How much cash do you owe your parents
-
gerb131I borrowed about 5g's from my mom when I was 19. I finally paid her back the year she died which was 5 yrs later. I paid her around 100$ every month, give or take the month. Glad I did too, although it wasn't a big deal to her, it was to me.
Now my dad is a different story. I asked him to borrow 1000 for college books and such and he quoted me a 8.8% interest rate lol and said I had 6 months to pay him back. He ain't hurting for money either.
My question is how much money do you owe your parent/s? -
DeyDurkie5my parents don't make me pay the money back, and won't lend me anything that is unreasonable. But when I start to make money and I get a shitload of it, I will definitely be paying them back in trips and random sweet gifts that is for sure.

CenterBHSFanFortunately, I don't owe them any money at all.

i have to work in the summer to get spending money, they dont give me squat for my own personal spending -
hasbeenI probably owe my parents thousands upon thousands of dollars that they'll never let me pay them back. However, when I can afford it, they'll get what they've earned.

slingshot4everNone. Grow up and use a credit card and take responsibility for your spending. Do your parents do your ironing for you too?

Only if you get out of control to begin with. I have never found it hard to spend within my own limits.gerb131 wrote:

I wish they would offer a class in high school or even a beginning class in college that shows you how to manage your money. I still struggle with it but I am getting better as I get less and less play money so to speak.slingshot4ever wrote:

But yeah, I owe them money. Although more than that I owe them for signing on my loans. -

I'm a parent..and as a parent...I still claim that I owe my parents $0.00. They will tell you the same. And if you're going to talk about 'while they raised me'. Well..that was on them..they chose to have a child. They will be paid back for that when I have to pay for their nursing home. LOL I've never borrowed cash from my parents that I never repaid.oletiger wrote: Yeah as a parent you claiming 0 better rethink that. -

We had a personal finance class offered in high school. But it was the easiest A in the school and most people took it for that reason only.gerb131 wrote:

And I owe my mom somewhere around $600. I got stuck with some bills/expenses I couldn't afford to pay and she bailed me out big time. -

I took the same class in my high school, had to put the same effort into it too. Not really worthwhile.wildcats20 wrote:
