Could you please show me where I was giving any obese people any counseling? If anything..I was trying to give 'skinny' people who have ignorance on the subject some reasoning as to why in fact some people are obese.
You are calling derek out for having no clue on the subject.

Just because you are overweight doesn't give you any more expert knowledge than the next poster on this board.

Well as a matter of fact it does make me more of an expert. If you haven't lived the life..you know absolutely nothing about it.

I bet this guy takes a cart when he golfs.

Once again, you cannot give expert professional advice just because you are also fat.
  • GoChiefs
Once again..show me where I have given anyone advice? I've given insight on why some people are obese..but I have not given ANYONE any advice.

Of course you don't, that would require doing something active....Instead you sit on your computer and bitch and complain about people calling out fat, lazy, obese people....put the cheetos, pop, and computer down and go do something active for an hour each day, you would be amazed at the results....some people...

Aaah..I was wondering how long that would take. ;) I don't golf b/c I hate golf. I still play football, baseball, and do many other things that is active. Instead of trying to be funny..maybe you should know a little about someone first huh? Don't ya think? Instead of criticizing..maybe know why someone is the way they are first? I'm not going to get into why or why not I'm overweight..b/c frankly..that is none of your damn business. But I can assure you..that is definitely not the case. Besides..I don't even like Cheetos!

And who was complaining about anyone calling anyone fat? I could care less what anyone wants to call someone on teh internets. I find it funny you talk about someone sitting on there computer and bitching..yet..isn't that exactly what you're doing? No? You're 'tough guy' words on a keyboard affect me 0 in my day to day life. As I noted above..just trying to give some insight on why some people are indeed overweight. B/c it's not just b/c they are 'lazy and inactive' for every person that is overweight.

I have no problem making it your business if you'd like..do you really want me to go into my medical history? You really want to hear about it? No..I didn't think so. How about this..I'm 6'4..350lbs. I have been the same weight for many years now. I was a pipeliner for about 7 years..you don't get much more active than that! 5 days a week..at least 12 hours a day..you know what..didn't lose any weight. Don't try to tell me it's b/c I'm not 'active'. I have an 8 year old son..I'm outside with him playing all summer long..don't shed a pound. It's not an excuse jackass..it's a fact. Why you trying to be a hardass? If you know me..you would know..if it was b/c I sat around and did nothing all day long..I would be the first one to admit it. I am not ashamed of who I am one single bit. I have nothing to hide. If that was the case..I would tell you that's why I'm overweight.

I see you had to add on to your rambling.....

As you can see, we both joined the huddle in the same month and you have over 2000 posts....I know i know, you are able to get on and post at work...well i am too but fortunately for me my company pays me to actually work....and lets talk about doing something with a condition we may or may not have....I put on some extra, unwanted pounds, so instead of sticking up for fat, lazy, obese people I get my ass out of bed every morning at 5 am and go to the gym....Then on the weekends when i am off i hit it twice a day...I have also changed my eating habits, cut my calories and carbs....I am doing something about it instead of defending a way of life....and yes, people actually do have a thyroid problem but most are just lazy asses....

Now go on and blast me/us once again....I won't be back on for a while as i have better things to do than sit on the internet and argue points with you....

ps. 30 mins a day is all it takes....lol

Ahh..see..there ya go..no..I'm laid off..I have been laid off..since April..so yeah..I have more time than you do obviously dumbass. ;) But when I am working..guess what..my machine runs by itself when it's set up..my job is to babysit it..so yes..I AM able to work and post at the same time. AND I am still doing what I get paid to do..make rollers. Just keep on posting..you keep showing your ignorance with each post.

Wow..you get up at 5 am? God bless you! You get up a whole 15 minutes before me! And your assuming again..whoever said it was a thyroid problem anyways? I know I never!

And I don't have to 'blast' you..I haven't 'blasted' you at all..I have just called you out on your ignorance. In fact..it has been quite the reverse. You think you are holier than thou b/c you aren't overweight. Who is 'blasting' who? Are you that insecure with yourself that you have no other need in life than try to put down others? I mean..don't get me wrong. I did the same thing..but then I turned 12. So I didn't feel the need to do that anymore. It appears you are the only one trying to argue..I was trying to educate..maybe help some understand why some people are indeed overweight. You ran your mouth..and I simply replied..which anyone would.

    ps..your just obviously a dick...lol?

