It is beyon me that the OP is obviouslt a battered spouse, but he thinks he can take on a vicious, rabid, calculated killer pitbull..Automatik;1204390 wrote:Um can you not read? The decision has been MADE. If the dog attacks, he will die. How and with what? TBD. -

Statistically, If I were worried about granny, gramps, or little joey, I would rather have a rattlesnake or a pitbull than a swimming pool or bicycle.isadore;1204392 wrote:and no rattlesnakes either, I guess we should put one in every home. -

Good lord, they're not alligators. A grown man, even with a bigger dog latched onto his arm could kill it. Yes, they have strong jaws (but the jaws don't lock, like people think), but something latched onto my arm that weighs 45 pounds is getting beat to hell.Raw Dawgin' it;1204396 wrote:Good luck with that...their jaws are much stronger than you. -

Honestly - i don't think you or I could take down an attacking pitbull or german shepard. Just my opinion, but i'd watch if you wanted to try.O-Trap;1204403 wrote:Good lord, they're not alligators. dogs are basically wolves and wolves operate on that principle of finding the weakest prey to kill.O-Trap;1204394 wrote:Random statements without fact substantiation? Okay.

I did this with a doberman. Isadore posted an article where a guy did it with a pit.Raw Dawgin' it;1204410 wrote:Honestly - i don't think you or I could take down an attacking pitbull or german shepard. Just my opinion, but i'd watch if you wanted to try.
Honestly, what is it that makes people so scared of angry dogs? They're smaller. They're not as smart (sans isadore, who apparently thinks they're evil geniuses by comparison). They don't have the balance to stand on two legs. They can't grab. They have teeth, sure. So do you and I. Seems like that's their ONLY advantage if you turn and face them instead of running away. -

1. You just showed a complete lack of speciation. They aren't "basically wolves." They have genetic similarities, due to the close species relationship, but they're not "basically wolves," you dunce.isadore;1204412 wrote:dogs are basically wolves and wolves operate on that principle of finding the weakest prey to kill.
2. You also just suggested that ALL dogs are genius killers that will hunt the weak.
3. ANYONE intending to kill goes after the weak. -

AutomatikSo my parent's 15lb Jack Russell is a wolf now??!?!?! WTF?
-
lhslep134Jesus f*cking christ this is the stupidest argument ever. Isadore is a clown, pit bulls MIGHT be more predispositioned toward violence but even assuming the truth of that statement, it has NO BEARING on any individual pit bull or situation.

gorocks99Merged with the poor stupid people thread. That way we can keep track of everyone's pitbull arguments together, hooray!

So, per your anecdote, and per your own assertion that you know the difference between a pit bull breed versus some boxer mixes, American bulldog mixes, etc.ccrunner609;1204463 wrote:No the ability over the past 20 years to know that I have NEVER seen a pitbull in a yard or with a person from a nice community or anywhere close.....but as soon as you drive in the hood you see them.
I have ran 20,000+ miles iin my life all over the place. I havent seen one in any of the country club neighborhoods around where I live but see them in town all the time.
