  Might as well just give everyone $10,000 a year in cash, free phones, free housing, free healthcare, free food, free car, free sex, free children, etc. That way we can all live in peace and harmoney and kumbaya. :rolleyes:

  If there's one thing I understand in discussions that pertain to this topic, there really is no convincing ANYONE if they don't understand how demeaning it is for the stererotypical imagery and language.
  
  The "Redskins" name is derogatory. There is no "pussification," "pansified," or "whining" going on. It is a derogatory name. Especially when you couple it with feathers, tomahawks, and Native American caricatures. Same goes for "Indians" or "Braves" or "Warriors." We are talking about a group of people who were invaded, massacred, slaughtered, and pushed out of their land. The Native Americans became the "lowly" of society. Heck, many still classify them as such. So, what do we do to "honor" them...we use stereotypical imagery and language to profit off of their "plight."
  
  Could you imagine a German company, university, or professional team using Jewish imagery and language to make a profit off of it? That would definitely not be okay. What if an Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland company, university or professional team used the Catholic/Protestant conflict to make a buck? We have already alluded to using African-American (or any dark-skinned) stereotypical imagery and language would never be used -- outside of potentially the Negro Leagues. We'd definitely never see any Asian stereotypical imagery and language used by companies, universities, or professional teams.
  
  Could you imagine seeing a team called the "Ricemen?" With a caricature with slant-eyes, straw hat, and smiling? No way. And it should stay that way. Oh, but we were just "honoring" the rice-growing heritage of the area...right...lame.
  
  Team names of "Dolphins," Tigers," "Lions," and other animals/plants/music/etc. are not profitting off of a people group that was slaughtered, invaded, etc. Even mascots like "Vikings" or "Fighting Irish" aren't making any bucks off the plight of other people groups. There is a fine line...and MANY teams/universities have crossed it.

  I dont particularly want free children, but free child care would be nice and so would the rest, it would be fucking great. It would help me live in peace and harmony.

  It would be. Get a job and pay for it yourself. Nothing in this world is "free", its just someone who doesn't owe you anything getting it up the butt so you can spend more of your money on things you don't need.

  I would venture a guess that there are other teams (university or high school) that use the same mascot but use similar imagery -- either an arrowhead, tomahawk, feather, etc.

  The LSU tigers are named after the Tiger brigade during the Civil War. The Vikings whole wrath of terror was based upon the plight of others. The Irish had it horrible when England stole their land and starved their people.

  Everything I get in life is because I am white. I got free school because I'm white, I got a job because I'm white, I get free money from my grandparents because I'm white, I get to play the victim whenever I want because I'm white, I get to vote because I'm white, I stay out of jail because I'm white, etc. I am truly thankful to be white. If I was a minority, my life would be so hard.
