The Monday Night Wars start tonight at 9pm

ralphus33TNA has not been very good, but I actually thought they had the more entertaining show last night. Raw had a lot of talk that didn't interest me (Undertaker-HBK, HHH-Sheamus) and little wrestling. TNA had its bad points.(I hated seeing Flair and Hogan wrestling. I do not want to see them die in the ring.) They also had some things that were decent(Eric Young-Sean Waltman and the thought of an RVD-Sting match, but not the short one they had last night)
I wouldn't necessarily say TNA is a breath of fresh air, but it at least provides an alternative to Raw where every show comes off so scripted and predictable. TNA doesn't come of as so scripted, but that is just because they are so unorganized and their booking doesn't always make sense. -
krazie45I set the over/under on Vince buying out TNA at 2 years.....anyone care to take the over?
I try to watch TNA but it's so bad that I can't even keep focus. The quality of their roster is horrible. The roster is literally full of guys who should be in an indy promotion, old WWE/WCW guys that are WAY past their prime, and finally you've got the WWE rejects. The quality of the wrestling doesn't come close to WWE. They do have less talking, but that doesn't make up for the poor quality of the show as a whole. -
Little Danny
I do think TNA does a little bit more improvisionization than RAW. It appears they are willing to go with what works. Sometimes that is a good thing, sometime it is very bad. I think too much script can hurt you.ralphus33 wrote: TNA has not been very good, but I actually thought they had the more entertaining show last night. As far as the Sting-RVD match, I think the whole reason it was so short was an attempt to not make RVD look totally bad by coming out and getting his but kicked on his first day there. It was a trade off for actually getting his butt kicked by Sting after the fact, but at least he can hang his hat on beating Sting when it mattered. -
ZombieKillerKnight, I think Kofi might be doing something else at Wrestlemania. I think he will have a match, but it will be something no one thinks of.
-
Eric TaylorI will be interested to see what the ratings are.
-
krazie45
I'd be surprised if TNA broke a 2. They only got a 2.2 when Hogan had his huge return.Eric Taylor wrote: I will be interested to see what the ratings are.
WWE will be around it's 3-4 average I would imagine. -
baseballstud24If Vince didn't want the competition, there would be none. He's a businessman and realizes that competition brings more people to the table.
-
GoChiefs
I doubt Vince will buy TNA..they will just fold up and shut down on their own.krazie45 wrote: I set the over/under on Vince buying out TNA at 2 years.....anyone care to take the over? -
KnightXC1
Oh yea? Please do enlighten me as I am curious what you have in mind. I mean he, Mcintyre, Mysterio, and Punk have nothing yet and there isn't a women's match so I don't know how they can fit everyone in right now already having 7 matches.ZombieKiller wrote: Knight, I think Kofi might be doing something else at Wrestlemania. GoChiefsThis is 'Mania Knight. No way they will only have 7 matches. Heck..here's a rundown of the last few years
Wrestlemania 25 had 8 matches
24 had 9 matches
23 had 8 matches
22 had 11 matches
21 had 8 matches
20 had 12 matches
I'm sure we have not seen the final card by no means. Kofi is one of there bigger mid cards/lower main eventers. He'll be at the show. -
ZombieKillerWell, CM Punk and Mystero will have a match. Maybe a hair/mask match. They could throw in McIntyre just to have an IC match.
But I think they will have Kofi save Orton from a beat down by Legacy and team them up at Wrestlemania. They ahve to have a match between Orton and Legacy. They already blew their handicrap match last night. Unless somehow Rhodes and Dibiase have problems and they make it a triple threat match. It's the only thing I can think of they can use for Kofi. They really dropped the ball with him lately. I thought he was injured until he was on last night.
Do you really want to see a women's match? Unless they someone bring in Awesome Kong and have her destroy McCool. That would be the only thing worth seeing. There is no Diva posing in Playboy, so that usual angle is done. Mickie James and Beth Phoenix are the best diva wrestlers and they aren't in an angle together. The only thing I can see happening was Eve vs. Maryse since Eve has been on a roll as of late.
I really think the Tag Team Match will be the match shown just for the crowd, before Wrestlemania. It will just be like last years match with Carlito/Primo vs. Miz/Morrison. They hyped it up and then we never saw it. I was hoping they wouldv'e worked in an angle with the NXT show. Maybe have Miz get sick of Daniel Bryan and challenge him to a match at Wrestlemania for the US belt.
But something that would make sense and interesting, doesn't work in the WWE anymore. : ( -
Little DannyI love T&A (not to be confused with TNA) as much as the next guy; but I honestly believe the diva matches need to end. I really have no interest in watching them wrestle. When the diva's come on for a match, I turn the channel. It's sort of like watching WNBA basketball, it is not as good as a product as the men's. Go back to the days of female valet's I say.

