Seriously, wtf how do you leave him off? -
HereticOr this guy.

Commander of AwesomeI voted Biggie. I was never a huge 2pac fan though I like him more than Jay Z or Eminem (never understood his appeal). No members of Wu-Tang on this list is upsetting.

justincredibleJohnny Cash. For serious.

I would agree with this, though he takes a hit IMO because he didn't write much of his own material.gut;1165201 wrote:We Want E-Z!!!

Depends on your definition....By the same token, Dre is more of a producer. "Rapper" to me means performerCommander of Awesome;1165210 wrote:I would agree with this, though he takes a hit IMO because he didn't write much of his own material. -

Hard to pick between biggie or tupac for me. Both GOAT. Eminem was as big as anyone in the early 2000's. Mashall Mathers LP is still one of my top albums.Commander of Awesome;1165206 wrote:I voted Biggie. Edit: I accidentally voted Eminem. My vote goes to Biggie. -

Lil Wyte. He gives out reps. -
killer_ewokTough call there. Rakim maybe. BIG, Nas and Jay-Z would be in the discussion as well. Probably throw Em in there too. Big L was great. LL Cool J and Ice Cube put out some great albums and certainly pass the longevity test but not sure I would put them in that top tier. Maybe a 1b. to the 1a. Listed above.

I've never been to a good rap show, so they're all poor performers IMO.gut;1165216 wrote:Depends on your definition....By the same token, Dre is more of a producer. "Rapper" to me means performer -

I've been on a cube listening spree as of late. No Vaseline is legit.killer_ewok;1165225 wrote:Tough call there. Rakim maybe. BIG, Nas and Jay-Z would be in the discussion as well. Ghost, Rae and GZA could've been thrown in there too for the discussion but ultimately none of them are the best ever and I've always been a huge Wu-Tang fan. -

Might be the best pwn track ever. -

Talking about performing the song. Not that it's not a valid criteria, but in other music they have a singer/songwriter category. It'd be like saying Whitney Houston wasn't as good because other people wrote most of her stuff (don't know if that's true, just saying).Commander of Awesome;1165226 wrote:I've never been to a good rap show, so they're all poor performers IMO. -

Talib Kweli is good live, but I agree most rappers are horrible live.Commander of Awesome;1165226 wrote:I've never been to a good rap show, so they're all poor performers IMO. -

Cube went in on that one for sure. That whole Death Certificate album was great. -

Most rappers today are horrible IMO. Outside of Wale there really isn't a rapper out today that I like.like_that;1165239 wrote:Talib Kweli is good live, but I agree most rappers are horrible live.
