    I told my brother-in-law (currently serving in the Armed Forces) about this guy, and he even thinks the guy is probably someone who signed up in the reserves for the status instead of the service, has never seen any live action whatsoever.

    Most current or former military personnel don't wear it like a badge ... and those who don't are usually the ones who deserve to.

    Honestly, if someone of any age asked me nicely for my spot, military or not, and they gave a reason (bum leg, etc.), I'd probably give it to them. I'm quite capable of standing.

    However, unless you're my boss or a parent/grandparent, you don't have the right to demand anything from me, and if you try, any goodwill I might have had goes out the window. There's a big difference between, "Excuse me; I'm sorry, but would you mind letting me sit where you are for a little bit?" and "Yo, give me your seat."
