Inter Valley Conference 09 !!

  • Pariah
Ricola, I left my glasses at home and I saw the game, but much of it was a blur. Maybe that was why I thought the zebras did a good job. There was at least one charge/block call that I found objectionable. Even a blind man could have seen that one... and I did.
  • ricola
that was what I was referring to...the glasses being at home that is. but now that you mentioned it, I had a couple issues with a few block/charge calls myself.
  • tigerfan82
ric.......are you hiland folks ever happy???????? you won by how many??????
  • Hesston
Are there other IVC schools interested in moving to the ECOL?
  • tigerfan82
Did I miss something?????? What IVC schools are moving?
  • Hesston
rumor has it Ridgewood is listening
  • tigerfan82
I hope not...........like I said before. The IVC had better wake up and go big school/ small school or this league will be done in 10 years or sooner!

sorry, it was an inside joke with pariah....(though there were a few questionable blocking calls. obviously it made no dIfference in the game; only mentioned because of the context)

as for the IVC..wouldn't be the worst thing to happen..

Pariah, I was at the game too but I had my contacts in. Looked like the zebras were doing just fine. It was probably a good thing that you didn't have your glasses or you may have thrown them on the court and tried to retrieve them before the official turned around!!! That may have gotten you tossed.
  • Pariah
    It has happened. :)

One objectionable charge/block counts for a pretty well officiated game, I'd say.

Doing a little scouting, huh? I could have saved you some time. Scouting report: guard Kaufman and Boyd.

Wish I'd seen you... but then again, I wasn't seeing anything in good detail. Probably wouldn't have recognized my mother. But if I could have seen you, I might have bought you a popcorn.

dang, Pariah...giving away our secrets?! maybe they woulda left those guys open!
  • jlghoops
Even when you guard them, they get open sometimes :)

NCT almost upsets Garaway, that is a surprise. TCC makes statement that they belong with win at Strasburg. Malvern and Ridgewood still figuring out how to turn Guards into Guards :)
  • Pariah
I listened to that Garaway/NCT game. Coach Weekley had a brain fart at the end. Trojans down 3 with about 30 seconds left - NCT only had 2 team fouls - they did not press and they dropped back into a 2-3 zone - lots of time went off before they got the 3rd foul and by the time they got Garaway on the line, there was only 7.5 seconds left. ??? The game could have been extended significantly more than it was.
  • Hesston
    nice win TCC
  • ricola
TCC played hiland as tough as anyone last year, and if i recall they have essentially everyone back. They could be a signicant conference player this year. this week with garaway will tell us more.
  • TMajic
Sorry Pariah, I do appreciate it but Hiland was gracious enough to put me and little jmajic up in the loge!!!
  • jlghoops
Lots of scouts in the house last night at Sandy Valley. I saw Ridgewood and TCC for sure. Four other guys with clipboards I didn't recognize. If they learned something good, I hope they will let us know :)
  • Pariah
They said on the radio that Coach Schlabach was there. I learned from listening that Malvern looked like it was their first game, that SV plays better at home than away, and that you have to stop Mozden because they rely heavily on him for scoring. I think we already knew that Travis and Wackerly were key to the Hornets.

This conference looks to be brutal. Very few gimmes on the schedule. Have to come to play every night.
  • jlghoops
I would have recognized Coach Schlabach, so there were still four guys I didnt know with clipboards!

Sophomore point guard, Williams, for Sandy is pretty good. He is small, but handles ball well and is very calm on court.
  • Pariah
Oh yeah, they were raving about him on the broadcast. Second coming of Jake Cayton?

IVC will not be great this year. Hiland wins by default. Garaway slim chance (wont reverse the ball, and take to many bad shots) , TCC solid 3rd ,Sandy Valley , Strasburg ( take away that pool table they play on and they would be 6th) Ridgewood ( size and toughness will surprise some, should be better in 2nd half of year. could drop below malvern) Malvern (overrated, coach is about out of kids named tucci, guard play is suspect) Newcomerstown, Connotton Valley . In that order!

I heard from a coach that they thought they had that big school / small school thing worked out a couple years back. Had a few schools interested like Tusky Valley, Fairless, Meadowbrook, Indian Valley and Barnesvlle. It fell apart because Newcomerstown and Garaway insisted on being in the small school division. The only thing any team could agree on was nobody wanted Coshocton in the league.

    Is Malvern really that weak?

I listened to the Sandy-Malvern game on the internet the other night and it sounded like a great ending. I would like to think Malvern would be predicted to finish a little higher than the poster above believes.
By the way, it took a while to find the web site with this IVC thread. I always enjoyed this thread on the other site and it seems all the original cast members are here. I hope this site is paying you guys for your comedy acts!!!!!!!!!!

I will bet a large sum of money that Malvern doesn't finish in bottom half of league. First game may have been rough, but they still won. They have a freshman not name Tucci, that is going to be very good. Hiland will not run table in my opinion, but I agree they are favorite to win league.
