Any carpenters? I have another deck question...

check with sleeper on a sponsorship for your deck. If ya put up a small golden arches he may throw ya some cash.

I would guess that the typical type of lumber you use for decking would be too weak? Maybe the composite would be strong enough to hold up?

16" on center seems to me like it would be too far apart on a flooring surface, and may cause sagging. I can see it, maybe, on a wall, but I wouldn't do it on a floor for my house.

Here is a picture of some decking I just did at our house, last summer:

Well, there is zero sagging currently but it says that 16" OC is fine for perpendicular decking. If I used 2x6 boards I would be fine at 22" OC. Using 5/4x6 drops down to 12" OC.

    Looks like shit.

Snot assured me through pm that I will have no issues replacing the deck with the supports as is. I think he's fucking with me.

I will if my deck doesn't collapse and kill me first.

Pretty sure you could get everything you need at home depot, including the labor, and have it done in a day.

    Justin, 16" is standard. Don't know why I thought 12". I'm guessing it's because I'm a dumbass.

As small as the deck is I can probably knock it out myself in a weekend. How much do you think the illegals would do it for?

I don't want any sleezeballs from the OC invading my personal space.

That would certainly help sustain your motivation to finish.
