How long before people start bashing you before you go into "exile" again, LOL.
I was actually going to start a thread about when sq would make his return. I thought he would wait until the Heat were at least in the Finals but he just couldn't help himself watching the Heat beat a bang up Celtics team. But to answer your question it won't be long before we all get the Big Black Middle Finger avatar from sq_crycrazy. -

Alright, here is how it is--whether you agree or not.
The Lakers were the better team, but they had issues that we still don't understand. Internal issues, I mean it couldn't have been more obvious--you could see it on Phil's face, he knew they were done. Kobe can't do it himself anymore, to the point where no one can even argue that he can anymore. Gasol didn't give a shit the whole playoffs. Look up how many games they've played over the last few years, that takes a toll. And match ups were a huge issue. The Lakers can't handle ANY speed from a PG--Barea is fast as shit. When Kidd can guard Kobe with decent results then that helps Dallas matchup too. The Lakers have no one that can even begin to check Dirk.
It wasn't as impressive a sweep as it looks to most, IMO. Though I was very impressed and I give them credit for playing very well. If they play the Thunder next round, you won't be seeing the Mavs as the favorites anymore. The Thunder matchup with them MUCH better. And if they play the Heat, the Mavs are dicked. You can let your hatred for LeBron blind you, but the fact is, the Heat present matchup issues that are a nightmare for Dallas--more so than the other way around. The Heat bench isn't as bad as some think, people who still think they're "the worst in the league" are delusional. And the Big 3 took it upon themselves last game at the half and literally said the team will go as far as they take them--quit trying so hard to get everyone else going. And that's what they have to do, the problem with your line of thinking is they all CAN go for 20 when they want to. And they DON'T need to.
But this is all stupid discussion. I'm worried about game 5, I don't doubt the Celtics anymore. I learned my lesson. And I won't look past either a deeply talented Hawks team or the fake MVP led Bulls either--reason being is the way they can defend the paint. But the Heat can play any kind of game, and they are THE BEST defensive team in the league. Reason being, Joel Anthony is a stud (as jpake told everyone he would be), DWade is awesome when he wants to be, and LeBron is the best defender in the league. I have no problem is D-Howard taking that honor every year, but I give the edge to LeBron because of the way he can lock down anyone from the 1 to the 4 and in some cases the 5 spot. And Bosh can hold his own. Defense wins championships and the Heat have the best defense in the league AND two of the best individual players in the league. So we'll see, but don't tell me the Heat need help from the officials--that's just you not manning up and giving them the credit they deserve. -

You guys can either engage in a real discussion about sports or you can try to play connect to dots like some 4 year olds. And you look especially stupid when the dots aren't there. Your choice, I'd be glad to discuss things with you the way they should be, if not I can block you and do us both a favor. What's it going to be? -

Well, you made a GREAT counter point to all of the points I made... -

There is no discussion with you. You're an idiot, and trying to argue with an idiot is a waste of time. Also your "points" speak for themselves. Joel Anthony a stud? LMAO what counter point is even needed? -
BR1986FBThe Boss;765087 wrote:Well, you made a GREAT counter point to all of the points I made...
To imply that Rose wasn't this years' MVP (fake MVP) just shows a) you know SHIT in your analysis of hoops and b) you're riding LeBitch's jock so hard your ass cheeks are probably chapped. -
Skyhook79"But this is all stupid discussion."
You should have stopped there.
Oh and better go ahead and block me and probally 50 other people because we know thats how you roll. You dish out stupid lebron/NBA stuff and then when it blows up in your face you run... -

No shit. Maybe if he blocks everyone he can start his own "64-0" thread. -

Great point, similar to another OC resident troll. -
The BossSomeone make a counter point then, all you guys are doing is just telling me I don't know what I'm talking about--but I don't see any of you putting any of your opinions on the line, just telling me I'm an idiot.

