I look at fast food as order at a counter, get food at counter all while standing there waiting generally about 2 mins for it. Doesn't have anything to do with the type of food IMO.

Five guys is fattening as hell
Chipotle is a heart attack maker with their sodium content.

Also agree though subway has healthy options by no means are the others listed healthy in any way! Also I can get a salad or plain grilled chicken breast at McD's to.

I'd prefer high caloric content places like Five Guys and Chipotle that are actually "real" food over the big chain places.

    1) Off-topic, I wonder if the "tolerant" group among us are p.o.'ed that many Jewish observer-owned bagel shops and jewelry stores on 47th street in NYC take Saturday off...or if their anger is focused on just one particular religion, nice tolerance.

    2) On-topic, McDonald's McGriddle breakfast sandwich - any of them. Wife and I had them after landing in Port Columbus after about 16 hours of no food (not even pretzels on the plane) and we just wanted anything and foolishly didn't order an Egg McMuffin or wait until we got to a Bob Evans, we almost retched them out before we got to Chillicothe.

From a food-weight and calorie perspective, Chipotle is off the charts with its sodium. A Big Mac is probably healthier even with its higher fat and sugar content than any typical Chipotle option.

No one is angry that any business takes Saturday or Sunday off. I think it may be a bad business decision but it doesn't make me angry or anything.

Chick fil a not being open on Sunday isn't what makes me dislike them. It's that I find their prices high for the food they serve and I don't like the groups they support. Nothing to do with them being closed on Sunday.

Smokehouse Grille in Alliance is closed on Sunday and I believe it's because the owner prefers to have that day to go to church and such. Doesn't bother me at all and that place is one of my favorites.

This whole idea that Christians are being persecuted is a bit ridiculous.

I'm guessing you're in the minority, I don't eat fast food much but Chik Fil A is the bomb, they actually use real chicken breast so you know the meat is good. Sorry that your political opinions have stopped you from enjoying a good product. Your loss.

There sandwiches aren't bad, I just don't eat fast food that much.

Plus there aren't any around me and when I am in areas that do have them like Columbus I choose to eat elsewhere because I like other things better. I've never wanted to go to Chick fil a but said "no, I don't like their politics". If I really wanted it I would go.

But that doesn't mean I have to like the company.

Most people are tricked into thinking Subway is healthy. They've got a great marketing department. The only time Subway is close to healthy is when you eat a stripped down 6" sub with nothing tasty on it. And then you are still eating processed meat.

If you strip down any sandwich to the meat and veggies it won't be near as bad for you. I laugh at people who go to Subway and order a Chicken Bacon Ranch with the cheese bread, add mayo, and think it's healthy because it's Subway.

IWP Tell me if I&#8217;m understand this correctly. You don't like the company Chick-fil-a because of it political stance on some issue and the companies donations to some group that you are in opposition to. So because of this factor you don't patronize the restaurant is this correct?</SPAN>

So you narrow your support because of one issue rather than looking at the over all positive aspect of the companies agenda for their customers health and good quality product served. </SPAN>

Simply, put if you&#8217;re feed BS you&#8217;ll eat crap. :D </SPAN>

I actually think Chick-fil-a tastes the worst. My tops are Taco Bell, McD's, and Arbys.

They do have great marketing. When they brought out the Turkey bacon club or whatever it's called, they touted it as only 550 calories, but that's for a 6 inch, so if you had a footlong for dinner, you're taking in more calories than you would have if you had a Big Mac or a Whopper. They're basically passing some of their subs off as healthy, when it's really just about portion control. Subway has been a staple of my diet while I've lost about 20lbs over the last month, but I have a stripped down sandwich that doesn't include any cheese, and only a little bit of oil for dressing.

Exactly. And you can go just about anywhere and get a small stripped down sandwich for the calories they advertise.

I didn't say they were healthier, I said they seemed healthier. At least with the 3 I mentioned (minus Subway with meat), the ingredients are more fresh. Like others have said, Subway advertises healthy food and has fresh ingredients.

Chipotle's meat is organically grown, so it's obviously better for you than the processed mystery meat at McD, BK....

Pretty much any restaurant out there isn't necessarily "good" for you for a variety of reasons (usually portion size), but at least Chipotle and Subway make the effort to at least seem like a better option.

Is some of it trickery? Yea, it is. However, at the end of the day, the quality of ingredients are far better than at the others.

Just a hint, Chipotle is owned by McDonalds, and they buy their meat from the same producers. They just get different cuts for the 2 different restaurants

True. The thing is though you CAN make the sandwiches very healthy. There are some that are very anti healthy no doubt about that.

I think the ones I usually would get would be like 750 calories for a footlong. Still less than a big mac with fries, plus it has alot of vegetables and overall healthy....and a footlong is much more filling, and can be used as TWO meals, than a big mac meal.

They get ya with the cheese, making it a meal with chips/cooke and a drink.

You are still W A Y ahead to get many of their footlong subs, eating it for two meals, than any of the value meals you get at a FF place that you would eat in one sitting.

I always loved it when Coldwater would play LCC in football or basketball growing up so we could go to Kewpee! Love that place. Then I worked at UPS about 500 yards away from it. On a good summer day when the wind was right you could smell Kewpee......and I ate there W A Y too much!

Have to say....still love that place....except for the chili.

True..you can get a stripped down Big mac.....but then it isnt a big mac. WIthout the sauce it is basically a double burger with a little extra bread.

You can get a stripped down sub at subway and that just means no cheese and not any of the bad sauces, and in the end it is pretty much the same sandwich as is advertised.

The biggest thing in all of it is how filling is the food to keep you from eating more. I would rather eat a healthy 6 inch subway sandwich piled with veggies than a stripped down version of a FF sandwich. A 6 inch subway sub, even the healthy ones, are much more filling and healthier with the veggies than any of those stripped down FF sandwiches.
