  No apology necessary. There are heath ramifications to cleanliness. Cleanliness isn't necessarily an aesthetic motivator. In addition, functionality for shelter is the driving motivator for any type of required maintenance. Again, aesthetics are not. Not caring about the characteristics isn't a lie.   Regarding mowing the lawn, yes I have it mowed. I pay a lawn company to mow it. I certainly have better things to do than mow it myself. The question would be then, why? The small area around the house that's still grass enables me to keep the wild animals from nesting and habitating too close to the house. It's not a large area but none the less I'd rather keep snakes, small critters and rodents from nesting right next to the dwelling. It's a buffer between their home and mine. It' more sanitary and healthy if we live apart. It's appearance is irrelevant. Mowing doesn't take place for aesthetics. It's just not important to worry about it.

  It's just a house. An inanimate object that provides shelter. As crazy as you might think my views are on it, its even more crazy to think that so many people look at it for anything more than shelter. It's appearance means nothing in the grand scheme of things and I am not sure I could care any less about such characteristics that are a product of "marketing fluff".
