I'm only teasing with the disturbing comment. He's an amazing athlete but with really ugly (running) form.
Ya made the comment about him being the best performer and I was visualizing his final kick...:D
  • givetallugot
Yeah he had a sweet kick, that's for sure. I wish I had eyes in the back of my head and saw him coming last year.

    Eh....yer not a miler. :D

Dumb question...is the track at the new high school? Think I'm gonna head down to conference.

    Graham-
    2:09- Overton
    2:08- Hawke
    2:06- Mcmak
    2:03- Pumphrey

Would be cool if it came down to a kick between MU and Graham for the final regional qualifying spot. :D
  • givetallugot
No, its at the middle school, not the new high school. L.T. Ball to be exact.

Tipp went 2:02, 2:05, 2:05, 2:04 for a 8:17. Led wire to wire. Get off exit 68 from I 75. You take a left at the Dairy Queen intersection (Hyatt Street) after you turn onto 571 off the exit. Go left at the 2nd stoplight and you will see a big parking lot.

I'll be heading into town the scenic route from the East. 55 to 202, then Dry Mill to Cty rd 25A. Then 153 turns into Hyatt?

    Sound right?
  • givetallugot
Yeah, 153 turns into Hyatt. There will be school signs. You will see two middle schools, a baseball and softball field, and the track is straight back uipon entering the parking lot.

CBC conf was fun. Great weather! Distance events on the boys side DOMINATED by one school.
Yo give- Will everyone run the same events come districts? Tipp appears to have four runners (at least) who are legit sub 10 minute 3200m runners.

Our friend Brian D. made a comment how it's great when athletes and coaches from different conferences come to watch as spectators. Cool to see orange and jr along with a couple other teammates hanging out at CBC.

    See ya next week 609.
  • givetallugot
Said- yes, everyone will be running their conference events at districts. Luke Zerkle was the suprise of the day with a 10 second PR for 4:29 in the 1600. He trained this winter instead of playing basketball.
  • givetallugot
Here is the big question for Districts. Does Prakel double? Should he double? If he doesn't double, does he just do the 3200?

What will it take to get out in the distance events? Here are my guesses.

    4x8- 8:25

Battle for 1st between Tipp and Versailles. Brookville likely to get 3rd. Milton and Graham for the 4th spot.

    1600 4:35

I don't think Prakel will run it. Feitshans should win and right now Luke Zerkle is favorite to get 2nd. Maybe Robert Pumphrey will rebound from CBC. After those guys Sam Bench looks to qualify.

    800- 2:02

Ethan Leonard from Brookville has top time at 1:59. It will be a close race. Cody Conley from Tipp went 2:01 at CBC unpushed. Anybody could grap 3 and 4 spots.

    3200- 9:55

Should be the best race of the day. Three guys could win it. Samuel Prakel, Kevin Fink, and Sam Wharton. Brandon Townsend finish a strong 4th in a competitive field.

It will depend on the weather of course but the 3200m to make regionals could take low to mid 9:40s.
  • givetallugot
Said- who do you think will win the 3200?

The District record should be broken this year if the weather is good.
  • givetallugot
According to the Heat Sheets, Prakel is doing both the 1600 and 3200. I don't see him beating Feitshans, but he could beat Zerkle. I also see both Fink and Wharton beating Prakel in the 3200 because they will be fresh.

I did not look at the sheets. How many are doubling in the 16 and 32?
I think the winning time could go under 9:40 if no rain and good conditions.
What do you think will be the winning time?
  • givetallugot
I think Fink can go 9:37 at Districts in good conditions for the District record.

609 - the info sheet for the D3 district meet at your place tomorrow has prelims and semi finals for the 100 Hurdles, 100 and 200. Last year, I vaguely remember there only being prelims for those events and the running events starting with the 4x800. Do you know if there are going to be prelims and semi finals for the short sprints?
  • orangechik00
Thanks. That's not what the info sheet has and I just want to give my parents the heads-up. See you tomorrow.
  • givetallugot
I'm confused about Prakel too. It doesn't make sense for him not to run Conference, but to double at Districts. It's all speculation at this point. He may be injured. He could have missed the bus. He could have had a family emergency. I would hope it is not the first or third one.
  • givetallugot
yeah something along those lines. i doubt he is injured since he's doubling.
  • givetallugot
What is the order of events and time schedule for tomorrow?
  • said_aouita
Yo 609 who is doing the finish line?
  • dlazz
I am personally hand timing them.
  • GORUN
nobody is going to touch prakel in the 16... he might be human in the 3200 after having run the 1600 but i doubt it... saw him in the 4x8 and he made it look way too easy... everybody is running for second! if anybody can take him down in the 3200 i'll say fink and wharton got a shot but we'll see they better get it going really really fast early if they are planning on slaying that dragon!

The running gods are once again in favor of the distance runners. All this rain adding oxygen to the air. Nice cool temperatures. Tomorrow about the beginning of the district meet rains stops. Perfect!

All we need now is a cooler full of....oh wait I'm thinking another kind of race track.