I understand that there are a lot of reasons people are overweight, but the main reason is that America caters to that lifestyle. I mean, I see a commercial for Golden Corall and I want to barf. Do people really need that much food? And I am all for live and let live but the fact is obese people DO drive up costs of things, especially healthcare. I think if you have diabetes, a heart condition and other health issues that are directly related to your weight, you should pay more. At the same time I think incentives should be given to people who try to take control of their problem by seeing a specialist to deal with the emotional issues and developing a healthy fitness and diet plan.

I definitely agree with you there. Obese people are definitely driving up costs. And if it's just b/c u are lazy and inactive...I can even agree with obese people paying more. As it is nobody's fault but there own. If they are trying to make an effort though..then I would have an issue..like I said..with some..it is nothing more than an addiction. Are we going to make alcoholics and drug users pay more for there addictions too? I know there are many obese people that do want to do something about it but they just don't have the know how or the resources to do it. Simply b/c it is the only life they have known since they were basically a child.

How many times have you seen a family out shopplng, either in the grocery store or somewhere else and the parents are simply huge. Morbidly obese....and the kids follow..equally obese. Would you say that this habit was established long before the kids had any idea that what they were doing by gorging themselves at every meal wasn't healthy? How many times have you been in a Smorgasbord type restaurant and observed (nonchalantly) the size of the portions that the various people bring back to the table? Particularly if the entire family appears to be overweight to the danger level?? This behavior is what many adults today learned as children. It is a fact that our young people are getting fatter and fatter. These are the parents of the future. What do you think will happen to their kids??? Contrary to the general attitude on this thread, it isn't a simple question. They aren't lazy...they are ignorant about nutrition and by the time they become adults, it is an addiction in many cases. Many of them can't run down to the gym 2 or 3 days a week to keep fit. By the time many of them are adults, they can barely walk. They don't think it's important. It takes education. Ridicule and derision don't do any good at all

hmm... that whole piece of advice about not going might work... not only do I not have to deal with somebody's rolls hitting me every time they get up or sit down, but I also have my food 10 feet away in the kitchen and the shitter is 10 feet away down the hallway... much more convenient

I really don't care why the oversize person next to me is spilling over into my space, health reasons, overeating, whatever. If you pay for one seat, that's all you get. Stay out of my space. Just stay on "their side of the line". There's nothing unfair about that. I was at a Broadway show this year, my first ever- the tickets were expensive and the seats are close together. The bloated woman next to me kept attempting to ease on over my way, and I just wasn't accomodating her by giving in and moving over. She finally switched seats with her husband and he had the courtesy and consideration to do what she wouldn't and took up only the space he paid for. At least she moved, but from her murmuring it was obviously for her comfort and not mine.
  • GoChiefs
No doubt it is a nuisance..for me..I know what places have big enough seating for me to sit comfortably. If I can't be comfortable...I'm not going. Or if I know the seats are a bit smaller..I will make sure that I get an aisle seat so the only ones I'm being inconsiderate to is my wife.

Chiefs ... you are wasting your time trying to argue with shallow narrow minded people who have no clue.

A person who is obese because of medical problems is no different than someone who can't walk because they have MS ... or someone who can't talk because they had throat cancer ... but I am sure you who like to criticize probably make fun of those people too or expect them to stay home.
  • NNN
I demand that smelly people be forced to buy the adjacent seats in every direction (eight extra in most cases) so I don't have to sit next to them and be forced to inhale the wonderful stench of greasy hair and sweat.

I demand that loud people be forced to buy two adjacent seats in every direction (sixteen extra) so I don't go deaf from them yelling about what they did last week.

I demand that gassy people check which way the airflow is, then buy up entire rows so no one has to be downwind.

I have rights too, damn it!

I think most understand that obese people do have medical problems that 'force' them to be obese, but I think most intelligent rational people also understand there's something called the doctor that you can go to for help. So, if you are fat, its your own damn fault.

Food addiction? Get help. Throat cancer? Doctor. etc...

I use to work at a grocery store and its interesting that all the skinny "healthy" people were buying fruits, vegetables, lean meat, and whole grains, while all the fat lazy POS were buying pop, candy, chips, while blaming their "problems" on bullshit like "food addiction" LOL

I personally don't have a problem with overweight people, because I've always said that you should judge someone on the content of their character, rather than the color of their skin, but you're being a dumbass, and I wouldn't be surprised if you're overweight too.

jesus christ, this topic is stupid. i don't give a shit if you're sitting in a section of 6ft 200lb "normal" people at nationwide, the shoe, where the f ever, your ass is gonna be cramped for space. I'm a big dude, prolly 6ft3 280 and my ass can't fit in half the seats at some of these places. maybe you should have said something to him so he could've laid your ass out?
