Eric TaylorMcIntyre wont win Money In The Bank?
I would bet that he will because Vince is a huge mark for him and he is close with HHH. Look at what happened with the last young guy who was close with Hunter. -
Eric Taylor
Christian will never get a serious main event singles push because Vinny is not a big fan of his at all.ZombieKiller wrote: I'm a huge Shelton Benjamin fan and I really hope he wins. I highly doubt he will, but I wish it happens. I wouldn't be upset if MVP or Swagger won, because they have been held down for a while. Christian is the obivious name to win it and I just hope they pull an upset.
I always go back to (I believe it was the Sept '06 Pay Per View) when Cena defended the WWE title against Christian and pretty much squashed him. That would have been the perfect time to put the title on him and it showed how much faith Vince has in him. -
KnightXC1^^ I guess I could go back to tons of matches early in the career of Shawn Michaels, HHH, Austin, Rock where they got squashed by a bigger name guy. If Vince didn't like Christian, he wouldn't have been ECW Champion for 6 months and would have lost to Big Zeke long before the final ECW show. The only thing Vince has against him is that he left fot TNA. And if you want to go back to 06 when Cena was champ, he squashed pretty much everyone from Angle, Jericho, HHH, HBK, and anyone else. Not the best time to reflect on. That is like looking back on when Hogan was champ and never lost, ever.
Just because Vince and HHH like him doesn't mean McIntyre will win. Every MITB winner has been a solidly established star (Edge, RVD, Kennedy, Punk) whom the crowd was very much behind or hated. McIntyre gets no reaction at all and no one would care with him as a champion. Christian, MVP, and Swagger get good reactions whenever they come out. Vince likes certain guys but don't think he won't do what is better for business over whom he likes. And McIntyre would not be good for business at this point in time. Maybe at the MITB PPV later this year but not at the biggest show of the year. -
Heretic^^
Yeah, there's a reason Sheamus doesn't currently have the belt. Vince, HHH, whoever might love him, but they're not going to have a 'Mania moment involve him in a title match. McIntyre needs built up a bit more before being anything other than a mid-card guy. The "Vince is rewriting history on the fly to get him into MitB" is a good start, but he has to actually do something really assholish. Unfortunately, Mysterio is in a program with Punk, as beating the living shit out of the l'il guy always draws good heat...no matter how many times it's been done. -
End of LineI'm ready to see Shelton Benjamin to do something like this:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> -
Eric TaylorIf he was not going to win, I dont know what the point was of adding him as the 9th person in the match.
It will be either McIntyre or Christian who wins.
Anybody other than McIntyre wins and it will be the first time since they have made the match that the person who wins does not win a World Title with the briefcase. -
krazie45Shelton has been long overdue for a push. He started to get one after beating HHH on Raw during HHH's dominant streak and started to get pretty well over with the fans (which grew even more after his match with HBK when HBK superkicked him flying off of the ropes. Still today one of the biggest "holy shit" moments of all time.) his problem is that he doesn't have the best mic skills so in order to make up for that he needs to be given an effective gimmick. Unfortunately they gave him that stupid gimmick with his "mama" and he fell off during that. The "Gold Standard" thing is alright but I personally think he makes a better face than a heel thanks to his abilities. He's arguably the most athletic guy in the WWE.
-
ZombieKillerKnight, Christian didn't exactly leave to go to TNA. His contract expired and WWE never resigned him. It's not Christian's fault, its all on WWE.
If Drew McIntyre won, I really wouldn't mind. The Money in the Bank match should be a match that pushes the younger talent. Rob Van Dam, Edge, and CM Punk won their titles because of this match. Maybe Drew will be the first one to cash in the contact and then lose.
I've been a HUGE fan of Shelton from the start of his WWE career. I think his mic skills are one of the bigger reasons he never held a big title. He is alright on the microphone, but he isn't steller like Triple H or Cena. -
darbypitcher22damn there were some HUGE bumps in that video
-
KnightXC1Eric, the point of adding him to the match is that they have nothing else for him to do and they are not going to leave the Intercontinental Champion off the biggest show of the year. Same goes for Kofi whom they have to do something with since he is one of the biggger stars on Raw and in the WWE. Don't get all excited about them making up rules for him to get in. I like McIntyre but like Heretic said, you have no reason to care for him until he does something relevant. He, like many other guys (Shelton especially) would have benefited greatly from having someone like Bobby Heenan or Jimmy Hart in his corner to make everyone hate him. And they won't waste the WM MITB match for the guy to lose since they will have 2 such matches this year so that person is more likely to lose. But it really devalues the mystique of the match if they have the winner cash it in and lose. Would immediately kill that guy and anything he had going.
Zombie, Christian chose to leave because of the easier work schedule in TNA. Don't think WWE didn't offer him a deal to stay because they did and he turned it down. Now I'm sure they could have offered more but they called his bluff and he left.
They dropped the ball on Shelton a few times but his mic work is what holds him back. If he was even in the vicinity of Bret Hart on the mic, he would have been a champ by now. -
Eric TaylorI got this from Wrestlezone.com, could it be a sign they are thinking of a Christian win in Money In The Bank?
"Word from within WWE is that the winner of this year’s Money in the Bank match will cash in his shot sooner than usual, possibly even that night. The decision will most likely depend on what they plan for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in July." -