lets_go_devilsTNA coulda been better but they were head and shoulders better than RAW.
-
ZombieKillerthe ratings are in:
Raw: 3.4
Impact: 1.0 (lower than Thursday's taped show)
Impact isn't going to be getting better. Ken Doane (Kenny from Spirit Squad) and Spike Dudley are going to be debuting soon. Plus next week they are having AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy. That's a PPV match and they are wasting it on free tv. Similar to what WCW did with Hogan and Goldberg. So they bring in Hardy to feud with AJ and that leaves The Pope out in the cold. Say what you want about WWE. They are consistant with their stories. They don't throw them around week by week. Bischoff and Hogan is seriously ruining TNA. -
KnightXC1Zombie, the idea with Kofi teaming with Randy is interesting but not likely as I doubt they team Randy with anyone. A triple threat amongst those 3 is the most likely. Punk and Mysterio is also likely but I don't understand why they haven't announced it yet. I would imagine it happens tonight at the SD tapings. It's not that I want to see a women's match but it's a given they will have one, especially to calm the crowd down before a big match. I don't think they are putting the Big Show, Miz, and Morrison on the dark match as those 3 are big stars. That should be on the actual show.
That still leaves Kofi with the only credible person for him to fight being Drew McIntyre for the IC Title. That seems like the only reasonable thing to do with those two guys. -
Eric TaylorThat is not good for TNA.
I had totally forgotten about Kofi. not being involved
Punk vs Mysterio in a Hair vs Mask match has been rumored for a long time and could be one of the best matches on the entire card if they let it happen.
I dont know what to think of Vince making Taker-HBK a No DQ, No Countout match. That is almost a blatant giveaway that a run-in will occur. I would love to see Hunter come out and screw Shawn. I dont know who would come out to help Shawn, I suppose it could also be Hunter.

That quote from HBK, if true is interesting. You could take it either way, but it almost looks like he will win if they are indeed planning to send him off in a Ric Flair way next year. -
HereticTNA's mistake is threefold.
1. Moving to Monday nights WAY before they were ready to do so. They're still randomly introducing people and the new regime really hasn't even figured out how they're going to use people. It's easy to get the idea that they write one show at a time with no clue as to what will happen next week. Hell, they can't even decide if Bischoff's a face or heel from one segment to the next (dealing with Foley, Jarrett = heel...promoting the X Division and seemingly siding with Nash/Young over Hall/Waltman = face).
2. Focusing on the old guys WAY too much while cutting down on their younger talent. It's kind of depressing when you notice that Styles, Dinero, Wolfe and to a lesser extent, Abyss (who could have been a good new version of Mankind if they hadn't spent the past eternity making him a drooling imbecile) are essentially being used as the "supporting cast" for Hogan, Flair and to a lesser extent, Sting.
3. Hogan as an authority figure GM-type? No problem with that. Entire shows focusing on Hogan to satisfy his ego? Utter bullshit. The only thing I remember from last Thursday was that every 10 minutes, you had someone trying to talk him out of wrestling with him declaring this was his "one shot". Last night, he dominated the air time getting beat down in a match, getting beat down by Sting, having his daughter beg him to stop and then being in the main event. The sad thing is that, in his mind, he probably thinks he was putting people over because Abyss got the pin and Jeff Hardy made the save at the end.
Guess what, Hulk! Two hours of Hulkamania (and pals) gave you a .98 rating! And next week, you'll be running a taped show while the WWE has Stone Cold as host and three "Wrestlemania rematches" announced. Even if the show sucks, it will likely be a ratings massacre. -
sportswizuhrdKofi will be in a tag match with Orton. McIntyre will be in the MIB match as a "last minute replacement" or he will just be added to it by Vince as a thank you for helping in the gauntlet match like he did with Batista(vs Cena).
-
KnightXC1^^ 9 guys in MITB is way too many. It's tough keeping track of 8 let alone another vital guy in the match. Might as well add Kofi too and give it an even ten since Kofi and Randy as a team would be very weird and hard for people to buy into.
-
ZombieKillerjust saw the real rating for Impact. It really got a .98
-

An IC match with those two would be hard for people to buy into as well with two weeks of Raw and Smackdown to go.KnightXC1 wrote: ^^ 9 guys in MITB is way too many. ZombieKillerI just read the spoilers and lets say that one of you was right
-
Eric TaylorGee, I wonder who is going to win Money In The Bank now?
Pretty stupid decision. -
KnightXC1Well they did put 9 guys in to my surprise but I won't be surprised one bit if Kofi gets in on Monday for an even 10. And if not, the only thing left for him is to be thrown in with Randy. Either way, I don't like how they are booking it all. They also finally added Punk vs Mysterio for Mania as well.
McIntyre won't win MITB. Barely anyone gives a damn about him and he has no charisma whatsoever. I like him a bunch but he isn't ready for that yet. Christian, MVP, or Swagger will win. A commercial for a show after Mania advertised Swagger defending his MITB title against Kofi. Not going to read too much into that but those 3 are the favorites. Kane and Matt Hardy aren't getting another title shot, Bourne and Ziggler are not viable yet, Benjamin can't get over enough. Should be some great spots in the match though with the guys they have put in. Plenty of high flyers. -
ZombieKillerI'm a huge Shelton Benjamin fan and I really hope he wins. I highly doubt he will, but I wish it happens. I wouldn't be upset if MVP or Swagger won, because they have been held down for a while. Christian is the obivious name to win it and I just hope they pull an upset.
