Recommend some golf clubs...

    i've never liked the feel of a taylormade (or Cobra) driver. I've always had Callaway, but PING and Mizuno Drivers always felt just as good, the Callaways are usually cheaper.

    I was never accurate with a TM driver, probably my stupid fault. I've hit Calloways pretty well and liked the way Mizunos hit too.

    I almost bought an Ogio bag but ended up getting Taylor Made. I do however think that bag is sharp.

    The only courses I pretty much play are the park courses and the CRC(Cincinnati Recreation Commission) courses. The CRC courses are fairly cheap to play and are a reasonable length, but very good for someone who plays once or twice a week and isn't a pro. http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/crc/pages/-5703-/ There's the website so you can check the courses out. California is over by Riverbend and it's a pretty nice course for the money. Glenview is the nicest but it's up north of the city. I live over on the west side right be Neumann and it's an alright course.

    For the park courses I really like Sharon Woods. Here's the website: http://www.greatparks.org/rec_golf/golf.htm Sharon Woods is great, The Mill is pretty nice. Vineyard is a good course as well. Little Miami is a short course but is usually not too busy when I get out there. The park courses are a little more expensive but overall are nicer than the CRC courses.

    I just played my first round of the year today. Ended up shooting 4 over with a double-bogey on the first hole. I played at an easy course but I was hitting the ball well and my putting wasn't too horrible considering the greens were really inconsistent still.

    I'm happy with it.

    I'm trying to walk more so I'm going for lighter bags. I have a cart bag now and it weighs like 15 pounds and it's big and bulky and a bitch to carry. I'm looking more at bags like these:

    I have the Ogio Grom carry/cart hybrid bag. It's got two straps so if I want to carry I can and it also stands straight up so when I want to put it on a cart I can do that too. It's got a "torque strap" that attaches to the back of the golf cart so the bag doesn't move around when riding in a cart. Plenty of compartments for me, and it's not too heavy (I think it's about 5 lbs).

    ^^it's a great bag, the club seperator system on the Grom is nice, although it's definitely designed for the carry aspect of the bag. My bag is the 2009 model, and I picked it up for $88 plus shipping online. The one I posted is the same color as the one that I bought. It was between the navy blue version and an orange/white/black pinstripe version.

    My Cleveland Browns blood wouldn't let me go through with a Cincy Bengals colored golf bag lol.

    Nope...I actually purchased it from GiltGroupe.com. It's one of those one day flash sale websites. They typically sell high end fashion or European brands, but occasionally they'll throw in regular stuff. I get their emails for their sales and one day last December they had Ogio bags on sale for $88. Ogio made some slight changes to the 2010 Grom so I got the '09 version. The only noticable differences were the colors, and some variations on pockets.


    Shipping was rather expensive (I think I paid around $110 OTD?) for the length of time it takes to get the bag. I bought it in December, it didn't arrive until the end of January. I've also purchased shoes from that website. You can find other golf items sometimes too...like Adidas brand clothes, Puma gear, Nike golf gear, but IMO it's not worth joining unless you plan on buying a lot of stuff or large items (shipping rapes you).

    You'll like California. It's not a very intimidating course but for the money I think it's a good course to play, especially this time of year. I'll be playing at Woodland tonight, which is over on the west side but is right by where I live.

    I'm playing Squirrel Run (New Iberia) at 10:44 and Les Vieux Chenes (Youngsville) at 4:26 tomorrow. It's gonna rain saturday and sunday I'm just gonna hang out at the house with some friends.

    Just found out today that I got the day off tomorrow so I'll be finding another course to play. Let me know if you've got nothing going on and want to go golfing tomorrow as well.

    I'd love to head out tomorrow, but I work til 5 every day during the week. Some weeknight or weekend we'll have to hit up a course. One I forgot to mention was Legendary Run, which is over on the east side, maybe 15 minutes from California. It is a beautiful course but is pretty tough as well. I'd recommend that one for this summer once you get in a rhythm.

    Any other golfers from Cincy on here? Could maybe get a foursome some weekend or something. If I'm not working then I'm up for golf, so any weeknight or weekend is good with me.