How does that point to Christian winning?Eric Taylor wrote: I got this from Wrestlezone.com, could it be a sign they are thinking of a Christian win in Money In The Bank?

HereticMy guess would be having him cash it in that night against Edge or Jericho, as he'd have ready-made feuds with both of them, due to being associated with both in the past.
Of all the contestants, he's the one who combines having the credibility of being in the main event scene with a ready-made feud with a champ. Unless they wanted to revisit Matt Hardy vs. Edge, which wouldn't make sense without Lita in the company. -

That's what I'm wondering.Leonardo wrote:

Only thing I could see, would be that they mean Edge will win, Christian, will come out to celebrate him, begin his "brother" and all, and maybe cash in the MITB to win. Outside of that, I don't see another way this points to Christian winning. -
KnightXC1I have been dying for them to do this the past 2 years with MITB. I thought it would have been a great idea for Kennedy to repeat at WM 24 to cash it in later that night since he originally was going to cash it in that night. This year would make perfect sense if Christian wins to cash in right away against Edge assuming he beats Jericho. Allows Edge to go back to being a heel and gets Christian over big time.
-
ZombieKillerWhat about Christian cashing in on Cena? Christian and Cena feuded before Christian left. It could get him over as a heel. Raw doesn't have a lot of big name heels anymore.
-
osu45804The Christian/Cena feud was pretty entertaining when it was the Rapper Cena....
(4:55 mark) -
Eric TaylorEdge has been billed as the "Ultimate Opportunist" every time he was won the World Title.
Edge and Jericho have a long match with Edge beating Jericho, then Christian comes out and does the same thing to Edge and defeats him for the World Title.
That is the only thing that would make sense if that is the direction they go.
I found this on the WWE site. It is pretty funny reading some of the responses.

Eric TaylorIt is now being reported that a 10th man will be added Monday Night on RAW.
This is a horrible decision. -
GoChiefsWhy is it a horrible decision? This is always one of if not the best match at 'mania. Adding 2 more people will make it that much better. Come on..you got to have someone to replace Kane.
-
Eric Taylor8 was too many, 10 is just too much.
It will be harder to follow now with 10 guys.
He should have kept it at 6 guys.
Putting in 10 kind of waters it down a littlie bit. -
KnightXC1It's ten because they had to put Kofi in the match. That is only reason and because guys get knocked down and out for minutes at a time during this match, it won't be that hard to follow, especially on TV.
-
gibby08It was perfect at 6 guys.
I dont really understand why they need 10, but whatever works for them.
Is there anybody in this match besides Christian or McIntyre who would have a legit shot of winning a title? -
LeonardoI also enjoyed it when it was just six guys.
-
KnightXC1Gibby, yes there is. I honestly will be amazed if McIntyre wins since he is no where near ready for something like that. The guys who could win and be champion in the not too distant future include Christian, MVP, Swagger, Kofi (assuming he goes in). You could make a case for Kane and Fatt Hardy but those two will never be champs again. Those first 4 are very capable of being champion this year.
