Man it's bright in there now!! LOL Wasn't sure if i was watching 2 teams that will be lucky to win 11-12 games, Or 2 teams that will have great seasons........One thing is for sure IT"S EARLY!!
KardiacKids,
Northwestern shot: FG 50% (25-50, including 3's), 3FG 36.4% (8-22), FT 71.4% (10-14)
Triway shot: FG 52.1% (25-48), 3FG 30% (3-10), FT 79.3% (23-29)
Both teams made the same amount of buckets with Triway only shooting 2 less shots, and worse % from beyond the arc.
Points in the Paint: Triway 20 Northwestern 10
3pt Points: Triway 9 Northwestern 24
McKean was 12-27 (1-7 beyond the arc; 31 points on 27 shots), so I think Sawyer did pretty well contesting and forcing him into tough shots, especially late in the game when we knew he was going to force them. -
KardiacKidsWow...thanks for the stats!! Never did i mean to insinuate that Triway needed to double team....Sawyer did a great job....that was my point....From talking to people there most teams beat NW by doubling Mckean.....Man..it really seemed to me that NW missed a lot more shots than Triway....Oh well thats one bet i would have lost...saved some money on that one!!! I do believe if they would have done what Mr. Russell says...the score would have been worse............

Dalton was missing starting post Jake Zeek with an ankle injury, but just let this one slip away - the biggest stat was 5-15 from the line. Even go 50% and you win this game. Also missed too many lay ups in the first half, looked a little like they were still on the football field at times. Will not be able to do those things and win next week against hillsdale. I still fully expect a strong season for the dawgs, but it may take another week or two to get in the groove.
not only 5-15 from the line i can't count that high how many turnovers they had -
1486wdhuge early season wcal matchup friday with dalton visiting hillsdale. Thought the bulldogs were still trying to find their hoops legs last friday. Have not heard if Zeek will be back for this game but dalton will definitely need him as he is their only guy with any size against a very big falcon team - he didn't look like he was walking too bad last week). Thoughts on this game?

Bloody Toothbrush1486...
thoughts on Dalton at Hillsdale...I kind of hate to see a matchup of contenders so early, I was always a fan of playing the first 4 or 5 games out of conference for just that reason.
Hillsdale, fresh from the football field, just rolled Loudonville with their size. Now, playing at home against a Dalton club, who also went OT in football season and still hasn't totally healed from it....
I think the Bulldogs have an uphill battle on their hands. I also think round 2 on Jan 21 will be a far better measuring stick of both teams true abilities. (especially Dalton)
Sipe...
You may be on to something with the NW/TRI winning 11-12 games comment.
Still can't believe the Titans got beat in the "sweatbox" by West Holmes....
And the Huskies....lack of presence in the paint combined with over-reliance on the 3pt shot and teams that do double up on McKean...not a pretty picture.
I hate it when you're right, but...
What if....Triway would have double teamed McKean....they probably win by 20
And Orrville....don't even want to think about it yet...heck, don't even want to think about Hillsdale & Dalton. Alberts has his hands full this year. I still have faith though. -
KardiacKidsCan you say that again....I think i like the sound of that....you remember don't you? The I'm right comment!!! LMAO
-
1486wdBT - I'm with you on the timing, especially with both teams down 2-3 weeks of practice. I don't think this matchup will necessarily be an indicator of either team's success this season, but should be fun anyway.
-
beverboy1i talk to jake after the tuslaw gm he said he will be back for the hillsdale gm
-
1486wdthat's good - they will need him against hilldale, i think he is the only guy over 6 ft on the roster
-
madman11Big game tonight in Rittman... Should be a packed house and we get our first look at the Indians. Should be a good game. Any thoughts?
-
FlashNot something pertinent to this forum so much, but since it was discussed here: Mocilnacar was reinstated yesterday by the OHSAA.
-
Mr. RussellWho does Rittman have tonight madman? I think there will be many good ones tonight, Smithville and Waynedale will be close, especially at Waynedale.
-
madman11Rittman was hosting Norwayne
-
1486wddalton over hillsdale by 3 in OT. Great hard fought, back and forth game. Both teams fairly sloppy with a lot of turnovers. Both shot around 40%, dalton outrebounded the falcons by 2. Unlike last week, Dalton hits their free throws to get the win. Great early season win for Dalton. Been very surprised by the steady play of soph Chase Moyer so far this year. great game by Lint as well. Round 2 should be just as good.
-
beverboy1yes much better at the line specially at the end of the gm when we need it !! we still need to take care of the ball better. still alot better at tuslaw gm that was plain ugly!! hillsdale gave us alot trouble on the press we struggle a little getting ball across, but the kids kept fighting a very big win !! great job !!!
-
1486wdhillsdale's length cn create some problems on the press. Neither team will be very happy with how they took care of the ball, but its early.
-
beverboy1back to the hard wood again tonight against another falcon tm fairless !!
-
madman11Rittman took care of business beating Norwayne by 10.... And let me tell you that student section was LOUD
-
1486wdsaw fairless gave triway a pretty good game last night. We showed much better intensity last night than against tuslaw, need to keep that up.
-
1486wddalton 63 fairless 46
some triway fan is going to have to tell me how fairless put up 71 on them?? -
THE4RINGZI think that typical Triway chemistry just isn't there yet this year. They beat a good Northwestern team, lost to a very good but underrated West Holmes squad, and held on to beat Fairless.
Not a great showing out of the gate, but will build on this and be ready come tournament time.
Enough about Triway on this WCAL thread. Nice start by the Dawgs. Big statement win Friday. Hope you can keep rolling. -
KardiacKidsNorthwestern controlled Medina Highland Tonight with no Problem Looks like NW is starting to gel very nicely............I was at the Rittman Norwayne game also......Looks like Rittman could be a force to Reckon with this year also.........The WCAL is Officially Unpredictable and up for grabs this year.....But I"M still hanging on to my original post, and Picking Dalton to be on top when the smoke clears.......................................
-
KardiacKidsOH yeah....What the hell is up with that Avatar RingZ?!.....Are those your old girlfriends from NW?...LOL
-
THE4RINGZ1 Northwestern gal, 2 Smithville girls, and a Bobcat.
-
KardiacKidsLMAO......Don't hate on Smithville like that!!! LOL
