1st commandment - yet i haven't been punished for breaking it. If he existed he would uphold his commandments right? If he really existed he'd prove all doubters wrong, right? I mean, if you're an all knowing being, why would you want doubt in peoples minds? It doesn't make sense.

Taking religion as fact is insane to me.

Why would you make that assumption?

Calling me a liar is no less 'arrogant'.

I never called you a liar, I said your mind is broken. They are closely related, but not the same.

No offense, but there are many logical fails in this post.

Replying to my post by saying "And I am Bill Gates" is a passive agressive substitute for calling someone a liar. So yes, you did.

jmog is quickly becoming the worst religious dude on this forum. The point is the child is being taught hate, and his religious parents/church taught him this. It's awful. End of story.

I dunno. jmog thinks cause he writes scholarly articles, his view of religion is right. It's hilarious.

It's fun watching you people getting all rattled over someone having the nerve to believe in the Man In the Sky.

and trotting out a weak "argument" that such a belief is any more of a stretch than believing in the "great coincidence".

If you are referring to me, then no it's not that at all. My whole issue is the fact that people say this is terrible, blame the churches/religion, and people who believe in it come to the defense. Believe what you want, but don't put the belief of hate in children at such a young age. It's ruining society and has been for years.

I do find it funny though, that the people who believe in the "hewhomustnotbenamed" can't just admit this has to do with religion.

Because it doesn't. It has to do with one particular church...which isn't even close to being the same thing.

That day is coming. Romans 14:11 "'As surely as I live,' says the LORD, every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess and give praise to God.'" God has already given you several examples of his existence, you have obviously chosen to ignore them or try and give your own explanation for things.

This happens across a lot of churches. You are naive if you think otherwise. Hell, a pastor just talked about killing every homo in the world. Very god like!

There are over 450,000 Churches in the USA, you have now named 3 Churches where stupid stuff went on and you consider that a lot?

Choosing to believe that these outliers are the norm is easier than a real debate, but it just ain't so.

Do you believe that the Westboro Baptist Church, for example, is representative of the typical Christian church? Or is even a church at all?

I believe their views on homosexuality are, for the most part, in the same viewpoint with almost every church out there.

I'm not believing the outliers are the norm, but I am saying religion has given this country it's views on homosexuality.

I didn't say it was a lot dumbass. I said this goes on or the viewpoint goes on in a majority of the churches.

You actually believe that "God hates ****" is the position of the typical church? Sorry, not buying. I believe that the position of the average church is "hate the sin, love the sinner", even if some of the people in the church struggle to live up to that concept.

All 450,000 peddle an unproven belief system to influence and extract financial means from its customers while perpetuating said myth unto its future customers(children of believer parents). It's a great business model; I must admit.

Did you actually read my posts or just assume? I said the church was a bunch of idiots. Nice fail.