Dwight Howard received 585 points in the Defensive Player of the year award. The 2nd place guy, Garnett received 77 points... 508 POINTS LESS
The guy YOU said was the best defender in the league received 25 points and finished 9th.
Is that a good enough counter point or do you know more than those voting on it? -
The BossNo, I don't claim to know more than those voting on it. But Howard gets it for a few reasons:
1. He's a ALL TIME great defender.
2. He's so good that he needs to win something.
3. He has the defensive highlights and judging who is the best defender is way harder than talking about offense.
4. Two of the biggest defensive stats are rebounds and blocks, he's the best at both--he's a LeBron-like athlete that is 7 foot tall, he should be.
I said I don't have a problem with him winning the award. I think that LeBron is the best defender in the league because he can take on 4 positions VERY effectively and can even hold his own against centers. Howard doesn't. Howard isn't always guarding the best player on the other team--LeBron is 9 out of 10 games. And when you consider what he's expected to do on the offensive end, the fact that he has that weight on him on the defensive end and produces the way he does just makes him even better. He's been on the All Defense team a few times now, a list that has always held a lot of merit with you skyhook. So it's not like it's out of line, he's considered the best defender at his position. Thing is he guards 4 positions and does any of them about as well as anyone. Just because I said that doesn't mean I'm trying to take something away from Dwight Howard--he is without a doubt an exceptional defender. -
The BossWe can agree to disagree, they're both GREAT defenders--that's really the bottom line but thank you skyhook for at least forming a real argument. Wasn't that hard was it?
Next topic... -

I admit it, I smiled at this. -

I know. I laughed too. It's as if he's supposed to be given some kind of consolation prize whether he deserves it or not. -
The BossAlso, let me say, I understand that there is A LOT of LeBron hatred around here. So I don't expect many people to agree, but my point is solid and backed by a solid argument. It's not like I'm saying LeBron is the best swimmer in the world because I think he is. We KNOW how good he is at basketball--in fact, if he wasn't so good, you "LeBron Haters" wouldn't exist and you wouldn't still be salty about him leaving Cleveland.
You guys think some of the things I say are ridiculous, I think I remember a post where BR said something about being glad LeBron was out of Cleveland because maybe he wouldn't be holding them back anymore, or something along those lines. LOL, and you guys attack me for saying things that you think are stupid. That's your heart speaking because you don't like the guy, not your brain. -

No one thinks so but you. -

He is. I won't argue that he doesn't deserve to win the award, he DEFINITELY has to be in the discussion but it sure as shit isn't as big of a separation as the voting shows. That's just as much BS as LeBron not even being top 5 on NINE MVP ballots. -
The BossCommander of Awesome;765170 wrote:No one thinks so but you.
What part of the argument that I made isn't solid? Again, you're just spewing BS and not actually making a point. -
karen lotzShaq not expected to play tonight in game 5. Sad way for him to go out, if this is indeed the end of his career. He looked horrible in the few minutes he did limp up and down the court.
-
The BossOh and Justin, you're welcome. I know I'm GREAT for ratings.
-
Skyhook79"Joel Anthony is a stud"
There needs to be no counter point to that. Nothing needs to be said.
"the Heat have the best defense in the league"
Not if you look at the stats for points against and opposing team FG%, its Chicago.
"but don't tell me the Heat need help from the officials"
Lebron and wade have shot 163 FT's between them in the Playoffs...almost as many as the entire Celtic team in the Playoffs. -

Let's say, for arguments sake, I DID say something to that effect. If I did, I'll STILL stand behind my comments knowing what we know about this clown NOW. He handcuffed the franchise with his expected diva treatment for him and his "entourage" and he made NO attempt to bring anyone (recruit) of value here. The moment he hits Miami he's suddenly on the recruiting trail? Guy is a POS.
At least NOW, with him gone, Gilbert & Grant can do things the "Cavalier way", not the "Lebron way." It won't come quickly but at least they will be able to BUILD, not panick and try to turn over the roster 3x's in FIVE years to get LBJ his ring. The clown held this team hostage. Good riddance to bad garbage.
And don't take this in a way that I don't think he's an uber talented athlete, because he is but he's a POS person.
