You quoted my post, could you be bothered to read it?SportsAndLady;492474 wrote:All I'm saying is there is no point in suing over a mascot fight...it's a fucking mascot fight. -

Methinks OSU has imposed some sort of gag order on Krazie regarding this, I guarantee it never gets to Tosh other than just a clip of what happened.... no redemption. How much did you get paid to be the battling bishop? -

Eh you may be right, but I'm sure if Krazie really wanted to do it he could work something out with OSU, as long as it doesn't put OSU in a bad light. -

Haha, actually I was an Eagle and I got paid minimum wage. I've also done several corporate mascots as well as both of the Clipper's mascots. I made $50 a game working for the Clippers and the corporate mascots ranged from $15-$25 an hour.

Once he's no longer a student there (or at least no longer Brutus), he could definitely do it. He wouldn't need permission from the university at that point.
