Never was big into West Coast stuff either. I've always preferred the East Coast style/sound. Wu-Tang, Biggie, Nas, Mobb Deep, Black Moon, Smif-n-Wessun, Gang Starr, EPMD, LL, etc.

as far as young rappers out there now...i like Yelawolf....JCOLE.....kendrick lamar he has a new song out w/dr.dre..wiz kahlifah..mac miller...wordsmith....2chainz especially for their production...mike posner....Drake obviously

Drake is the softest "rapper" out today. I have a hard time even calling him a rapper.
  • Gblock
well i like his music for certain moods or situations you dont always have to rap about getting money, smoking weed and shooting people...many of his songs contain words and thoughts that i have had before so i like it. plus i like his creativity and wordplay. i enjoy hearing things said in a way that ive never heard before. I find his rhymes very clever. but i agree very soft.

wasnt it tupac that said..you dont rap for the ninjas..you rap for the b******, the b***** will by your record and the ninjas like what the b****** like

Yeah I don't dislike Drake, but some of his sing song wishy washy shit makes me want to turn him off. I also get enraged when I hear the term "yolo".

    Drake- The merchant of Cuddles.
  • thePITman
I can't stand rap music, but for some reason I enjoy Eminem's style. I voted for him.

Outkast is another I forgot about...

I can listen to Stankonia all of the way through. Solid album.

What about A$AP Rocky? I'm a big fan of his right now. Excited for his album coming in July.

^ I'm a fan of Goldie. I haven't heard much of his other stuff.

I'm not ashamed to say that I like Drake's music. Is a lot of it soft? Sure. However, dude has some great lines. "Bitch, you wasn't wit me shootin' in the gym" on Stay Schemin' was good stuff. You gotta take Drake for what he's worth. If I want to listen to some hardcore Hip-Hop...I'm not reaching for a Drake disc. Depends on my mood but he can hold his own on some tracks with the likes of Em, Rick Ross, etc.

He's a Hip-Hop/R&B hybrid artist. But, he's been that way from the beginning so I can respect that. It's not like he came out hard and then sold out or something.

I was going to put him up there he is in constant rotation in my car..that hands on the wheel is super hot...im just not at this time impressed with his versatility...meaning every song he says pretty mofo....smoking a blunt and purple drink...which is cool but im not sure if you can last forever on that.

You'll have that when you're living at home with your mom.

She probably doesn't let you out of her sight

Kanye isn't really the "greatest rapper" from pure rapping perspective, but he is IMO the greatest musician in the rap game. His productions are on a completely different level.
  • Gblock
well i like all kinds of music as well as r and b...i play music constantly around the house and often play music when i get it on...you cant really **** to eminem....plus if my neices and nephews come over i have to play music with less cusswords. while i do primarily listen to "gansta rap" i like all kinds of hip hop. the posner mixtape The Layover i thought was outstanding.
