Week 15: New York Jets (9-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3)

having Polamalu out obviously takes away from the Steelers ability to force turnovers

however, Woodley has picked up his play the past few weeks and when Woodley and Harrison are playing well it becomes more difficult on the opposing tackles particularly playing at Pittsburgh

they started to come on in the Baltimore game but as I've said, the Baltimore tackles were allowed to false start several times which helped stop the edge rush

Keisel has also returned from his injury and been very active -- stopping the run, batting down passes and actually moving around on the defensive line I noticed.

The Jets might try to test the Steelers run defense more than other teams have done recently. With Sanchez struggling that would help their offense, obviously.

It's been awhile since a team has really remained committed to the run against the Steelers. They have been great statistically against the run and they're much weaker against the pass so it's like teams go in with a gameplan to pass and they don't even try to run enough. That might be a mistake. With Smith and now Polamalu out, they could be somewhat vulnerable in that area, at least more than usual.

"The Baltimore tackles were allowed to false start several times..." Do you actually believe this? Do you honestly think the NFL officials have it out for the Steeler defense and were giving the Raven offensive line a pass on false starts? Is that what you are insinuating?

I believe Pittsburgh finds a way to win an ugly low scoring game today. While I am glad it is a 4:15 game so I can watch it, I don't believe there will be much to see.

Watching these two offenses reminds me of the old saying about watching two retards trying to fuck a door knob.

    10-3 Stillers.

I saw them move early a bunch of times. I'm not sure why they were allowed to do that because I haven't noticed it in other games. Oher has even had problems with it. I saw an article a few days ago about how he's had a lot of penalties this year. My point right now is only that I think the Steelers two edge rushers have been playing great the past two games and causing problems but it wasn't as easy to see in that game because of that little extra advantage Baltimore was getting.

I think that might be the pivotal factor in this game today. If the Jets tackles do a good job against Harrison and Woodley, and contain them, I think the Jets will win. But if those two are able to get to Sanchez and force turnovers, particularly a forced fumble or two that sets up the Steelers in good field position, then I think the Steelers win.

If the Steelers can get consistent pressure on Sanchez.....AND the D backfield keeps everyone in front of them....Steelers will find a way to win.

You have to be one big dumbass to let Holmes get past you in this matchup.

Did you even watch the game? They were moving early on just about every play!

It's a conspiracy!!! If they were moving on just about every play, it would have been called. I wonder if the refs will look the other way when the Jets' line begins to move before the snap. You Steeler fans are the best.

There is a conspiracy but that's not part of it. That was just poor officiating, not watching the line of scrimmage close enough.

The bigger issue is that the NFL has ordered the officials that the late hits and helmet hit guidelines don't count against Roethlisberger. Teams are allowed to hit him any way and there's no penalty.

Its safe to say you didn't even watch. Do I think its a conspiracy? No, just BS officiating. It was quite obvious if you would have just watched the fucking game.

They're probably shutting Troy down for the rest of the regular season. Getting a 1st round bye is HUGE now.

    That's why.

    Game of interest....

Saints lead the Ravens 7-0 early.

    justincredible;605990 wrote:Why?

People have difficulty looking objectively at situations regarding calls/officials. You state the obvious and you get "omg typical Pittsburgh fan whining about calls!!"

When in reality I don't give a shit who the teams are. If the calls are bullshit then the calls are bullshit. I just want consistency throughout the league when it comes to officiating and thats not happening this season.

Ben has gotten hit late about 10 times in the past three weeks and not one penalty.

If another QB took a couple of those same shots they'd be out for the season.

Obviously there is no link to it because the NFL will deny it but it's clear they're allowing it to be open season on him.

Ravens are driving and about to take the lead.

To be fair, similar things are happening to Vick as well. Maybe the NFL is allowing both to be hit late/illegally as some sort of additional punishment for their off the field problems.
