Caddie Steve Williams to protect Tiger Woods from hecklers on return
-
benoleSorry, the day Tiger decided that he would represent these companies and become a "Role model" for kids everywhere, And yes, he portrayed himself as such, he benefitted from all of it, he took on a certain amount of accountability to the public. Sorry, just a fact. He let down every one of his fans. I hope he gets abused, he has always been, smug, arrogant, and aloof, he deserves everything he gets. heckle away people, heckle away. If it wouldn't put me in jail I'd kick Stevie's ass myself.
-
Be NiceLittle known fact....who has been the most fined golfer the last 5 years on the PGA Tour? Tiger Woods. But yet we never hear about his fines. Wonder why?
-

Because the PGA doesn't disclose their fines because they are none of your damned business.Be Nice wrote: Little known fact....who has been the most fined golfer the last 5 years on the PGA Tour? Tiger Woods. But yet we never hear about his fines. Wonder why?
I'm not even trying to be funny, that's the reason. It makes sense that he's fined more because the camera is on him more so any outburst he would have would be seen and then fined. A lesser known player would be more likely to get away with a swear session because the cameras might not be around to catch it. -

You decided he was a role model, he decided he'd take a check from Nike.benole wrote: Sorry, the day Tiger decided that he would represent these companies and become a "Role model" for kids everywhere, And yes, he portrayed himself as such, he benefitted from all of it, he took on a certain amount of accountability to the public. Be NiceHey smart ass pants...if the camera is on him so much then why does he act like an ass, swear and throw clubs? Some role model you got there. Make all the excuses you want. How long you been a Tiger groupie?
-
I Wear PantsI didn't call him a role model and what did I do to you? I answered why you don't hear about PGA fines.
Way to listen to your user name douchebag. -

I'm one of the biggest Tiger fans out there and I don't feel let down one bit. I could care less what he does off the course. Role models are your parents and teachers and the like, not professional athletes.benole wrote: He let down every one of his fans. -
Be Nicefancy pants....douchebag? lol Couldn't you do any better than that? lol Thanks, pro, for the info.
-
I Wear PantsYeah because "fancy pants" is so damned witty.
Quit being butt hurt by people who you have no connection or investment in. -
Be Nicefancy...butt hurt? You need to go to the thread about gays. Sorry, not interested.
-
september63If he gets heckled at tour stops, he deserves it. I know golf crowds usually dont get too crazy but I wouldnt fault anyone yelling at him. I also agree when he accepted millions for being a certain role model this opened him up for whatever heckling the crowds wanna give him.

Lol you need to separate the sports world and reality. The fact that you are that worked up over a professional athlete's infidelity is more than a little sad.benole wrote: Sorry, the day Tiger decided that he would represent these companies and become a "Role model" for kids everywhere, And yes, he portrayed himself as such, he benefitted from all of it, he took on a certain amount of accountability to the public. benoleI personally have never been a fan of Tiger, and he certainly was never a "Role model" to me. But to bury your head in the sand and deny that Tiger fully embraced the idea of being a role model and actually encouraged people to admire, look up to, and emulate him is assinine. Some of you are just such big fans of Tiger that you are now in denial. I am sorry that the object of your man-crush has proven to be a total loser as a human being. I am tired of listening to athletes who "Count on" the fans and their admiration for their livelihood one day, turning their backs on the fans and acting as if their "Image" doesn't matter the next day. I am not "sad", the sports world is part of the reality that is our society, and I believe that we should hold all people accountable. Many people cheered for Tiger because of the "person" he pretended to be just as much as his golf game. (Which is more worth being cheered for). When he proves to be the opposite of that image, he deserves to be jeered.
By the way, obviously, "We" do hear about these PGA tour fines or we would not be discuusiing it now. Not like its a state secret. Tiger always gets a pass. -
I Wear PantsYou act like he pretended to be some kind of family man super dad or something. He was never seen much with his family and they were never involved in advertising or the awarding of trophies/jackets.
Most of his advertisements were based on him being an excellent golfer or someone who exceeds in their field, which he was/is.
Cheering for an athlete because they're a good person is stupid, cheer them for their athletic prowess and how they play the game. Otherwise why don't you go cheer on the people who work at a local food pantry or homeless shelter? They're good people. -
ohiotiger33Yes it sounds like you were one of those hurt by his infidelity. I have two role models in this world, and they are my parents. I like Tiger because he can stick a wedge and make a ten footer when it counts, not because he claims to be some sort of family man. I will admit I was surprised when I heard the news, but it didn't crush me or make me angry. He has only released like 4 pictures of him and his family, and that was to get the media off his ass, but he has never overtly tried to be the family man.
I like the golfer tiger, and I don't care about the off the field Tiger.
The same is true with many of my other favorite athletes of all time: Patrick Roy (Domestic Disputes and violence) and John Elway (Domestic Disputes) are good examples. -
SageNext time Tiger comes to the Memorial, I'm drinking a bottle of Bligh and Stevie is gettin fuckin dumped on National TV.
They can kick me out, but who gives a shit? Pussy ass PGA. -
SageAnd Tiger doesn't owe shit to anybody except his wife.
Think Tiger would have millions of fans if he was just a regular joe? Hardly.
People are his fans cuz he's good at golf. The only way hed owe them an apology if he was actively enaged in cheating (the game).
Still, he's always struck me as a douche bag, and it is a heckler's dream to heckle in an environment like that.
There will be blood!!! -
benoleYou cheer for Tiger because he can stick a wedge and sink putts? Hmm? When would that not be enough? I mean, how far with bad behavior and being a total putz would a great golfer have to go before you would say, "Ok, I can't root for that douche, I'll never respect him again"? I have never understood why people tend to root and cheer for bad people just because they can perform on the field.
I wanna see SAGE do it, Kick Stevie's butt!!!! -
I Wear PantsBecause that is what I care about in sports, the competition itself. When I'm watching a basketball game I don't say "oh look at him, he's such a good family man!"
If I wanted to watch good people do something I'd go to a church function or a soup kitchen or similar. -
Con_AlmaMuhammad Ali and Babe Ruth are still revered to this day because of their succes in competition even though they were womanizers.

Be NiceThe apple didn't fall to far from the tree. Tigers old man did the same thing. At the time of his death him and Tigers mom no longer lived together. Like father like son. Yea, sure Tiger is a great golfer, but not the alltime best. He's yet to beat Jack's records. Maybe he will and maybe he won't. But we do know this.....Jack is a great family man. Tiger gets a triple bogey if that.
Will Stevie be able to protect Tiger from hecklers? No way. What's he going to do? Jump over the ropes and tackle people, get in their face and cause a scene? Seriously, I hope he does. Someone will jack slap him from here to Spain and that is exactly what he needs. It will make for good entertainment on Sports Center. -
