They were ready, but we are Orrville and we were REDierBRF wrote: The pep rally today featured the appearance of the entire Middle School in The House! What a sight that was to see the gym packed with all our students from grades 5-12! Coach Sly said some words and then had a shout off between the Middle School kids on one side of the gym and the HS kids on the other. When those Middle School kids screamed, it sent shivers up my spine....a real high pitched sound filled with excitement! Then the HS kids yelled back with a deeper more adult sounding whoop. It was really quite something to witness.
Our guys are psyched and ready and not taking anything lightly.
Can't wait!

BRFWell, I am in a good mood today thinking about everything in retrospect. One thing is that our seniors can say something that no one else can, they got us a banner for state runner-up.....the first in school history!
On a side note, I think that someone getting 12 rebounds in a state championship game deserves a big tip of the hat from BRF and that would go to Sam Miller...............the one who sat out the start of the season with a finger injury and then came back to ROAR LIKE A LION!
And again I say that I am very very proud of what this team did! Outstanding! -
Riderwannabeagree BRF, Hoobler was also a big plus.
-
BRF
Right, Riderwannabe, I was just focusing on one, there, but Hoobler was awesome in this tournament run, and I want to give a shout out to Corbett for his tenacious defense and hustle and to Ingram for his spirit and ball handling and for that little spark he gave us in the first half yesterday.Riderwannabe wrote: agree BRF, Hoobler was also a big plus.
And finally, I am really glad that Wasson played for us this year. -
RedRider1Glad that Sam & Chase decided to play this year after deciding not to last year.
Disproved the notion that football players can't be of value on the basketball court. -
rrfanRedrider1- that notion is one of the stupidest ever! Football players have played big rolls in Orrville basketball. The ones that can't understand that are not really smart enough to have a conversation.

3 of the all time top 5 scorers were great football players, Tom Bolyard, Marcell Denson, and Renauld Ray!rrfan wrote: Redrider1- that notion is one of the stupidest ever! RedRider1^^All 3 were tremendous athletes too, all-staters in football & basketball, no?
Can't ignore pure ability...kids like Miller & Hoobler have that. -

The athletes at the DIII and DIV level almost have to play more than one sport because of the size of the schools, that's why we can see outstanding football players playing basketball, baseball, and track. We have been blessed at Orrville with great year around programs and coaches that make players like Hoobler, Miller, Bescancon to mention a few, want to compete in sports year round and not like your DI schools where most compete in their one specialized sport. Orrville has been blessed with talented athletes and coaches that enable us to compete year in and year out with the mostly larger schools on our schedules. Thanks to the players in all sports and the coaches for all your efforts to once again make our community proud !RedRider1 wrote: ^^All 3 were tremendous athletes too, all-staters in football & basketball, no?

And thanks to the DR for not having the fan votes count for this or who knows who they would have put in! -
Series62Does anyone have info on Jake Bolyard's college prospects?

Riderfan
The paper said Walsh...I've seen the Heidleberg coaches at many games talking to Jake.Series62 wrote: Does anyone have info on Jake Bolyard's college prospects? -
