Orrville Basketball

RedRider1I saw Jacob Bolyard play his ass off against Minerva, that kid left it all on the floor......to even imply that the kids somehow did not put their best effort is a slap in the face to all Orrville athletes....but par for the course for you.
It's be like me saying that your son failing to win state in track was due to his lack of effort. Nobody in their right mind would say that.
Glad that most fans are more intelligent than this.
Face it...the program is in a better place than it was a year ago...simple attendance proves that. -
Series62
I said "some" players! I know that Bolyard gave his all! Too bad the entire team (especially three of the other starting five), didn't give their all in response Bolyard's efforts. The slap in the face was to Bolyard by his team-mates. Or did you miss that!?RedRider1 wrote: I saw Jacob Bolyard play his ass off against Minerva, that kid left it all on the floor......to even imply that the kids somehow did not put their best effort is a slap in the face to all Orrville athletes....but par for the course for you.

I think the fans saw exactly what I saw, as did you! If those turnovers and missed shots were a part of the coaches plan, than they all played some good ball! -
rrfan"Craig brothers" I am still laughing that bigp added that in. Come on man! Get over yourself.
Short is gone! We are better for it. BRF keep fighting the good fight.
Many would argue that Short had more talent than many years that Coach Smith took his teams to district championships. Bottom line is that in the "short era" teams got worse as the season went on, he got out coached often, and there was plenty that he did that got swept under the rug that would have gotten any other coach fired.
Good Luck Riders! -

So the kids tanked the game? A 5 point loss to the #2 seed was a tank job? That's what you're saying. That's quite a strong accusation.Series62 wrote: I said "some" players! I guess according to you, coaches are irrelevant and have no impact on games. So why have them? -
riders1
Who were Short's other 3 starting five? Seniors were Mitchell, Locket, Gant, and Graber, were they starters? Seems like I remember alot of turnovers and missed shots in there somewhere.Series62 wrote:

RedRider1Wasson, Mitchell were starters....I think Gant was a starter, too. Lockett wasn't on the team at tourney time.
Maybe Joey B was a starter.
Sound money is on Jake, Joey, Mitchell, Gant and Wasson.
Gee...I wonder who is being implied as not giving their best effort. I bet both are still on the team....and still starters.
IMO, our style of play led to many, many out of control shots...so say what you want about the kids having bad games...that style of offense and the output (wild, low percentage shots) had a hand in that too....and who is it that sets the game plan. The coach?
Wait...he obviously set the correct game plan, but the kids don't listen, because they have an ax to grind, or they dont love basketball, right?
It's all on the kids...or the officials.
Here's a quote from after the game....guess who.
"They shot more free throws than we did in the fourth quarter, Both teams were aggressive the entire game, but I thought the officials took the aggressiveness out of us." -
Old RiderIt seems ironic that we near tournement time and Big P shows up with intention to stir the pot, create some arguments and ...well, maybe (I would hope not), distract our kids right before the tourney??
Do you have a grudge with Sly? We all know the kids read this stuff, so lets stay positive as we know this team has the potential to have some success in the coming weeks.
ATTENTION: please just disregard series62 and lets keep the focus of this topic on Orrville Basketball....not Coach Short, who played park ball, real estate, jobs, work environment, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.......although I do enjoy laughing at each and every one of your idiotic posts Big P -
BRFHi Guys! Thanks for all the support!

Agreed.BRF wrote: Hi Guys! Thanks for all the support!

I'm with old_rider.....let's move on....and discuss this years team. -
Wooster RoosterSo where is BRF? Has he been banned from posting by a.) school b.) attorney because of the scandal? Taken sabbatical? What are his expert thoughts on Orrville tourney prospects. Hope all works out for Riders w/ this. I'm sure team will block it out and best to them - after Friday's game with Woo lol
-
Old RiderWooster will be ready to go and trying to end Orrville's current win streak vs them. Not sure how many games the streak is at this point..RR1?? Help?
Looking forward to seeing how we get after it in the tourney. Hopefully we do NOT play to the level of our competition as we have at times this season. Lets play like we did against Senior or East and just get after it from tip off. If we us our athletic ability and play with intensity, we will be tough to beat! -
BRFWoosterRooster: a name I like, but not so much your last cocky post. If you had scrolled back just a couple of posts, you would have found me. But, you were so wrapped up in firing off your "witty" post, that ya missed it.
ANYHOW.......and I hope I don"t get pounded on for saying this, but we are going to be a little bit lighter for this game. -
rrfanOrrville vs. Wooster is always important to the Riders. Seniors have one last night to remember. Have fun and good luck
Beat Wooster! -
THE4RINGZThe Generals destroyed a much better Triway team earlier this year. Beware Riders. They are giant killers.
Sorry just trying to fuel BRF's paranoia. -
RedRider1oldrider,
a win tomorrow would be our 9th straight....last loss was 1/6/06.
Been 1900+ days since Wooster last beat Orrville in football & boys basketball -
FlashLast time we played them Wooster was horrible shooting from the outside. They can't be as bad this time, so I expect a closer game. Teams are starting to figure out the best strategy to beat us.
-
RedRider1^^Agreed.
From BRF's post...am i to understand that we'll be missing guys tonight? Anyone know a status on Groves.
Let's have a good day...school is out (the WEAKEST snow day EVAH!!)....I'm thinking it's more of a mental health day. -
rrfanNorth of Orrville is terrible driving conditions. If it keeps moving south it was a very smart decision to cancel.
Let's have a great game tonight Riders. You have to be hungry for this game! Wooster will be. Close the door on them early. -
RedRider1No radio tonight...and I'm not able to attend.....hope someone can give updates.
-
rider80Good Luck Riders beat Wooster.
-
rrfanShocked that this game is not on the radio.
Is that the real rider 80 or the fake one?
Good luck Riders! -
FlashSaw Groves Wednesday with a footcast. Hoping to make it and will post score when I get home.
-
riderbbI assume WQKT will be broadcasting the SCOTS semi-final game tonight.
-
THE4RINGZSo why not broadcast the Orrville v. Wooster game on WKVX?
