The Monday Night Wars start tonight at 9pm
-
ZombieKillerTonight, TNA finally moves to Monday nights. They will be going against Raw.
What does everything think about this?
I don't mind TNA, but I can't stand Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. I really don't think they can compete against the WWE.
Here is what TNA has going tonight.
-Hulk Hogan/Abyss vs. Ric Flair/AJ Styles
-Kevin Nash/Eric Young vs. Scott Hall/Sean Waltman
-Rob Van Dam, Sting, and Jeff Hardy will be there
Here is what WWE has:
-John Cena vs. Vince McMahon
-Final Money in the Bank match
-The Undertaker/Shawn Michaels
-Guest Host Criss Angel -
bigdaddy2003I like to watch TNA once in a while but they don't have a chance to compete with WWE.
-
GoChiefsI'm pretty sure TNA isn't even expecting to compete with WWE right now. That would be ridiculous to think that.

Why else would they move to Monday night?GoChiefs wrote: I'm pretty sure TNA isn't even expecting to compete with WWE right now. That would be ridiculous to think that. -
darbypitcher22I'm sure people will have the last button programmed on their remote flipping back and forth
-
gibby08TNA will be closed within a year and a half
-
GoChiefs
B/c they will still draw more ratings with the wrestling fans just flipping back and forth being as how they are already watching wrestling that night. I know Monday night is the only night I watch wrestling..not Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. Since it's on Monday...I know I will be flipping back and forth between the 2 every week.bigdaddy2003 wrote: Why else would they move to Monday night? -
ZombieKillerGoChiefs, Hogan thinks they are competing with WWE. He thinks Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Nasty Boys, Jeff Hardy, Orlando Jordan, Rob Van Dam, Sean Waltman, and Mr.Anderson is going to push them over WWE.
-
ZombieKillerSpike TV is showing the replay of tonight's Impact on Thursday. So there really is no point in watching it tonight.
-
GoChiefsOf course Hogan thinks so..that's his ego..but I'm sure besides him and Bischoff...nobody else thinks they are going to compete with WWE. They aren't that stupid.
-
End of LineTNA will fail at this.
-
krazie45They probably won't even get over a 2 in the the ratings......TNA=pathetic excuse for a wrestling organization.
I'm not going to lie though, I'm interested to see Hogan attempt to wrestle. I read that on his Australian legends tour, he was so immobile that he couldn't even do his trademark leg drop. -
KnightXC1^^He can't do it anymore because of all the surgeries he has had on his hips and knees. He was an awful in ring wrestler anyways so expect nothing different tonight. Flair on the other hand can still put together a match but Styles and Abyss will do all the work in this match.
TNA will never catch WWE in terms of ratings. It just won't happen when they focus the show on guys way past their prime. I give them credit for going to Mondays in hopes of getting a better number but this in the long run will probably hurt them big time. -
The EqualizerThey got a 2.2 the last time they went head to head in January. I'm hoping that their creative team keeps the little bit of momentum they have going because lately WWE product has been better too. We're not going to get the #s for either show in the 5-6-7's like the old days but a little bit of competition will keep both shows fresh and enjoyable.
-
ZombieKillerWrestlemania is the time that the creative team is perfect. From Jan to April they are on their game. Then after Wrestlemania, they take steps backwards. After Wrestlemania, I think TNA can get closer within the ratings. But Hogan, Bischoff, and Dixie Carter need to realize they need to focus on guys like AJ, Pope, Samoa Joe, Machine Guns, Hernandez, Abyss, and Eric Young. Get rid of the old WWE rejects like The Outsiders and the Nasty Boys.
-
sportswizuhrdDont be surprised to see some midget wrestling tonight.
-
ZombieKillerLOL at TNA..they are worthless. Vince will buy them in a matter of months.
-
JugheadGood ole Kevin Nash..."match at Designation X"
-
ZombieKillerdid anyone watch TNA or Raw?
I thought Raw was pretty good. The handicap match with Orton and Legacy and Vince McMahon vs. Cena. That match was a good story going forward with Batista and Cena.
I'm really surprised that Evan Bourne is in MiB instead of Kofi Kingston. I really hope they give Kofi something for Wrestlemania.
TNA was a trainwreck
1. Hogan was focused at least 60% of the time. (along with Bubba the Love Sponge and Brooke Hogan's terrible porno acting)
2. They cut off the ending and no one got to see Hardy's Swanton Bomb.
3. RVD squashing Sting in less than 10 seconds -
Little DannyI only saw bits and pieces of Stings heel turn. I saw the part where he turned on Hogan and Abyss, and then his 5 second match with RVD. I also saw the aftermath when Sting pounded him and Hogan with the baseball bat and pushed around the refs. Not a good way to build up RVD but I believe the purpose was to give Sting as much heat as possible. I thought it was silly that Nash would not have come to Hogan's aid, particularly since Nash came out right after the break for his spot with X-Pac and Hall. That piece was terrible as well. That being said, Nash still is built very well for a guy his age and looks to be in tremendous shape. Hall, not so much. He needs to lose the beer gut like yesterday and if he is going to "Just For Men" his hair he needs to do something about his face.
-
darbypitcher22so sounds like TNA's first jab @ WWE on Monday Night was a total clunker
-
The EqualizerCame away pretty disappointed in their effort.
-
HereticWatching the Sting-RVD thing made me think that someone with TNA watched the Batista-Cena thing from two weeks ago (with the beat down, walk away, come back, beat down more, walk away again, come back again, beat down more vibe), liked it and decided to reproduce it.
-
KnightXC1I personally thought Raw was pretty awful last night. The opening promo was fine but took too long and the Vince/Cena match was alright but very predictable. Only good match was Orton against Legacy. I would expect Kofi to face McIntyre now since neither have anything to do at Mania.
5 second matches and focusing the whole show on Hogan? No surprise there TNA. -
Eric TaylorLast night, TNA was the better show, there is no question.
