What? That isn't a model, those are the numbers you'd make after taxes.sleeper;1131975 wrote:IWP, never go into financial modeling. That may be one of the worst I've ever seen.
I'm not stating you should take the annuity since that'd be very stupid. I was just showing what the take home would be.
Of course. I wasn't intending that to mean people should take the annuity, merely show what the amounts actually would be after taxes. The lump sum would definitely be the way to go.queencitybuckeye;1132004 wrote:Unless you're planning on spending every dime as soon as you get it, you're kind of missing a big part of the calculation (return on the money you invest). I did an analysis based on the assumption of spending $3 million per year and investing the rest. The lump sum "won" by several hundred million over the 26 years. -

There may actually be a legit business idea there. The logistics and administration are hardly a no-brainer, which is probably why companies don't do it more. But if you could become like the Amazon of scavenger hunt, you could get lots of free stuff from companies to give away. Some of the bigger ones, down the road, could actually drive tourism dollars to various cities and so forth. The tie-ins are almost limitless. A twist on the old experiential marketing ploy. But the execution would be more than daunting.justincredible;1132041 wrote:Good point. Do a bunch of smaller hunts. Like $5-10k each.
I know VZW did this with launch of a few of their phones. Or maybe it was Moto. Had hints on twitter but it was pretty ridiculous.
Actually sort of like what Groupon does, except you have to work for it or it has a game aspect to it. -

Because you misunderstood what I had posted which was just a breakdown of the after tax take, not an estimate of earnings from investments or anything.sleeper;1132069 wrote:I just said don't go into financial modeling, which is great life advice.

$200.00 is your estimated net worth with a standard deviation of $50 so there's a 95% chance you're worth between $100.00 and $300.00. Quite impressive for someone that can't read I must say and you were right about more than two zeros, as you can see there are four there. Well done. -

Actually it would be a 95.4% chance. Fail.I Wear Pants;1132118 wrote:Ok will do.
