What is the worst thing you have found in your food from restaurants?

  • Devils Advocate
Last night had to be the worst for me. I found a bandaid in my smashed potatoes at the O'Charlies on Miller Lane in Dayton.

I notified the manager, He thought it was no big deal and even cracked a joke about how could I tell that from the skins in the potatoes. He offered to get me another order which I refused. I told him that I never wanted anything from that kitchen again.

He came back to the table with my bill. He deducted the meal but left my wife's dinner and a couple of drinks on my bill.

My wife refused to eat her meal as well ( she had the potatoes , but no bandaid.)

I told the waitress that I would pay for the drinks, but not the meals. She started crying and walked away.

A couple of minutes later, another waitress said that if we refused to pay for the meal, that it would be charged to our original waitress ( that we never saw again).

I threw a 10.00 bill on the table and left (The drinks were 8 bucks). No one said or looked at us on the way out.

The wife said I was a jerk ( duhh..) and said I should have paid.

It was a long evening at the Devils Lair last night.....

You should have haggled for a $50 gift card after paying for your meals and first getting a $10 gift card.

That is gross, your entire bill should have been comped.

Bug in the strawberry moose at KFC, roughly 6-7 years ago.

I cannot believe that the business was not bowing down to you, considering what you could do to the place. One call to the health inspector could cost them a TON of money.

I had a roommate do this in college. He was making a taco salad and his bandaid came off. Woman saw it, but did nothing. Could have easily put the little establishment out of business.

Damn what is up with places expecting you to pay after something like this happens. I would think they would be freaking to not be sued! I mean a used band aid is pretty bad!

I found a tampon in my bloody mary once. Actually, I had just ordered a water, come to think of it.

A wing of a beetle in KFC a couple years ago, gave the chicken a little spice I wish they'd put more of them in my original recipe.

Sounds to me that a letter from AN ATTORNEY to the O'Charlie's HQ is in order.

I'd think even a little bird could see this.

I'm honestly surprised the Devil's wife was not all over the manager.

I just called thier corporate office. I got the runaround and gave em my cell number. If no one calls, the next call I make is to the health dept.

Saying what? Unless the OP gets sick, his damages are zero. This is a counterproductive strategy.

I would have atleast ate something there(for free). saying you never wanted anything from that kitchen again is pretty dumb considering i bet every other place you have eaten at has had this happen atleast once.

I know it happens everywhere.( just not to me). If the manager acted concerned, there probably never would have been an issue.

My wife found a tooth pick in her salad and I found at a different restaurant a plastic wrapper in my potatoes.

I understand this can happen but the attitude of the manager dictates the solution and the cost of the issue .

Both situation we did not pay for the meal, was give a new meal (we order something different) and was give a gift card for $100.00 </SPAN>

Note: What you don't want to happen in a restaurant full of people is a guy like me to raise his voice. I mention to the manager that he had 3 minute before this place will clear.
The manager said that he would call the police .... Not a problem ..I have to police number in my cell phone, dialed it for him... and handed it to him. He hung up... :) </SPAN>

That 100.00 gift card is no big deal to a restaurant .. think about it cost of the food and the mark up % they got off cheap&#8230; </SPAN>

That would probally cost about minimum 200 bucks to do that. There are no damages. Bad idea. Besides they didn't charge him for his meal. It's his fault he didn't get something else. They have no obligation to comp his wife's meal even though they should have.

Not hardly... Bad pub such as what could be generated by something like this could hurt a business. Miller Lane restaurants come and go with frequency.

I'm not sure what generating bad publicity has to do with having a lawyer send a letter to their HQ.

Trust me... it is a given that if Devil's fired all the barrels he has at his disposal there could definitely be quite a bit of bad pub. It could be harnessed if the HQ deals with it first.

I would have waited the 3 minutes if I was the manager, just to watch you make a fool of yourself.
