No, I didn't know WTOV9 covered Morgantown. Doesn't make much sense. WTF would people in Morgantown care about a shooting on LaBelle or our city facebook page fiasco? Furthermore, I'm willing to bet that WVU-Coastal Carolina would've been available on local programming in Morgantown regardless of whether WTOV9 switched to that game.
Anyways, Morgantown obviously is WVU country. Right here in our immediate area? Not so much. As many if not more OSU, ND, UM fans in the valley as WVU fans. And again....it's NBC, show the national programming that's supposed to be on. -
OneBuckeyeHas purdue released a depth chart for ND yet?
-
killer_ewokJust googled real quick and the only NBC affiliate that I saw for Morgantown was WBOY-TV.

From sunday.
We've told you how we think Hope's control of info is frustrating at times, and hilarious at others. But, in yesterday's post-practice interview, he had one of the funniest "shoot-down" answers I've heard thus far...That said, it's gotta piss off the media.
Media guy:
"Now that you're in your game prep, do you have good idea who's in your two-deeps?"
Hope:
"Yep, yep...good idea."
And that was it. No further explanation, nothing but a look right at the guy (whom I don't know by voice).
Make no mistake, if Hope's not pleased with you and you're in the media, you'll get nothing, and like it.
The person to complain to about -
karen lotzhahaha that's pretty good.

What we have is the same asshole who runs their station and hates ND with a passion because he's an OSU homer. This is the guy who put on Penn St vs Cincy (pre-good Cincy) instead of ND-Michigan because he'd "get better ratings". Bullshit. WVU is just his excuse not to show ND games. Good to know in this economy his station can continue to afford to buy out their NBC obligations just so he can stick it to people.
Forgive my ignorance, but I have no idea what you're talking about.Tiernan;466981 wrote:Lots of Chatoleighs in the Valley Bid Red...Hell aren't you one of them? Steubenville Chatoleigh HS fan?
WBOY-TV may be the only affiliate, but WTOV9's signal reaches Morgantown.killer_ewok;467001 wrote:Just googled real quick and the only NBC affiliate that I saw for Morgantown was WBOY-TV. -
The EqualizerAccording to Wiki (I know, I know) channel 9's signal reaches as far west as Greensburg PA which is east of Pittsburgh. Logically they ought to be buying and showing Pitt a lot more since you'd have to imagine since their signal goes past pittsburgh there are a ton of Pitt fans in their viewing area. Maybe they'll follow suit like this week and show Pitt hosting New Hampshire in another "instant classic" matchup on 9/11.
Somehow I doubt it though.
Anyways, I'm going to ratchet up my 'cautious optimism' to a status of 'expected good things.' I think ND takes a game which it seemed like under Weis was a crapshoot and turns it back into a 14 point annual win. I'll say 35-21. -
Bigred1995The only reason I commented on the post is because, to me, it makes more sense to broadcast a game that falls within your viewing area than one over a state away. And yes, there are fans of other schools including Pitt, Ohio State, UM, etc. but my point was that there are probably more WVU fans than Notre Dame fans; hell in the Northern Panhandle of WV alone would probably out number all ND fans in the viewing area! Only if they had computers they'd be able to back me up on this! LOL

Check out a Gaelic Dictionary for Chatoleigh -

Or it could make more sense to show the nationally televised game that NBC affiliates should be showing. Buy ESPN Gameplan if you are a WVU fan (not you personally) and might miss the game. That's what that package is for. Notre Dame has a national TV contract. Funny, I don't recall WPXI out of Pittsburgh changing programming and airing a Pitt game instead of ND during their time slot. And as equalizer pointed out, WTOV9 has pulled this shit before with terrible non-WVU/Pitt Big East matchups instead of ND. Who in the valley REALLY wanted to watch Rutgers-South Florida? There are plenty more who would rather tune in to root for/against ND IMO.
I have friends in Morgantown....I'll have to ask them if they actually get WTOV9 on their cable there. -

I don't think so, if anything there's more ND fans in the Valley than WVU. -
